The first 1 1/2 minutes could be reduced to about 15 seconds. Use Haynes manuals. Not sure about web-based content, but the manuals seem to "assume" too much. Could be far more explicit in detail.

My 2012 Escape does NOT have front and rear under shields as in this video. It has only a front shield. Also, in the video, all retaining bolts on the shields are easily accessible. One bolt on my 2012 is far to the rear, really high up, and almost impossible to get to unless the car in on a rack.

that is because they removed it permanently because they did not want to constantly removing it and putting it back every time they do an oil change, or undercarriage service.
i had to purchase a new air damn, and new air dam screws . because it keeps the undercarriage clean from road debris, and the air dam also has a funnel channel to force air to the exhaust manifold pipe, to keep it cool and from over heating.
always check after a undercarriage service to make sure that the air dam and all the screws are back in place. 9 metal air dam screws , they are black. i spray painted mine while the air dam was off, the screws were in place and i painted it a metallic silver , to identify the screws and where they go.
the air dam screws do have a tendancy of stripping out the plastic square inserts. so it is good to purchase new ones. unless you do it yourself, always turn the screw backwards until you hear a tiny pop or click noise, then screw it inwards. it goes back in its threaded seat. and the plastic square insert will last longer.

If you need a manual to show you how to open the bonnet, you probably shouldn't be servicing your own transmission.

Probably best to do every 30K. But, since this is for 2017 and it's now 2023...

My Escape 2011 will be flat towed behind my motorhome. I believe there is a technical bulletin for these cases? Can you explain ? Thanks

if your car is front wheel drive only , then the rear wheels will be fine rolling along as it is being towed from the front.
if it be a intelligent 4 wheel drive, then having someone driving it for you, is a better choice.
or get a car toting trolly that can be pulled as like pulling a trailor.

@@deborahcuster8142 I've got the hands on a Ford Technical Bulletin which explains that you need to take out 2 quarts of transmission fluid and you'll be fine. We went to Alaska towing this vehicle and after 10,000 miles it runs great.

I will never buy a Ford again. This is crazy. From now I have to make sure that there is a dip stick to check engine oil as well as transmission fluid.

@MrCMVikram that's too bad, all 8 of my 2015 fleet Escapes are still in use with 275k miles on them and the transmissions have never been serviced, just oil changes every 7500, but make sure you never buy a reliable vehicle again😂

Am I able to use Mobil 1 transmission fluid? The bottle said it can be used by ford vehicles, I have a 2011 Ford Escape.

No because it could of been low if it needed a quart more ur not knowing the trans can be low and you can cause damage that’s why u check the fill I run and then check it just to make sure

@@Why...So...Stupid... need to make sure when it’s jacked up it’s level. So take a measurement before jacking it up. Then when it’s jacked up make sure it’s same height.

Yeah I wasn't totally up to speed how your supposed to check it the 2nd without jacking or lifting the car back up. Just put in what came out as long as it isn't leaking.

@@_clownworld He counts the teeth on the jack. The same amount all around = level.
