Aron, I'm aware that this week marks the 20th anniversary of your ordeal, and so, on the off-chance that you see this, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for sharing your story with the world. I first became aware of you in 2010 with the release of '127 Hours', and upon seeing a preview for the film, was immediately struck by the imagery I saw: a lone man in a seemingly hopeless and isolated conundrum, his arm wedged between a large boulder and a narrow canyon wall, as the camera zoomed out to reveal nothing but barren landscape in all directions. As striking as this imagery was, what captured my attention even more was the promise that this was, in fact, a true story. Immediately, I had to know more, and thus began my dive into your tale. I saw the film, and was thoroughly taken aback by its harrowing content, slick editing, and ultimately life-affirming message. Subsequently, I read your book, and was once again moved by your first-hand account of what you went through; the lows and highs alike, your wit, resourcefulness, technical ingenuity, resolve, and bravery (to say nothing of your genuinely impressive skills as a writer). I have since read the book more than once, and the film has cemented itself as one of my favorites. Whenever I revisit it, by the time the credits roll, I am filled with a true sense of perspective on life and its hardships, and appreciation for those I am lucky enough to call my friends and family. As I’m sure countless people have told you over the years, I cannot imagine the harrowing struggles you had to go through in that canyon twenty years ago. But based on your writings and motivational speeches, it seems that you have long overcome those struggles, and gained from them a true zeal for life and grand appreciation for your loved ones. Your story is one of great inspiration to me and many other people, and I hope you are able to find solace in that fact. You are a true inspiration! I wish nothing but the best for you and your family, and continued success in all your life’s endeavors! Sincerest thanks, Austin Fleck
I know right?? Wow! I wish I could see more! Been so invested in this case since watching the movie. Reading the book only made me want to watch the videos more!
I'm just curious, he intially got stuck in the canyon at about 3 pm on saturday and came out at around that same hour on thursday, wouldn't that make it like 120 hours? if it truly was 127 hours wouldn't he have come out at 10 pm?
@@therealwisemysticaltreethe book explains that he includes the 7 hours after he cut his arm off. The “127 hour” mark concludes once he’s put under at the hospital
I don't know if this channel is directed by Aron Ralston himself but I hope it is because I'm going to write a comment for him. Your story seems to me the best self-improvement story I've ever heard, of clinging to the desire to live more than anything else and have the courage to resist the unthinkable and get out of it alive, you went through things that few could and even That way you keep your sense of humor and good vibes, I find it amazing and I think you are an example for me and many people. I hope that one day we can meet and take a picture. PS: I am from Mexico and I am still learning English, if they see any failure, that's why xD
Really enjoyed this video you have some Hands-On humor. And your father is a wise man it's how you respond and you respond in a very good way to your situation.
I saw your carvings in the rock, it was weird to see them. I've seen many carvings of ppl hundreds of years old along many rock faces but yours was definitely the creepiest and significant

No it felt good for him to cut his arm off
Wait a minute was that another actual video of him being stuck in the canyon? When he was talking about how he invented virtual conference?
Yeah he has a lot of footage, but he only relaxed that small one as those videos are difficult for him to watch and or are personal
Mas o filho do Aron Ralston não era só o leo
Ele tem dois, aparentemente?! Também achava que era só um. Você também é fã dele? Bacana achar um BR aqui nesse vídeo hehe
