What a down to earth kid and hearing him reflect brought tears to my eyes. As a father, I can only wish that my kids can reflect on me so fondly.

I remember this interview. The way Jungle Boy described his dad gave me a different perspective of Luke Perry. Far more down to earth than I thought, given he was Dylan from 90210. And a Dusty Rhodes fan as well.

Agreed, whether people want to admit it or not he's the future of Pro Wrestling. I do see him dropping the Jungle Boy name fairly soon though and going back to "Jungle" Jack Perry.

Been watching AEW since the first Double or Nothing PPV and NEVER KNEW Luke Perry was Jungle Boys father. Awesome and incredible to hear! His father would be so proud
They never really hid it.... He was called "Jungle" Jack Perry for the first few months in AEW and J.R. used to mention his dad on Dynamite because he and Luke were friends because Luke was such a HUGE wrestling fan.
This was absolutely fascinating!! His dad was on the Hollywood cultural icon chain, that went from James Dean to Fonzie to Dylan McKay.

I wasn't a massive 90210 fan BUT I always loved Luke Perry and his acting abilities. He was so talented and had a presence. His son is like that when wrestling. He's not an over the top lunatic, but he has immense talent and ability! You KNOW Papa Luke is looking down PROUD AS A DAD CAN BE! YOU DID GOOD KID!

Luke Perry is awesome and actually Luke knew a lot of professional wrestlers including the great late Ric Drasin aka the Equalizer.
I love it I use a zip tie time to time and I love the fact his dad was so humble because it made JB what he is and we are losing the world due to people not teaching that even more so in famous ppl this makes me happy and really sad at the same time

Hard to believe this kid grew up in a Hollywood environment. I see glimpses of it once in a great while, but he certainly isn't defined by it. His uncomfortable perception of his Dad comes from the environment that he grew up in. From the way it sounds his Dad was looked down on because he still had "Low Class" attitudes. It's amazing how judgmental the "Woke Elite" are. Im sure he heard all kinds on nonsense and that's what makes Jack think his Dad was an embarrassment.
Unfortunately, Vanilla Boy could not promo to save his life. The only way he’ll ever get over is to turn heel and up his promo game.
