    This may be something super basic to most people, but my dad didn't explain it to me to where i could understand: so, this video was very helpful and now I know how the floodlights work
    edit: been driving for a few months, so winter and dark means headlights for most people

    I’m part of a car sharing program and the cars are corolla’s or Prius, got stuck in the rain in the Corolla the other day and couldn’t figure out the headlights. Thanks for this, they don’t teach you this stuff in driving school.

    So your Corolla is the same looking as mine not exactly but very similar I have off, drl, parking lights, and headlights on I want auto but I don’t have it, there is a sensor looking thing on my dash under the windshield and another sensor but it’s just a empty looking plug, I was wondering if there was something I can plug in and if I could order a switch with auto feature, if you know more please reply

    Hi there! When you set it on parking lights what lights are on in front? Just the usual blue leds?

      Good question, because it looks to me like the headlights still go on with "parking lights" option...

      @@richrol58 In fact I just tried it lately. When on parking lights mode nothing but the blue leds are on in front. What changes is on the rear of the car. The "night" lights turn on so that the people behind can see you. Thanks though!

      When you set it on parking lights, only the blue LEDs in the front are on. The rear "night" lights also turn on to ensure visibility from behind.

    What might be the fault. when switching on headlights that blue for brightening on dashboards illuminates when switching to full beam the other lamp switches off

      If your full beam switch is causing other lights to turn off, it could be a wiring issue. It's best to have it checked by a professional.

    2004 corolla has the same controls pretty much.. but i'm still confused on how to turn on the low beams

      To turn on the low beams, rotate the headlight control switch to the low beam position, usually indicated by a symbol with light rays pointing downward.

      The fog light switch is typically located on the same control stick as the headlights. If you can't find it, your model might not have fog lights installed.

      For your 2019 Corolla, the fog light switch should be on the same control stick as the headlights, possibly as a twist or push button.

      my car is the same way! it doesn’t have a notch to turn off. 2010 LE. the way i get them to stay off is by parking and turning off the car, pull the e-break and then turn the car back on

    How come my headlights stay on when I turned the switch off? Is this the daytime running lights.. it’s kind of annoying especially during the day when there on and when I go to turn them off they won’t turn off

      They stay on after a certain amount of time because they're automatic lights. Helps prevent night collisions.

      Leave it on auto.. that’s the only way to have your DRLs on in a Toyota

    Toyota really did a crappy job with the headlights/ fog lights/ DRL. I just don't get why they would remove the switch that would control the Fog Lights. Why would you not want it to have all lights turn on at once. The 2007-16 have this option but 2017-19 do not. Makes no sense at all.

    The headlights on the newer corolla's are way too bright and aimed high I get flashed everytime I drive

      The brightness of the newer Corolla headlights can be adjusted at a service center. If they're aimed too high, it might be worth having them checked and adjusted by a professional.

    Omg. I hate how the highbeams flicker on and off while driving at night in auto. My 2005 had it default in auto and it didn’t do that. Ive never used highbeams, ive never needed them, and i never will. This, imo is a reeeeally crappy and annoying feature.

      *TURN THE DIAL ON YOUR LIGHT CONTROL STICK TO THE LAST OPTION AND YOUR LOW BEAMS + HIGH BEAMS WILL BE ON STILL.*

      The flickering high beams in auto mode can be frustrating. You can manually switch to low beams to avoid this issue.

      If your auto lights aren't working, it might be an issue with the sensor or wiring. Have you checked the fuse?
