Tim Simenon is never given enough recognition for the magic he did himself and inspired in others, without his lead so many tunes and bands would simply never have existed.
Lyrics Don't make me wait (Hold your body, ah) Don't make me wait With your body so close to mine Is there anything I need to know? 'Cause when I feel oh, so warm inside Is that love that you, I need to show I could give in, surrender, surrender Come on, baby, you know it's alright I could give in, surrender, surrender Come on, baby, you know it's alright Baby, don't make me wait Don't let me stay in and out of love Baby, don't make me wait Don't let me stay in and out of love With your heartbeat so close to mine I begin to feel my passion grow A new love is so hard to find So why won't you be my Romeo? I could give in, surrender, surrender Come on, baby, you know it's alright I could give in, surrender, surrender Come on, baby, you know it's alright Baby, don't make me wait Don't let me stay in and out of love Baby, don't make me wait Don't let me stay in and out of love Kid Dynamite, come on, break it down (Hold your body) (Hold your body) Give a little time, baby, and you'll be mine I know you'll be mine Baby, don't make me wait Don't let me stay in and out of love Baby, don't make me wait Don't let me stay in and out of love Come on, baby, come on, baby Come on, baby, now Please don't make me wait Baby, don't make me wait Oh, it's not too late Don't let me stay in and out of love Just gimme a little time Baby, don't make me wait And, baby, you'll be mine Don't let me stay in and out of love Baby, don't make me wait You know, you gotta surrender, surrender Don't let me stay in and out of love Come on, baby Baby, don't make me wait Drive me crazy Don't let me stay in and out of love Yeah, yeah
Hard to believe that Tim Simenon was only 17 or so and this was his first album. I was about the same age at the time and a country boy from Victoria, Australia. This album was a part of musical awakening. There was no internet, just the crap played on the local radio station. I moved to Melbourne, started buying imports from Central Station and the rest as they say, is history. Thanks Tim
Fellow Melbournian here. l remember hearing this and Cookie Crew Rok Da House at Inflations downstair circa 1990 and also bought the LP from Central Station Records on Flinders Street. Good times.
Similar story for me, regional fnq and saw this on Rage, missing the intro, thought the song was called surrender, didn't find it for years later, happy I did :)
Hey You! With all those dynamite beats, it's easy to shake It even if you're on the cut. I don't have to say a little prayer for, all you gotta do is beat dat!
Erm, the Uk charts were full of tracks that sounded like this in the late eighties…. TS was very talented, but decades ahead of his time? Says more about you than him I suspect…
Who is listening to this track in 2019. Dec 16th to be exact? This has been on repeat in the car for the last 48hrs.. brings back so many good memories from my school days.. the best days of your life!!!
why does everyone think this is Lorraine McIntosh when this is the vocal artist LAURAINE, first off Lorraine mcintosh is scottish and Lauraine is american, secondly Lorraine is white and Lauraine is black. lol i find it funny that its been widely posted across the net on official sites and wrongly assumed its Lorraine McIntosh from Deacon Blue when she has never worked with Tim Simenon of Bomb the Bass ;D
I remember this track well and always really liked it....To all those who think this is pioneering, ahead of it's time etc please note that this track is the UK version of freestyle (a musical style that was very big in the states at the time)...So it was not that pioneering - it's just that freestyle was not that big in the UK unfortunately...I heard freestyle all over the place when I was in the states around this time and it was so so good and catchy....the best musical style ever in my opinion.
No! just a UK latin Freestyle track like Domino dancing is... in fact Domino dancing is not really a Uk freestyle track cause it was produced in the US by lewis martinée a well known fresstyle producer in florida
TH-cam is a time machine. Took me right back to being 18 dancing like a clown. Waves of nostalgia ! I had an Amiga 500 in ‘90 and tried to replicate this kind of sound and failed miserably.....
The late 80s song that sounds like an early 80s song which still sounds awesome in 2022. Genius!!!
Absolute game changers ❤.if any of you are about still around send a " im good " ❤

Tim Simenon please come back to the music industry , we miss you

Word up!!!!! Tru say bredda
I agree
I literally said exactly this to two friends this week and now I see you’ve written exactly the same!
Way ahead of his time man ...
But you know Shannon - Let the music play? It's from 1983 and has all the main ingredients to make this track. But I do agree Tim is great.
This and Megablast - possibly the greatest double A-side single of all time.
Possibly the most spot on quote ever👍👍👍🎵🎶🎧
And proud to still own an original copy from its day one release!

@gra foeh if you're too remedial to follow the chat, then ask the nearest adult to explain the relevance to you, ms keyboard warrior.

True !!!
APLandrover I agree!
Of his time ffs
Erm, the Uk charts were full of tracks that sounded like this in the late eighties…. TS was very talented, but decades ahead of his time? Says more about you than him I suspect…
Tim was a visionary. Going to New York, and writing the lyric, "Come on, surrender, surrender!" Very timely, in 2020. 😳
that kick, that bass, those vocals! What a great time for electronic dance music!
Omg...I am transported back to my youth in the 80ies and am getting my life together...😄😄
Awesome. Channeling Shannon from the early eighties. Awesome tunes.
This riff and the one from "Domino Dancin' " by Pet Shop Boys are quite similar - both songs are great.
This music is part of my life. Thanks Bomb the bass. Congratulations.
That bass line, those vocals and that freestyle scratch, awesome tune. Be sure to check out the "Maximum Frequency" remix of this track too......
Essa musica foi a trilha sonora da minha adolescencia
An absolutely massive club classic!!! It was way ahead of it's time when it was released and still sounds current.
Totally agree!! I was 10 and me and my best mate thought we were proper bo styles clubbers dancing in her bedroom to this 7" on her record player!
