This song was the first Jacob Collier masterpiece I heard, randomly sent to me by spotify based on my library. For about a year I did not click to see the rest of the album or any other tracks by you. Then, for some reason, I decided to check out the rest of the album (I rarely do this). By the end of the album I was 100% convinced it was a 20 piece band (at least) with a master choreographer. I figured it was lifelong musicians in their 40s and this was their epic masterpiece that they had built up to after a lifetime of producing music with professional sound engineers like no one else had access to. To later find out it's ONE fucking human in his God damn room recording this by HIMSELF and the whole album was done in three months....to say this blown my mind is like calling mount Everest an ant hill. Who are you, sir. You have raised the bar by so much.......maybe too much? Who raises bars by that much. Anyway, I'm now a lifelong fan and so excited to have found you. All the best and continue to let your truly unique light shine. No one comes close.

Having just turned 60 and listened to much jazz over the years I am amazed at how fresh and innovative this young mans music is. I feel so happy listening to this piece. Quite brought a tear to my eye.
People are attempting to compare Jacob to others and it's pointless. This is "Jacob Collier music". He's a true original and he'll be an influence on many others for years to come.
Nostril Jacker yeah, his writing is inspired and creative - but every great artist is still influenced by ones that came before. Anything we create is just a synthesis of what we have experienced before. A true innovator is just someone who has absorbed more influence, and who has the experience and maturity in their craft to apply them in new ways. I agree he is and will likely be a great influence to many to come, but I do not agree it is pointless to consider who and what influenced him! To understand art, you really need to consider the history and the culture it was inspired by.
I think the point is that there isn't any genre/style you can put him in. He is pretty much a fusion of all styles, from funk to samba. It's not that he didn't have any influences, just that you can't really say "oh, Yeah, he sounds kinda like this guy!"
Agreed!! His videos are often incredible as well, so very creative and imaginative, often approaching a truly psychedelic experience. And I know my psychedelics having lived in San Francisco in the 60s. :)
The fact that there are so many different names in the comments shows that there is no real one place that his music comes from Although gotta say that Hajanga gives me Pat Metheny vibes
Simply one of the most phenomenal tracks ever written. Sublime. The guy is a genius. And he is playing practically every single instrument on this! A modern day Mozart
So in addition to be a musical mind this guy is starting to master video editing beyond most. In a couple decades, he's going to make Jacob Collier - The Movie, and I'm not sure the world will be ready
Getting into med school I'd thought I would lose my drive and passion for music, but discovering your music has single-handedly given me back the inspiration I had as a 15-year old in music theory class thinking of spending my whole life just making music I love

This song reminds me of the jazz fusion from the 80s and 90s (C. Korea, Pat Metheny, Frank Gambale, Michael Brecker, Yellowjackets, etc.) Just awesome !
An intoxicating melange of Steve Reich, Joe Zawinul, Earth Wind & Fire and Metheny- keeping the rest of us musicians on our toes, and in a perpetual state of anticipation and admiration. Bravo!
I saw the orchestrated version Jacob did with M. I. T, his genius is so inspiring and he's just an infectious, delicious piece of bubblegum gumdrop candy dipped in talent, his music makes me so happy🤓👏👏❤️ I love this track as much as the rest... Great job Jacob.
It's fun to be around this genius. He's just playing with us at this point; still discovering and inventing ways to continue jumping exponentially forward. Good on ya Jacob.
Jacob, you are just so on another level. It's like we're beating rocks while you're building spaceships. All I can do is shake my head. You're Amazing.

What the hell. Man, this is beautiful. As a music producer, I'm completely overwhelmed by this. Thank you so much for this amazing piece. I'm still speechless.
Unbelievably creative and positive and uplifting and inspiring!! The video production fits so beautifully with the And the MUSIC - the chords, the melodies and counter-melodies. And the lyrics!!! Absolutely incredible, Jacob. Thank so much for bringing your shining light into the world!
I think this is my new favourite song! And you my dear Jacob is a true inspiration to all of mankind! I rarely get this emotional from music but this time you made it. I feel blessed to live in this lifetime and get to experience what you create and share with the rest of us! Thank you!
Almost totally speechless. Just when I think Jacob's genius has reached some sort of limit he gives us this. Inspiring, life affirming, joyful and I don't know whether to hate him (how can one person be that talented???) or love him. Music simply doesn't get better than this.
Jacob, you inspire me. I was a kid in the early 90's who regularly stayed up in my room on my electric piano until after the sun came up. I'd since grown bored with music and uninspired to create musically. Thank you for re-inspiring me. Like a muscle I haven't used in a long time, I feel long-lost, powerful emotions watching the sheer delight you seem to take in musical creativity. Thanks.
Just took delivery of the songs of JC music book and loving listening to the tracks following his and the marvelous June Lee's arrangements. Next step - having a go myself at the piano! May this music never lose its freshness and sparkle...

If you want to sing Hajanga:
Everybody, near and far
(Tell 'em about it, tell 'em about it)
Come together as you are
(Sing the hajanga, sing the hajanga)
To the ocean, to the sky
(Tell 'em about it, tell 'em about it)
Sing that cosmic lullaby
(Sing the hajanga, sing the hajanga)
Sing the hajanga
Sing your pleasure sing your pain
(Tell 'em about it, tell 'em about it)
Like you'll never sing again
(Sing the hajanga, sing the hajanga)
Let it echo, loud and clear
(Tell 'em about it, tell 'em about it)
Across the ancient stratosphere
(Sing the hajanga, sing the hajanga)
Even when the sun refuse to shine
there's a song of love that never dies
Even when the good days pass you by
lift your voices to the sky singin…
La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
As the words go round and round
(Tell 'em about it, tell 'em about it)
Let the tears roll down and down
(Sing the hajanga, sing the hajanga)
Sing the way you wish to be
(Tell 'em about it, tell 'em about it)
Let that singing set you free
(Sing the hajanga, sing the hajanga)
Even when those dark clouds bring you down
There's a spark of joy that can be found
Even when things break and fall apart
Lift your hands up from the heart, singin…
La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
Every morning
Every night
Through the darkness
To the light
Like a beacon
Shining bright
Sing the hajanga you'll be alright
From the winter
Comes the spring
It don't matter
What life will bring
Said you can do most
Anything
Give your hajanga
A song to sing
Tell your mama
Tell your pa
Sing it near and
Sing it far
Be exactly
The way you are
See the hajanga
It's your guiding star
So every woman
To every man
In every nation
In every land
I said please you've gotta understand
Now sing the hajanga
And take my hand SING IT
Then one day your life is through
(Tell 'em about it, tell 'em about it)
Nothing more that you can do
(Sing the hajanga, sing the hajanga)
So give away the things you know
(Tell 'em about it, tell 'em about it)
And tell your friends you love them so
(Sing the hajanga, sing the hajanga)
Tell them hajanga!

WOW... THAT would be amazing!!!
Simon Jefferis same💯
Simon Jefferis did you used to play for lifespring in Reading?😁😁, By any chance?
This song reminds me of the jazz fusion from the 80s and 90s (C. Korea, Pat Metheny, Frank Gambale, Michael Brecker, Yellowjackets, etc.) Just awesome !
An intoxicating melange of Steve Reich, Joe Zawinul, Earth Wind & Fire and Metheny- keeping the rest of us musicians on our toes, and in a perpetual state of anticipation and admiration. Bravo!
BRILLIANT may not be a strong enough word for this!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
This just makes me feel so good!
What a musical astronaut! Pure oxygen!!!
Groove from 4:24 is soooooo sick. Reminds me of an Esperanza Spalding song
Love the dubble bass
I was having a terrible day today. Singing this piece gives me to a much better place. Thank you Jacob!
Jacob, you are just so on another level. It's like we're beating rocks while you're building spaceships. All I can do is shake my head. You're Amazing.

This is quite simply a masterpiece.
My one year old loves your songs Jacob! Thank you!
Almost totally speechless. Just when I think Jacob's genius has reached some sort of limit he gives us this. Inspiring, life affirming, joyful and I don't know whether to hate him (how can one person be that talented???) or love him. Music simply doesn't get better than this.
This song makes me so happy :) My favorite Jacob song
Thank you
4:23 its hard to describe what the fuck this does to me, this might be the most important break I've heard in my entire like.
The visuals are almost as good as the song, amazing as always.
This song makes my heart explode with happiness and love! Thank you Jacob!
