I feel like I am THE target audience of this update, and for that I thank you. Songs of Conquest is already a terrific game all around, but the campaign mode specifically is my jam. Random skirmishes are fun, but a carefully curated for maximum fun campaign mode, with a solid story mixed in, chef's kiss. They are the kind of thing which, if done right, you could literally just continue to release campaign missions post 1.0 as paid DLC, with out anything else new, and you'd be guaranteed a constant stream of my money. So yeah, hearing additional focus being placed on the campaign is extremely exciting news for a game I already love. You guys are amazing and I look forward to what is to come.
guys, dont sweat the delays, ive said this before - nice that you have this attitude and (i think i can speak for everyone) players can wait until it is really ready
Great game. Keep up with a good work. And yeah AI behaviour needs some fixes as it's just has 1 pattern: torpedo player each game ignoring all other development options. Campaign is great overall, challenging, sometimes hard, I have no issues with it.
@@SongsofConquest Thank you for responding. I understand it’s super hard. However, I would like you to keep it in mind if many people ask for it or the opportunity and resources are available in the future. Good luck with the game! I hope you get a lot of awards for your hard work!
This game is already half as good as HOMM 3 and it is in early access and still developing...I can´t wait for the full release + DLCs/expansions with new factions, capaigns, creatures...It could be the only game i need forever🤣
Optimize the game asap. It's abnormal that a 2d makes a pc with a gtx 3070 16 gigs of ram and a core i7, lag this much by turn 90 on big maps (and crashes). I have a better experience running Strarcitizen on high!
You might want to check compatibility between components... maybe? Because, other than that, I don't know what to tell you as neither of my PCs are experiencing that far past turn 90 on large maps, and one has a GTX1070 (8GB) 32GB RAM, i7-3930K, but the other is... we'll just say a *fully lesser laptop, closer to an electronic paperweight than a PC. XD
@@lucasturney4269 and all of my friends that I play with (4) all have issue in late game on big maps. Lag or ai getting stuck in ending turn or other stuff…
Froggy campaign, still stuck on the map where you reach your home city and get your second hero. Getting absolutely curb stomped by the AI 20 turns in. Extreme hockey stick of a difficulty curve... (PS. Hej från 30 min söder om Göteborg!)
Are you guys really planning for DLC of up to 10 factions ? Really !? That would be awesome. I mean, it's almost as many factions as the latest Horn of The Abyss. Although, honestly, I feel SoC is more of a (much needed)Disciples series successors than HoMM.
We've always wanted to do more factions. A lot of the future will be based on how the 1.0 release works out for us! We spend everything we make into improving the game right now!
Hi Songs of Conquest team, I was very excited about your game, especially with the initial information about the return to classic turn-based strategy and possibly surpassing the mechanics of "Heroes 3 of Might and Magic." I didn't perceive it as ordinary marketing, but rather as the revival and remake of my dreams. Unfortunately, I was disappointed because there are too few heroes, and the ones that are present are off-putting in their appearance. The combat is excellent, as is the economy and unit management, but the pixel art is a hindrance. Currently, I find myself going back more often to "Heroes 3 of Might and Magic: Horn of the Abyss," especially since they added a new faction (Factory). Similarly, your unit design is bothersome, even if it weren't pixel art. It's a departure from the classical art inspired by the history of ancient Greece and Rome. Inspired by classical mythologies and folklore, mainly European. I want to support you, and I'd gladly purchase your next game or DLC for Songs of Conquest. However, I encourage you to enter into a phase of conceptual experiments with graphics similar to or inspired by "Heroes 3." If you succeed in this, please fulfill what I call a "dream remake."
Very weird opinion. HoMM 3 makes my eyes bleed after playing SoC. Everything is visually polished better than HoMM 3, from the UI to the graphics. It is a modernized HoMM3, there is no need for a remake of HoMM 3. If you want to play HoMM 3, I suggest you play HoMM 3. It is clear you don't want a new game.
@@Quplas I didn't understand what I wrote earlier. Songs of Conquest is a game released over 20 years after Heroes 3. The refreshed formula of turn-based strategy mechanics in Songs of Conquest offers a very good combat system, army management, economy, and city development (it seems to be an improvement over the outdated formula from the Heroes series). It's worth maintaining these strengths and perhaps exploring a new game without the inaccessible pixel art. I also see no reason to attack "Heroes 3 of Might and Magic: Horn of the Abyss." I don't want to criticize Songs of Conquest either, as through constructive feedback, we can create a "dream remake." (Note that even with pixel art, the animations are very good, but conceptual experiments with a different artistic style could offer many more possibilities.)
@@skillaxxx It may sound like a desire for a mod for Heroes 3, but I prefer to appreciate the serious and differentiating changes that Songs of Conquest brings, even if the music is too calm. Perhaps I am echoing some opinions from industry magazines about Pixel art in Songs of Conquest, and maybe I am accepting their thesis about why this game became niche despite raising the hopes of many turn-based strategy fans and Heroes 3 enthusiasts. However, I am convinced that the future does not end with 'maybe and Heroes 3.' I would like to see Songs of Conquest 2 where the graphics will not be the only difference from Songs of Conquest 1 but will be accessible in representing the new potential of the game and its mechanics. Design will simply become the key to a larger player base. Please, carry out experiments in conceptual work and design. Of course in 2D

Thanks for the update. I love the game. I love your backdrop with the Song of Conquest minions and the sneaky little HOMM3 box hiding in the back.
It is very very sneaky.

Btw, I would love some songs of conquest stickers to put on my laptop. :D
I'll write it up with the merch ideas!

I really like SoC but I have a BIG ask: please, please, please consider an option/mod/update with clean/non plixel/HD graphics.
It's just super hard to do looking at how we started with it.

more heroes is really important, if you cant add another faction could you add another unit for each faction? more spells?
