Hi I notice you did not use any glue to stick it to the glass. A lot of information says to use a PVA or it won't stick to the glass. I want to try and do a bottle but I don't want it to fall off. Any advice please?
Hi, Yes I use (wood) glue when I want to stick clay to glass or wood. I just use a paintbrush to spread the glue on to the surface before I put the clay.
Hi love the little house, I have read that airdry clay applied to glass will crack as it drys, how can I over come this I would also like to ask do you think painting the glass with PVA glue and allowing it to dry would help the clay to stick to glass. Thank you in anticipation of your advise
Thank you! So far I haven't had any issues with clay cracking as it dries. I've been asked about it a lot and yes i get small cracks from time to time and what I do is I just fill them up with fresh clay and smooth out. I'm not sure if it depends on the type of clay. Maybe there are certain brands that are prone to cracking, I'm not sure. I use a modelling clay from 'Home Deco' (quite similar to Das) which I purchase from our local thrift shop. I always stick the clay on to the glass or wood surface while the glue is still wet.
@@craftynatsky I normally use Das but I've run out. I'm using Pebeo but I don't like it. I find it hard to work with and it's prone to cracking. I might try it again with the Das. Thank you for your advice.

Can clay be turn into glass or is their other ways
Hi beautiful work, one question does the air dry clay shrink when drys? i want to cover tea pot. Thank you
Thank you! I get asked that question a lot. In my experience, it does shrink a little bit. And what I do is I just cover the gaps with fresh clay.
Can clay cover over plastic jars..? And how would i get it to stay...
That's adorable! ☺ Are you using watercolors or acrylic paints on this one?
Thank you! I used acrylic paint.
Do you spray it with a clear coat when you are done?
Hi, I apply acrylic varnish with a paint brush.
What clay do you use? I tried this and it just cracked and fell off in big chunks as it dried.
Hi, I use a modelling clay from 'Home Deco'. It's similar to Das air dry clay which is more well-known.
