Thank you for your Video, it really helped out a lot. I did try your suggestion and sorry to say it didn't work for me. What did work was taking that micro switch off, spraying some contact cleaner into it. The switch itself can be found on-line for a few bucks. You'd have to move the lever from the old to the new switch, not too hard. You can also buy the entire shift assembly that has that little switch on it for about $200. Anyway, thanks again
Good idea! You're most welcome Most welcome thank you for your comment glad to hear that it helped please anyone reading if you found value check the video description for how to support the old Guy in the video😊
Can confirm that this works great. Can also bend the wire slightly so it bends a little more. Massive win, thanks for keeping my hard earned cash outta the stealerships hands!!

What is the name of the part/ switch? I have a 2008 Saturn Vue Greenline and the keys get stuck in the ignition when we shut the car off. I believe it’s the sensor that tells the starter it’s in park. But the name of the part you guys are talking about would be super helpful
I don't know but they would be able to help you at a junkyard call and ask if they have 2008 Saturn parts you'll be able to figure it out, bring it with you or take a photo of yours or a video screenshot. but I'm gonna upload a new video now my keys are stuck due to a secondary problem! This fix worked for 1-2 months before a diode failed under the wheel..easy workaround until fixing this new point of failure

Great video, may be my problem. At least a good starting point. Thank you.
Where is the neutral safety switch located?
Can I just bypass the switch all together?
Not sure did you end up trying that?
