It looks like Nerf has finally given up and returned to the goofy toys they’re actually good at making. That said, I’m a fan of the the way the flip 8’s grip looks.
I think the flip 16 is pretty cool because you have a set of barrels facing towards you, so you can load 8 barrels loaded on the go so it’s good for scavengers.
I hope the flip 32 is good so hasbro has something going for them. The flip 8 is fun so I can’t Imagine how fun 32 darts and lever action. Gimmick center.
This is the first video I've seen of the Flip 16 where the blaster actually worked every time. The flip mechanism on ALL the others wouldn't lock in place very often.
Hey man, you're starting to look really good! You're looking far better than how you were about a year ago, and I just wanted to say that you're looking great now!
I feel like they could make a very interesting blaster if they made a blaster that could shoot 2 different ammo types and you are able to flip between the different barrel types with this system
There was a blaster, my first blast btw, that had that gimmick, you could activate the switch and fire or elite or mega darts, it was call the Dual-strike
I saw the flip 8 at the store a few weeks ago and I remember seeing it and thinking “Ok what the f is this? What’s going on with that sight? I guess I’ll see when Coop does the review.”
Yeah, you're right on that, Frank. The first Nerf blaster I really like was way back before N-Strike was a thing. Like, I loved the heck out of the Nerf Slingshot from the 90s, even though it had an effective range of 10-15 feet, but that was because it used a knocker to hit friction fitted ballistic balls with no spring (it was one of the first Bungee powered blasters well before the CrossBolt or Slingstrike). Though, the first 'modern' nerf blaster I like was the Alpha trooper, so, yeah
Sort of like the 2.0 versions of the Zombie Strike Alternator. The 8, I think the prime and barrel flip should be the other way around. I do like the fact that the 2.0s are trying now. They all should have been gimmicky like these.
I’m glad someone pointed this out. In your scenario, it would probably work more like a strong arm, with the handle ring to flip, which is a cool variation. However, I think the switch would be much better on the 16. The pump action could be the prime, and it could be moved closer to the barrel, similar to the rough cut to balance out the blaster. And the “stick prime” could be used to flip. Yes, your hand would be in the way of the flipping mechanism, but if the user uses the priming hand to use the bolt action flip as well, then it should be out of the way. And of course as pointed out in the video, the handle should be fixed to either commit to the sawed off shotgun look and feel the rough cut, or choose a more traditional, ergonomic grip. Let me know what y’all think. Have a nice day everyone.
@@geniusgamers4792 Well said! I think what the main thing for these two, was move away from the first 2.0s, and cross them with The Zombie Strikes. Meaning now we don’t have something familiar, but also gimmicky, and interesting.
i like that i can reload the "inactive barrels" from behind while firing the front once. The Flip 16 could be a nice no mag Primary with the Flip Fury as a secondary.
Tip for people with the Flip-8: You can use the flip mechanic to hide four darts inside the gun, then when you got opponents onto you, they will think that you’re vulnerable and outta ammo, but you can flip the barrel and surprise attack them with the four darts you hid in your flip-8.
Flip 8, 16 and 32 in my opinion are different styles each Flip 8: a fun gun to optimize the amount of ammo, it’s kind of like and triad but with four darts and it’s like a better secondary Flip 16: A fun primary for more ammo, not as tactical but you can shoot eight darts and in my opinion, better that nerf elite disrupter in my opinion Flip 32: a tactical gun kind of acting like a shot gun and rifle at the same time. You can select how much you want to fire but still a really good gun for when you need two bullets at once but don’t want to reload, (Close quarter situation) Flip 8 reloading: this reminds me of a triad but 4 x 2 bullets, just pull down the spring load handle and fire, in my opinion, quick and easy Flip 16 reloading: My favorite out of all of them, the fun firing, pull back, let go, fire, repeat, lots of ammo to go to and it reminds me of the disrupter but 8 x 2, in my opinion, fun to reload and shoot Flip 32 reloading: really smooth but you wont want to do it without gloves or don’t do it for a long time, really hurts after a while, but the reloading is smooth and you get to shoot 2 bullets Do you guys think it would be cool to have flip 64?
The Flip-16 has 8 barrels, not just one or two. So it's pretty safe to assume that the "average" muzzle velocity calculation is from readings across ALL EIGHT barrels. If you meant "did you pull the trigger slowly for separate readings, or quickly to fire two darts at once and cause a chronograph read error because there were two simultaneous moving objects?", well, that just seems like a dumb question. If you're worried that the muzzle velocity is DIFFERENT for a slow vs quick trigger pull, why would you think it matters? If the Flip-16 internal design is anything like a Roughcut, there are TWO INDEPENDENT plunger tubes, so firing one at a time or both at once will have no effect whatsoever on the muzzle velocity of either.
On the flip 16 you can load your darts backwards and have them ready when your front barrels are now empty so if you have a ammo belt or ammo best you can pull out a dirt and load it in
It's always bugged me that they don't supply a few extra darts. If the gun holds 16 give people 20. Especially for Nerf who is already charging premium prices.
I just saw an ad for the dart zone pro mk 2 before this video & it was awesome! Much better then an ad asking me what car insurance commercials I've seen on TH-cam recently!
Great review on both of them. Thank you so much. I’m buying these for Christmas presents and didn’t know anything about them. This helps so much. Thanks again.
Its gimmicky and silly but fairly well made in functionality, with the main downside is the Flip 16's poor ergonomics. If this is the direction that Elite 2.0 wants to go for, then why not. I have the suspicion that it wasn't originally meant to be Elite 2.0, but with the obviously massive backlash from the main lineup, they probably wanted to add something to detract from the hate

The mechanically heavier, slower reload on the 16 is really cool me personally. Feel like it conveys a feeling of a "heavy" gun in an FPS. Even kinda sounds cool when it flips. Shame it sucks.
Hy Frank! I'm glad to see that you pointed out that this hobby always had and will have a fun side, and people who just want some funny guns to play with. I jumped in this hobby with an AS Fang. The exact reason for that pick was that it looked just fun to harass my colleagues with. Since then I used many different flywheel blaster, but still : This little smart AR blaster is just very fun to use ! So I keep it in stock as a secondary. :D
I own the flip-8 and I 100% really know I broke it because I pulled the slide so hard it barrel didn’t lock so I have to adjust it to lock it, still works tho lol
Just wanted to say you look great man. Loving the hair. I’ve been away from your channel for a little while for personal reasons and just got back into the nerf hobby again.
My first NERF blaster I had was the Accustrike Quadrant. It didn’t appeal to me, but it was $10 at target. Before that, I had an off brand bow that was a jolt but without a trigger and worked like a bow. It probably shot at 20 FPS lol. Now I have a whole shelf of blasters.
Ya know what? It's not a stryfe or alpha trooper. But it is a huge functional improvement over most entry blasters. The flip 8 would out gun any revolver, with modding. The whole flip system works allows you to have a fully loaded reserve of ammunition. So, in a sense, the flip is your primary AND secondary. You can either use the "armed" barrels and load as you shoot, or flip when empty and load the empty barrels. Idk, Coop. It's not a hi-cap semi auto but it's got some serious advantage over any mag fed gun, in that essentially it'd never go empty. But it does need a significant power boost.

3:37 I think it’s because of the trigger mechanism that it used in order to fire darts. It’s could be larger, so nerf has to put it higher in order to make more space

It’s a missed opportunity that the F8 doesn’t shoot 2 darts at once. A small, 4 shot shotgun would’ve been cool.
