Thanks, that was super helpful. I'm totally new to all this, and I now what to know, once this tag is set up, how do I see it in GA4, or set up a report to track this tag? Do you have a video on that?
I have a site and Vimeo tracking is fine with a video that automatically loads with your setup up but the video is clickable and opens up another window where a different Vimeo video plays. I want to track this video as an event. I have tried many things can you help. I love your courses I have signed up a month ago and the material is great.
Hi there, thanks, but just to be clear, if I use the built in GA4 TH-cam feature and create the custom dimension video_percent I will be able to see in my reports?
Question, can I set up this tracking and then I run advertising using the Google Ads UI or is there a way to have utm tracking within Google Ads itself? What would you recommend?
I’ve created Google Tags and they’re firing correctly.
In Google analytics I can see “item_id” as a parameter under “Events in the last 30 minutes”
But I cannot filter down / find this item_id parameter under explore in my free form table.
Do you have a video on how to do this? Hopefully that makes sense.

Question, this has been an issue for me lately, our company posts gated webinars to be watched on demand. TH-cam no longer allows you to strip controls from a video, meaning if we used an embedded youtube video, a big suggestion on the screen for them to share the video freely is not ideal. I looked at many solutions and Vimeo was probably the best, but comes at a price that we are not willing to pay just to have tracking on our webinars.. My solution was to build a JS media player, which looks great and has all the functions I need. My question to you is- is there ANY way to get data from that player for analytics
Depends on the player you choose. Some can be tracked, some cannot

Your video is useful but you did the same video multiple times. Very basic videos, but in the market, there are a bunch of updates but you never talk about that like consent mode, privacy Sandbox, and more, but you skip all of this.
