As of 7/6/22 , I have finally embraced postmill eschatology for my own and watching content like this now, brings so much joy to my heart! My journey from historic premill to postmill is very similar to grandpa Doug's. Now I can really rejoice in this glorious hope with you brothers! To King Jesus! 🍻
Brothers - I've been amil since around 2003, but recently have really started considering the postmil view. I've been listening to Pastor Doug, Jeff Durbin, and Gary DeMar lately and am strongly leaning this way now. This talk here was amazing and made so much sense and really helped me think about this eschatology in light of God's mission for his people. I'm so glad I found this.
The thing is…..Revelation 20 kinda wipes out the Postmillennialism view. Unless you don’t take it for what it actually says and do all kind of mental gymnastics to say it doesn’t mean what it says. When Rev 20 says when the devil is chained he will deceive the nations ‘no more’ - you’d have to say well it doesn’t mean no more it just means……. No more is no more, meaning not at all. That has not happened yet.
The OT law is to be enforced by the civil government by the preaching of the modern church. Pre mill is a cop out. We are to oppose evil and establish Christ's Kingdom on Earth.
So to put it more scriptural, a slight change of Philippians 1:12 "I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened in 2020 has really served to advance the gospel"
I love you guys, and agree with most of what you said. Now are we not to be obedient to the government as long as the government doesn't cause us to be disobedient to God. So how is wearing a mask disobedient to God? Honest question.
Had a quick question. Pastor Toby mentioned something about the civil magistrates and said that their job is to punish the wicked and protect the righteous. I was just wondering how a local City Council can engage in that endeavor? How does a City Council punish the wicked?
