  • Can a dome be nomadic?
    Join us as we learn how to build a dome. We started construction on this dome in August 2022. In this video you see the basic structure of the dome being built. The next phase will be to install doors, windows and insulation. The final stage will be to tear it all down again, move it, and rebuild it. 💪🏽
    Dome specs:
    7.5 meter diameter
    40 m2
    3 frequency

    How many hours would you guess you had in strut cutting and pre assembly prep? Very cool 😎!

    Did you use or make plans for this structure? If so can you share those plans? Thank you!

    I met a man up on a mnt top in Kentucky, who built, "A Geometric Dome", from th Cedar growing on his property. He harvested, & cut or milled it all to size, & built it in about 3 weeks. Working by himself. His total cost for materials, was about $2,000.00 U.S.$. He had 3 windows & a door. 2 windows about 4 feet off th floor, & one up in th ceiling, that worked like hatch opening. It a 12 floor, with a 9-10 foot ceiling. B-Strong, B n CHRIST.

    is the base completely flat ? Frequency 3 normally is not. should be the15 bars touching the floor I meant

      The base is as flat as possible! However, the structure of the dome doesn't sit on the base. It sits on 15 wooden "feet" that are placed around the base (on the outside of it). I hope that makes sense!

      Hey! The brackets and hubs are made locally here in Bulgaria. If you're interested you can contact Spherica - they also ship abroad. facebook.com/groups/sphericageodome/

      @loving_harp  ปีที่แล้ว

      Right now, nothing. We're waiting for spring. (: The dome will be for living in though!

    How much is a dome home and who builds them

    • @loving_harp
      @loving_harp  ปีที่แล้ว

      The price depends a lot on where you're located and what kind materials you decide to use. We built our dome ourselves so we saved on labor costs as well. I'm sure you can find some information about domes in your area. propertyclub.nyc/article/dome-homes#:~:text=This%20can%20vary%20greatly%20depending,size%20and%20style%20you%20choose.

    Everyone knows the hub is the hardest thing. Y do you leave that most important detail out.

      At 0:40 you can see the brackets that we put on each piece. These were connected using the round metal pieces that you can see at 2:05. They are connected with bolts so that disassembly (and reassembly) will be easier.

    not like this.
    if you use tubes you can spare hubs using bolt in the vertex and it is much more compact to carry.

    if you will use wood struts and hubs perhaps this is simpler
