I purchased mirror extenders, $11 for a pair, which solved the issue of the mirrors hitting the windshield. Thanks again for the video

EM FL, please share a picture of your bike showing how the extender helped.

Thanks for making the video. It was very helpful. I love my MadStad. I had upgraded from a CalSci windshield. The MadStads adjustability really makes a big difference with wind protection and it is a much quieter ride. Safe riding!

Luke Duke: If you have the same bike ie NC 700x. I don't think I would recommend it. The reason. Excessive glare that bounces up into the windshield at night. This may seem trivial but it is annoying. Also the fact that since the windshield is not attached to the handle bars and is attached to the fairing. You can not make a tight turn, say like when you are turning around in a parking lot with the handlebar as far left or right as it can go without the windshield being as far down and as far forward as it can go, without hitting the Mirror arms against the side of the windshield. And that kind of defeats the purpose of purpose of having an adjustable windshield if you can't use it in all adjustments anyway. Now I see why some windshields have a narrow part to allow for the swing of the handlebars. That being said this is only my second windshield the first was a huge fixed mounted one on my wife's 1982 Honda 250. As much as I want to like this windshield I would give it a 3 out of 5. Just rode it today about 120 miles got back after dark. After sitting most of the winter I can say my opinion on the glare, still annoying.

Hey, Just got an NC700X today! I'm glad you put together this video, the mirrors hitting is totally lame. The glare is also lame, however, I thought perhaps if you put a strip of black electrical tape along the bottom edge of the windshield that might stop the light traveling through the acrylic and lighting up the top edge. Try that and let me know if that helps

desotopete, did the glare come as a result of light from oncoming vehicles or your own headlight? Did you manage to eliminate the glare?

@@akinwandeolaifa6273 You can paint the bottom edge black, but I left it as is to balance out on coming headlights. Also, I tilted my handlebars back for greater comfort and have not hitting issues when turning the handlebars.

About the glare that you complained about. What was the source? Did it come as a result of light from oncoming vehicles or your own headlight? Did you manage to eliminate the glare? Do you think other colours would be better? At night, would vision not be affected by tinted windshield?

Hello, The glare comes from my own windshield since it is slightly out front and ahead of the headlight. I took a piece of hobby foam cut to an attractive shape mounted between the mount and the windshield to block the glare and am now satisfied. Incidentally I think I read where the new ones are already painted black on the inside lower part but I would have to re research that.

One other thing I did was darken the very edges of the windscreen with a black permanent ink black marker to reduce the light transmission to the very edge. I have to redo that every now and then as it slowly wears off.

If you look closely you can see the black foam between the windscreen and mounting bracket I used to cut glare. flic.kr/p/21aTUG9

desotopete, thanks a lot. If you can, can you make a video of with and without the foam to show the benefit. Will appreciate that.

paint the bottom in black and it will help with the light

That's a great solution. I put the shorter shield on my 2012 NC700X and starting to enjoy the extra light to balance out car head lights in urban driving.
