Everyone here saying this is too aggressive and Don is better is missing the point lol. Of course Don is a better singer, but notice that Don copied the phrasing and melodies created by Jeff almost exactly on the final album version. This is one of Jeff and George's demos brought to Don that made it to the album.
There is a old interview where George says they rehearsed a lot as a 3piece , with heavier tempos w/ Jeff handling all the vocals, Im sure there are recordings of those sessions hiding somewhere.
@@mottosierra1372There are interviews where Jeff is saying Juan played on a couple of tunes, but most of the bass lines were recorded by the bass player from the band Accept.
This goes for all dokken/pilson fans here. I need a cd or cdr copy of all jeff pilson demos from pre-dokken through their 'back for the attack' eras. Please let me know. Thx.
Musically, this is great. Pilson however, mightve added abit too much "aggression " vocally. Its not terrible and ive heard jeff sing many times. This is not one of his finer moments
Having heard this and maybe two other demos by Jeff, yet never hearing him sing this way on the official releases, I'm now starting to wonder if he sang the way he did on the demos to tryi to match what he hoped Don would do and push Don to go a bit heavier. ?!?
Love the song. But, Jeff's singing is like- screaming like Bon Scott... Not a fan of this style of singing. Jeff's vocals were better in War and Peace.
Heart it . Not good. Cheese vocals. no real delivery. Trying to sound dynamic. failed. Don was great. even with a softer approach.he was at times tough.
Wish Pilson had had a band where he was on vocals in the 80s. Hes so damn good.
The riff Lynch has going in this song is freaking sick!!!
Whoa this version kicks serious ass! Always felt Pilson never got the recognition he deserved, he had some good pipes.
Watch Dokken unplugged even Mik sings excellent
Jeff Pilson and George wrote 90% of Dokkens music, Lyrics and Music everything!
Love jeff's vocals!!

JEff was probably the best vocalist in the band, Dokken underappreciated as probably the most talented band from that ERA
He doesnt get enough love for his demos. I dig them. I imagine a slightly heavier dokken when I hear them
Thank god Don did the vocals on the album.
you don't know what are you saying my friend.
I love his voice. I love you Jeff.❤️😍😘 You rocks! 🎸😎
Jeff has the pipes

Absolutely LOVE Pilson on this. That aggression just adds something!
Sounds like blackie lawless from WASP lol. Different but awesome
Sounds like Bon Scott to me
Heavy Metal voice!!!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhh 🤗 love it!
It's good, but I like that Don recorded the "Tooth an Nail" version
Under lock and key version
Both times I've seen Foreigner the singer has mistakenly called Jeff a founding member of Dokken.
Why would they Juan to do that?
According to Don and Lynch Juan never recorded with Dokken

You'll have to forgive him. Tribute bands often aren't the sharpest tools in the shed
Amazing demo. The song structure was already there. They only needed to work on a better quality recording and better vocal takes.
I like a lot of pilsons vocals but it's a little harsh here. Like Axl Rose is singing. Lol
i love his vocals sounds really rough and heavy
This sounds like udo from accept
lol - absolutely not.

Watch Dokken unplugged ❤
I like Pilson, he always gives great interviews, very good bass player, but this vocal is rough.....Don's voice is hard to match
I have to agree nobody touched Don in the day but I love this take. Just raw!
Too much strong... perfect 6 am all days at full tone
Jeff is not terrible but he's a generic 80's falsetto scream voice. No melismatic notebending, no smooth vibrato.
That version is really great you can definitely tell it's not don
AXXXXXX
So Don copied Jeff’s vocals?? Hmmm..
Un peu comme Gene Simmons ou Blackie de WASP, le bassiste est aussi bon chanteur que le lead vocals d'une manière différente.
I prefer Dokken voice. More sweet. When you know the album, I think the voice of Pilson is not adapted to the concept.
Is the full version of this available anywhere? MAN...hahaha
Musically, this is great. Pilson however, mightve added abit too much "aggression " vocally. Its not terrible and ive heard jeff sing many times. This is not one of his finer moments
I like Jeff too, but have to agree with you

No solo?😥
Don wasn't available 😁
I see why Jeff wasn't lead😂
Yikes.
I much prefer Don Dokken on the mic.
Rough and heavy its the way Pilson its king
Why does this exist ?
Why it shouldn't?
@@mabros78 Just curious why pilson is singing
I think random jams tho Pilson have band witch he sings after dokken
@@mabros78 its a demo dude im sure its to present his tune to the band hes a writer thats what they do

Bon is one of the greatest. I dig this version. Get fastway vibes
Once again Don Dokken said he wrote this song and every other Dokken hit.He never wrote anything.George and Jeff wrote every song!

More proof that Don is a liar about his 100% writing everything on every album. Don the liar.
