I meant to mention this on the episode you took the girls on a date here, but it is worth mentioning now. I think the reason you can’t order food properly is because of the decorations on the tables. In my own gameplay experience, putting decor on the tables (no matter how small) causes a bug in the servers’ and customers’ ability to place food on them.
I took my time and spent a day rebuilding the high school to include everything it needed, only to lose it and cannot find my saves. When I say everything it needed, I mean: science labs, music room, gymnasium, theatre, bigger lunch room, swim room, more lockers in the hallway - this included adding another level and basement! AWWW! This has crushed me and now I'm not playing high school scenario just because of this! I'm so upset about this!
That's really sad. I hope you'll find inspiration to get back to it soon! I've lost a couple days of gameplay recently and didn't want to play after that because I've managed to find the love of my sim’s life during those days and now he's lost cause he was a random

The last time something similar like that happened to me, I couldnt play the Sims for a month just from the pure resentment and blinding rage (mostly just sadness) 🥲 and that was just from building a house for 3 hours, I cannot even fathom what you went through!

Carl’s Dine Out Reloaded Mod is AMAZING for restaurant gameplay. You can play as a chef and sims can order from the counter (amongst many other capabilities)
I'd love some dorms rebuilt into community lots. I never have more than 2-3 student households at a time, why would I need 3 dorm buildings per university? They're literally useless. Especially the Foxbury ones, at least Drake Hall etc are pretty from the outside.
She is just so good an visualizing how much space she has when she described the build my mind is just like there’s no way you’ll fit that. And I wonder why my lots look empty
Omg I love the outdoor theater setup. You may have inspired me to build something similar. It's actually reminding me of a this coffee shop I went to once that was converted from a Victorian house. It had a bunch of outdoor seating in the "yard." Very college town-y. So maybe I'll make my version a coffee shop/bakery and call it "Insomnia Donuts" as an homage to that ubiquitous college town chain lol. Also works because, being a theater, it would have to be also open at night.
University can be easier if you have the sims favorite music playing in the same room as them if they're doing their schoolwork. Their fun never decreases. Hope this helps :)
a tip for getting your sims fun up fast is getting them earbuds!! their fun goes up when they listen to music and you can even do that while they’re doing homework and stuff
@@christalcavanaughTechnically you'd only have to pay $10 for the rock climbing wall pack for your Sims to have earbuds. Also Expansion Packs are the $40 DLCs, and the spa pack is a Game Pack, so not quite $40. But obviously you don't have to buy anything you don't want.

Don't worry. I know a place here in CA, called Pismo Fish and Chips. They are mainly Fish and Chips but they do have a garden burger for you and a regular salad as well. As you can tell from the name of the restaurant it's located in Pismo Beach here in California.
I was traveling in CA earlier this year and while we were driving along the coast, we stopped by Pismo Beach for a little bit. We didn't have time to stop for lunch there though. I'll try to keep your recommendation in mind if I'm ever back in that area.
simsie dont worry about the build having a lot of packs! the builds that you make a with a lot of packs r much better usually (all arae amazing ofc) although a lot us of cant use them i personally love watching the tour of these builds so dont worry too much about it!
the thing you said about the tv screen breaking and just replacing it reminded me of the tv in one of the canteens at my university, every once in a while the tv disappears (we joke about it getting stolen) and then a few days they have a tv again
This build is perfection! The perfect fish & chips shop. And I know it should really be part of a row of buildings, but then you wouldn't be able to have that groovy movie screen on the side. Also, you could think of it as "The House They Left Behind" like in London, where one house remained after all the houses around it were bombed during the Blitzkrieg. At least I think that's what the house is called. This crab shack is all that's left.
I turned this lot into a renovated student house with a conservatory living room to the right and to the left, a community horsebox cafe with outdoor shaded seating, it was fun pretending to be a student housing landlord and using every square to squeeze 4 bedrooms into.
I really like this restaurant Kayla made, it’s so cute in terms of style! I haven’t bought Dine Out because everyone says it’s buggy. And on console I can picture it being even more buggy :( But now I am tempted to buy just for the building potential…

Carl's Mods Dine Out Reloaded is perfect for this. You can make it where the customers will order and pick up their own food. I love that mod. It also removes the glitches lol
Sims 2 University Pack was my favorite ever. The University packs since that I didnt like at all. Not surprised your rebuilding. Oh, you said "and older restaurant" and I immediately thought about the Blue Moon Cafe around NMSU. Yellowed droopy ceiling tiles, booths that needed replaced for years, sticky surfaces; good burgers. 😊
You're the reason I also do wallpaper last. But I've found that it does make choosing the wallpaper slightly easier because the vibe of the room depends on it so much. I do sometimes choose it first if I already have one in mind and trying to base the vibe on it.
As someone who’s trying to convert to a vegetarian, I find it really intimidating. I’d totally watch a video of just Kayla explaining how to get started and like good staples and recipes and stuff. Also how to figure out where you can eat. (Which prompted this whole comment)
Vegetarian diets definitely aren't for the faint of heart!! I went vegetarian a few years ago and almost died due to a severe iron-deficiency lol. So my advice... Eat tons of broccoli, spinach etc!
There are multiple places on campus where they have the best food but they have nearly been shut down for health code violations multiple times. Its not a university eatery without it

I lived in a campus apartment when I was going to University and would walk to the downtown area to get food sometimes, and, it’s pretty accurate to say that some restaurants would put prices outside for certain things. Or, at least prices for specials.
I worked at a seafood restaurant one summer in college (not in a college town though, just back home). We had black bean burgers on our menu. So honestly not unrealistic to have veggie burgers.
I don't have university pack, but if I did I'd rather have yours. Also, you're so close to two million subs!!! Side note, I work in a restaurant and you are nicer than most when determining the kitchen with the rubber mats. I work in a popular sit down restaurant and *corporate* doesn't see enough reason to give us comfort when putting in 7-10 hour days. So thank you 😅

Here's my unpopular opinion, restaurant aren't that buggy, but just 90% of the builds that can be found on the gallery are not made with gameplay in mind and are just bad, your restaurant is really pretty, but will be a nightmare to manage and to go eat to
I’m watching the restaurant portion and laughing because I’m not a vegan but I’m surrounded by vegans/vegetarians. I turned the Caboose bar in Evergreen Harbor into a fully vegetarian safe/lactose free restaurant so sims like my loved ones can go and eat anything off the menu safely 😂 it’s so funny how real life affects how we build
idk if you've ever worked in a restaurant but if you have you'd know the kitchen really isnt that unrealistic 😅 food on the floor, trash everywhere, disorganized clutter, cracks in the paint, that's all accurate

We have quite a lot imo, battered sausage (veggie sausage) was always my go to, but we also have veggie burgers and some places have quorn fish too (one I went to had quorn shrimp, which was wild). Then ofc chips are veggie as is the mushy peas and battered mars bars
Chips, battered mars bars etc aren't necessarily vegetarian because they're usually fried in the same oil as meat products. For some, that's a deal-breaker
The fact that there are no three compartment sinks in the entire game perplexes me. Especially with Dine Out. I've never worked in a food service environment that didn't have one and it always feels weird to not have them in my restaurants, lol
I do wish Sims 4 had a lot type that was multiuse. I enjoy making my worlds look more like cities with lots of multistory buildings. I have one build that is set as a Nightclub, but it also has a cafe, Japanese restaurant, arcade, and some small "shops".
