    24 frets + MM is all I wanted to hear. Japanese craftmanship and excellent hardware is all just icing.

    FGN still makes some Fenders, but Dyna Gakki builds most of them. I have a few Fujigen Jazz basses and they’re just as good or better than MIA Fenders. The build and quality is top notch. I would definitely buy a MIJ before a MIA Fender. Just my opinion.

    I've been waiting for this. Definately one of the best sounding basses for the price range of $1,000. You can use that bass literally from Jazz to Death Metal;very versatile instrument. In fact it kinda looks like Jazz bass but doens't really sound like typical Jazz basses because of the position of pickups...but it's a powerful and clear sounding bass. Trust me;EMG bass pickups will never let you down.

  • @Metallex
    @Metallex 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I bought this on your recommendation alone. Shipping from Japan + import fees.
    Holy hell this thing is glorious. Like, ridiculously super good. Easily the best bass, if not the best instrument that I've ever played. It's beautiful. The pickups are brilliant. The neck...oh man, the neck is INCREDIBLE. I cannot stress enough how good this bass is. The only weird thing for me is I'm coming from the sub-par Epi Thunderbird Pro-IVs so figuring out hand placement is weird!
    Cannot stress enough how great it is. Also came with a fairly well padded gig bag!

    I own this beauty in black color. Amazing instrument and my nr.1 in my collection. Superb neck and craftsmanship. Very good playability in higher registers. I consider it as a better instrument than most of more expensive basses (maybe even twice the price). Only problem I see here at the moment is that most of you won't be able to try it out before buying...I bought it also blindly as well, because of high praises from users and the availability (in Europe). My rating: 10/10 - go and grab one if you like it...It's truly AMAZING!

    There are so many options for musicians in Japan. The under $1000 gear has fantastic cost performance. As soon as you go over the $1000 mark and get into the boutiques here it gets insane. Momose, STR, Dragonfly, Sugi (and that’s just naming a few) make incredible instruments in Japan.

    Yes youre right they not only were OEM for Fender Japan, but even some Fender USA lines in the 80s and some Gibson lines in the 80s, and some top shelf Ibanez lines still to his day - they did Joe Satriani's Chromeboys and Steve Vai's GEMS. I live 10 minutes from the FGN factory in Japan - some say it's in the top 5 factories on Earth. I did a factory tour there (which they do on fridays to anyone who is interested) and i saw one of the Satriani Chromeboy models still on display. i bought 3 FGN guitars there at the showroom - a strat a tele and a supertele (more like a megatele) - absolute beast 24 fret semi baritone length with two EMG humbuckers - in fact it looks very similar in overall style to the translucent choclate color of the bass you have there in this vid. Quality of all 3 is awesome.

    Not sure if it is even comparable, but for functionality and sound I would love to compare this to the (often spoken, but never shown by many bassists) G&L L2000. I found their website, the tuners are Gotohs. Interesting info, the mount their frets at a slight curve so the fret wire is at 90 degrees to the strings. They do this as the strings fan in a conical shape from the nut to the neck. They have some beautiful instruments that appear well built and sound great. Is there a review of this bass before the EMG mod? Curios as to how they sound stock. I primarily play a 5 string and noticed the specs say they have a 19mm spacing at the bridge, that seems a bit wide. If you know, is that a misprint? I cant seem to find any additional info. BTW you are one of my go-to channels.

    • @LowEndLobster
      @LowEndLobster  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Joseph! Thank you for the info on the tuners. The EMGs here are 100% stock. The 'Dark Evolution' version of the Mighty Jazz features the EMGs and 24 frets where the standard has 22 frets and Seymour Duncans. I do have the Duncan model that I just got in last week, have an unboxing video and subsequent review coming :). In regards to the 5's, that's 100% accurate. My friend has a 5'er and the spacing is indeed 19mm!

    7:06 - Is it more like an 60's Jazz Neck, more like an Ibanez Atlas or more like an "theoretically" Sandberg Jazz Neck 🤔😅 - I try to get an Music Man style of tone with a slim 38mm nut, but with better comfort of playability without the price of an Music Man Sterling (the Sterling by Musicmans are only good with the 43mm imo)
