You're correct about him being able to fight, it wasn't because he was respected though it was because he was feared, big difference.
Peter Fury was respected and Peter was the one with the millions before Tyson was a thing.

My boxing coach also from England spoke very highly of Joe and how humble he is.
he must've been ok he was Iron Mikes Sparring Partner.

Well he admitted himself he wasn't a first class boxer. But what he did show in this interview at least is that he appears to be a first class human being.

I don't really know anything about Joe Egan but its easy to see a good man there, honest, openly emotional & has his principles. I enjoy hearing him talk & he has good stories to tell. I have a lot of respect for the man & I hope he gets his fight with John.

Never heard of this gentlemen before , and don't follow boxing closely , but his humility and very evident compassionate disposition impress me mightily . An admiral human being . Qualities one doesn't often see in those involved in that combative culture .

The thing that really gets me about Fury (John) is that he acts like he was this legend back in his day. His record was 8-4-1, and he fought only one top heavyweight and he was brutally knocked out in the 3rd round!! He's a legend in his own mind and he's desperately trying to live through his son who is a great boxer but also seems to have his own demons that he's battling. Both men should be in therapy if they're not already but especially John.
