[4K] Na'vi River Journey Ride, join us as we take you on the visually stunning Na'vi River Journey, a peaceful boat ride located in Pandora - The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World.
The Na'vi River Journey attraction is a tranquil journey through the bioluminescent rainforest of Pandora, where you’ll encounter the breathtaking beauty and mystical creatures of this alien world.
Na'vi River Journey opened on May 27, 2017, alongside Avatar Flight of Passage as part of the grand opening of Pandora - The World of Avatar. This gentle boat ride takes guests on a journey deep into the heart of Pandora’s bioluminescent rainforest, showcasing the vibrant plant life, exotic creatures, and the harmonious relationship between the Na'vi and their environment. The ride is designed to immerse guests in the sights and sounds of Pandora, with stunning visuals and a fantastic musical score.
Guests board a woven reed boat and glide down the Na'vi river, passing under glowing canopies of bioluminescent flora and encountering various native animals, such as Viperwolves and Woodsprites. The highlight of the ride is the appearance of the Shaman of Songs, a Na’vi spiritual leader who serenades guests with an uplifting song that reflects the deep connection between the Na’vi and the natural world. The Shaman of Songs is brought to life using one of Disney’s most advanced Audio-Animatronics figures, adding a touch of realism to the mystical experience.
Pandora - The World of Avatar is inspired by James Cameron’s 2009 film Avatar, which was groundbreaking in its use of visual effects and 3D technology. The film is set on the alien moon of Pandora, where humans seek to mine valuable resources, leading to a conflict with the indigenous Na’vi people. Avatar was a massive success, becoming the highest-grossing film of all time until it was surpassed by Avengers: Endgame in 2019. The film’s themes of environmentalism, cultural respect, and the harmony between nature and technology are beautifully reflected in the design of Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
In addition to the Na'vi River Journey, Pandora - The World of Avatar features other attractions such as Avatar Flight of Passage, as well as themed dining and shopping experiences like the Windtraders store. Fans of the Avatar franchise will also be excited to know that during the D23 Expo 2024, Disney announced new Avatar attractions coming to Disneyland California

Thank you, it's currently 36 degrees heat where we are, the walkthroughs are extremely tough in that heat, and trying to cool the cameras while filming is a losing battle 🥵🥵, but it's nice to know these efforts are appreciated ❤️
