    If you have been thinking about finally doing something about your bothersome dark spots, clouds and other shadows in your vision, you may have many questions about what to expect at your first evaluation and consultation visit with The Floater Doctor.
    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
    The Floater Doctor, James H. Johnson M.D. is Medical Director of the only medical practice in the world specializing in, and exclusively treating bothersome spots, shadows, and clouds that affect your vision. Although common, especially changes such as posterior vitreous detachment (PVDs) as we age, these vitreous eye floaters are rarely offered treatment by your local and otherwise well-qualified eye care providers, even at top specialty institutions. Dr. Johnson uses a specialized FDA-approved YAG laser to vaporize and destroy the proteins in the vitreous that are responsible for your spots, shadows, and moving blurred areas in your vision. He has been doing so since 2007 making him one of, if not the most experienced in the very specialty niche area in ophthalmology, a pioneer in this field.

      Sorry. No. The skill set is very specific and takes a ton of practice and experience to even get competent. In spite of the laser-manufacturer's marketing material, it is not enough to own the laser even if you are a super-competent cataract/lasik/retina surgeon. I hear stroies all the time now of people receiving homeopathic-levels of treatment by their local ophthalmologist with no noticeable effect.

      I recently moved my office from California to the State of Texas. It was 6 months to get a Texas Medical License here. I can not imagine then the difficulty of getting permission to practice medicine in another country with no fluency in the language there. I would have to be sponsored by a local university hospital staff or by the government possibly. I do not have any plans to do so anytime soon.

    I have had this condition for 14 years and it is terrible, so many days ruined by the eyefloaters so much stress so much suffering depression, and the doctors only tell you to get used to it, like this is an aging process as this were a wrinkle on the face, Noooo this is something that medicine should have investigated years ago, help so many people who have had this terrible condition for years, such as EYEFLOATERS, and this it is not something you can get used to, it is something that many years ago should have been solved, and prevented so much suffering in those who suffer of this condition

And now I being so stressed hearing the story. Doctor told me mine is microscopic and not seen any near to retina. 😮. But I see a huge cluster , How about you, have you checked on this ? By the way I am from Singapore and there are doctors treating the condition with laser.

    Do you accept younger patients (in their 20s or early 30s)?

    • @Thefloaterdoctor1
      @Thefloaterdoctor1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Generally, 'no'. At least I remain very discouraging to younger patients as they are very rarely good candidates for laser trestment.

    Hi Dr. Johnson what type of insurance do you take

    • @Thefloaterdoctor1
      @Thefloaterdoctor1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't. Medical insurers are very fickle about lasering eye floaters and most of the time will not pay.

    Beside causing problem with your eye sight. What else Can floaters affect to eyes ?

    • @Thefloaterdoctor1
      @Thefloaterdoctor1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Assuming the floaters are typical and not part of a more complex problem involving the retina or infection or inflammation, then the floayers only cause subjective symptoms. They are not usually part of an eye health problem.
