If admonishing the church to avoid compromise and apostasy is not “sound bible teaching “ then your going to have to rip out all the epistles in the New Testament 😂. The lack of warning Christians concerning apostasy today is why pulpits are full of snakes like Jakes, and countless others who are openly preaching heresy and live like pimps.
I had the privilege to be a member of Harold Sightler’s church for years and he was fully capable of going as deep in the scriptures as any other teacher I’ve ever seen. He did after all earn a double doctorate from Furman University. But more importantly, he lived a spotless life before his congregation for 50 years. Though no man shall attain perfection in this life I can’t put a finger on any area of his life that was suspect according to the Bible. I’m a better follower of Jesus Christ because of his ministry.
