Stumbled across this vid by chance - ordered the part, which arrived within a couple of days (excellent!) and just fitted it this afternoon - took less than half an hour - I didn't have to swear at anything and there was no blood. Bloody brilliant!
Thanks for tutorial, it's easy to find this detail on aliexpress, but there is no instruction for replacement. Now I know how to do it, looks pretty easy.
I have a problem with the bottom part of the lock itself. It is loose and often my trunk won't close. It only closes if I find the exact spot in which I have to leave it. Do you have. A video of its setup?
Hi would you be able to steer me to a video of how to change the top tailgate window latch as mine will not lock . Although your video is good and shows how to do that part as that will get done in due course. So thanks for that part.
Hi, would it be possible to open the lock mechanism of a closed boot on a Scenic 2 from the inside if the trim was removed? I use my Scenic as a camper and would like to open the boot at times from the comfort of being inside the car rather than getting out and going around to the back to do that. Regards, Ashton
Donald Fergusson Hi Donald, If you look through the space where the old boot button was you will see there is a small hole within, if you push a pen or a screwdriver through the hole this will release the boot, if you need any further guidance please just let us know.
@@X8RLtdUKHi, I still have the original button because the damage happened while I was opening the tailgate and it popped out with the spring, and fell to the ground. I think the rubber ring that fits into the longer piece has broken. but in the video yours seems to be made of metal, I purchased a replacement and the ring is made of rubber. Are you saying it's okay too? so at least the button is the same color as the car and not black. or could the damage be something else? now I'm keeping it in place with duct tape, otherwise the spring will push it out and sooner or later as I go, I'll lose it along the way.

Great stuff, allowed me to fix this same problem on my Renault Scenic (2001). Had to buy "set of o-rings" of different sizes for 4€

Excellent instructions. Thanks a lot. Saved me a lot of bother and money :-)
What's the loose wire about?

Take the plastic off and attach a string to the lock 'arm'. Pull down to pop the door open. Not sure it would work if the car is locked tho?
@@jamesjupp9968 thanks there's actually a latch next to the lock that opens it from inside whether locked out not
nice tutorial. thanks.
great vidio thank you you do not show how to unlock the tailgate in the first place
