The best we can do now is develop Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) as a feeder infrastructure to the metro that will be implemented say a decade later. BRT can organize the transportation network for the time being and prepare the public for the bigger metro project.
The best we can do is over throw trashy ministers and parties first, bring new faces with vision and urgency to do better for this country. We should not stop dreaming and making plans but corruption needs to be eradicated.
One thing about profit of metro is completely true. Infrastructure projects like railway metro etc rarely bring cash profit. They are there for increasing connectivity saving time etc. sabai national project ma profit khojni ho vna 90% infrastructure projects will run in loss.
Going to the ground reality, people in Nepal only vote for their favourite party no matter how worse is the candidate of their party and how worse is their favourite party . Why we need everything in Kathmandu .... permanent Population of Kathmandu is only 12 lac where as total people dwelling temporary and permanent is more than 50 lac .... So solution is to develop outside Kathmandu valley ...
Kathmandu has already become the economical, cultural and educational hub of the country. So, the population of Kathmandu will continue to rise even if we move the capital to other place.

Once the airport will be ready in Bhairawaha and Pokhara, there will be drastic change in incoming people in valley. Majority of business rely on people coming to ktm. It's working but it takes time. Besides make it easy for people outside of valley to access basic things like passport and license. It will change for sure.
The major problem with the density of population in Kathmandu is the extreme centralization of all the major aspects of the economic and social as well as political services in Kathmandu. Kathmandu basically consolidates all the major politically relevant buildings I.e the parliament and the House of representatives but the other thing is that until now the single international airport was here. Similarly, all the major universities except PU and Purvanchal are in Kathmandu or in its vicinity. For long, Kathmandu has been both the political and economic centre of Nepal but that is not a sustainable model. As we have seen with the case of Egypt or Indonesia who are moving their capitals or with the US or India with their planned capitals, decentralisation is the best path for Nepal. So, to protect our Nepal from fail country, we need MCC and BRI to make our country stand up on its feet. At the beginning almost all developed countries got help from America. Because Nepal is barely running from remittance, grants and loans And it can’t run the country like that, soon or later it will be failed country. So, to protect our Nepal from fail country, we need MCC and BRI to make our country stand up on its feet. At the beginning almost all developed countries got help from America. I don’t care who run for Mayor. My point was Nepal don’t have that kind of budget for the mega project. Because Nepal is barely running from remittance, grants and loans And it can’t run the country like that, soon or later it will be failed country. So, we need mega project like MCC, BRI, Train track etc for Nepal to stand up on its feet.
In 2-3 years we will see bullet trains in india but here we don't even have a proper train forget metro
