Soyeon has been since debut the person who has written and composed all of their songs, but in the recent years Yuqi and Minnie have also started writing and producing for the group :)
Also yes, for the most part, Soyeon does everything herself. It's only recently that the rest of the members have become more involved. There's a short video that came out last week, of Soyeon holding a meeting to present (G)I-DLE's next album. It's actually very fascinating to see her present her ideas/concepts. She's not called a genius for nothing 😂 here's the link just in case you're curious lol - th-cam.com/video/uvLpTpTzqMs/w-d-xo.html
I'm coming in a bit late here, but Yuqi definitely said Russian because of the outfit. She actually isn't Korean either though, (G)I-DLE has a really interesting mix of nationalities. Foreign members are not that common in kpop, you have a single one in a group here and there or maybe half Korean members. In this group however only Soyeon and Miyeon are Korean. Minnie is Thai, Yuqi is Chinese and Shuhua is Taiwanese. The trainee period is even more intense if you have to learn Korean in addition to all the other training. It has been a while, but i'd love if you could check out some more of their music. I would recommend "Oh my god" next, one of their best songs and MVs. They also had a 90s US hip hop concept before, which might be interesting for you. That one is called "Uh-Oh".
Bullying in Korea is so serious because of the extent it can go to. If it doesn’t stop the person could kill themselves and if the person reports it the bully is in a whole court case and could land themselves in jail. This is because the amount of physical abuse that bullies in Korea do, for example cutting the person or threatening to throw them of the school roof, threatening to hurt family, they have no restraint . That’s why in K-pop the member will be temporarily be removed then they will investigate if the allegations were true. In this case the allegations were false
So I actually did watch that performance, but I had to cut it from my reaction video because TH-cam was blocking my video, I tried editing around it but it just wouldn't work so I took the whole thing out.
“ sanpaku eyes” are eyes that you can see the white of the eye either above or below the Iris. Many eyelid types cover over the space just above or below the Iris…the ones that don’t are “ sanpaku eyes”

So a more detailed background on why Soojin is no longer in the group: Around February of last year, there was a slew of bullying allegations in the Kpop industry. Every day for almost an entire week, Kpop idols were being accused of bullying in their school days. Soojin was one of the very first Kpop idols that was hit with these allegations. Besides being a bully in middle school, she was also accused of smoking and stealing. Due to the severity of the situation, she was put on hiatus by their company, Cube Entertainment. While on hiatus, an actress that went to the same school as Soojin, fueled some bullying allegations by posting cryptic Instagram stories, alluding to the fact Soojin had bullied her. After some time, Soojin put out her own statement, admitting to smoking only once out of curiosity. She also admitted to knowing one of the accusers, stating they used to be friends, but fell out after an argument they had. She denied pretty much everything else, including not knowing the actress. In her statement she also said that she made attempts to get in contact with the accuser/ex friend, but they denied. Anyway, the company released a statement as well, saying they would pursue legal action against the accusers. At this point, there was a lot of scrutiny from the Korean general public and some of her old schoolmates made some statements defending her. Some people started looking into the allegations being made against her and everything could pretty much be debunked. There are even some videos on TH-cam and TikTok that detail and debunk every allegation made against her. For months, the fans waited for any sort of update on the situation, but nothing came about, until finally the company released another statement saying Soojin was leaving the group. For most people, it didn't make sense that she left on her own, especially after saying she was willing to fight in court. That being said, Cube Entertainment has a track record of kicking out their artists when a situation get rough, so everyone has pretty much accepted that she was kicked out. Not long after, some Instagram DMs by the actress were leaked where she says she wasn't sure if Soojin was a part of the group of people that bullied her. Fast-forward to March of this year, (G)I-DLE announced that they were coming back as a five member group, with their first full album, I NEVER DIE. Cube Entertainment releases another statement, this time saying Soojin's contract with the company had been terminated. As for the investigation, it determined that they found the accusers not guilty of not spreading false information, due to the fact that everything happened a long time ago, therefore nothing could be verified. Whether Soojin is innocent or not, the Korean general public has made up their mind on her and everyone knows, once their mind is made up on something, it's pretty hard to change it. If you're wondering where Soojin is at now, we sadly can't tell you. Nobody has seen or heard from her since her statement. It seems that she has pretty much left the entertainment industry and we don't know if she's ever coming back. There was a post at the beginning of everything, that seemed to be from her aunt, where she said that Soojin's family had moved in with her out of fear she was going to take her own life. Though, we don't if the person who posted that statement really was her aunt, so we can't say for sure that's what happened. Recently her case has been getting more attention from the Korean general public and it seems that some people are starting to take her side, though the majority are still "iffy" on the whole thing. Having been the most popular member of the group, a lot of fans still have hope that she'll return some day in the distant future.
Sorry for the very long comment, I just wanted to clear some things up. Believe it or not, this is just a summed up version of everything that happened; there's a lot I didn't mention.
no thank you for taking the time to explain. That's so wild. I know things are run differently over in Korea, but yea that hardly seems like a good reason for the girl to get the boot. I'm sure that was not an easy time.
@@ALovelyPenguin This is the same as the Me too movement, the original intention is to protect women's rights, but some people will manipulate this issue to create false evidence to attack others or divert public attention to cover up a bigger scandal.
@@ALovelyPenguin yeah and it also really hurt the other member beacuse everyone in this groupe is close to each other, Shuhua (the youngest from the group) came to Korea when she was 16 years old and she didn't even knew Korean, no one really wanted to talk to her and then Soojin came and she take care of Shuhua and was talking to her even if she sometimes didn't understand what Shuhua was saying and after that Shuhua was always by Soojin's side, not long ago on one of Shuhua's lives Shuhua wanted to say something about Soojin and she started saying her name but she stoped and she got emotional (the members can't talk about Soojin beacuse their company ordered them not to)
Soojin was accused of being a bully.. never proven. All there was to the case were empty accusations. And there were others who defended her. Her life was ruined over something that may or may not have been true.. so really.. who were the real bullies here..
It's fine to call them "G" Idle. The band prefers to just be called Idle, but they introduce themselves both ways. There was some marketing around the release of Tomboy, to get rid of the (G) because they didn't want to be pigeon-holed as a girl group. That said, it's probably here to stay, because "(G)I-dle" has good SEO value, especially since the word Idle in Korean means "Children" and in English means "at rest" or "lazy".
They're self-produced. They make their own songs and they write everything.

You should watch the live of lion on the queendom show, it had the whole story how to make it and the first time live of it.

BLACKPINK & G-IDLE are, in my opinion, the best kpop girl groups because they stand out among all the other groups in quality and production.
They are really great!
I agree
