Burst is pretty much always worse than just full auto. For the marksman rifles you’ve got longer time to fire and longer time between bursts. At the same time, you only needed one shot to kill and you just wasted two extra rounds from your mag. And if there are multiple people on screen or if you miss … time to fire again is really long. Spend a little more time with one of the one shot rifles with full auto. Then, try the goblin in hardcore and focus on how long it takes to get the first shot off and to get multiple targets (it’s better in hardcore than those burst marksman rifles).

Most people don't use Tacticals unless they are using Smoke + Thermals which is why cold blooded is so high up. Nades are crazy strong in HC, whip it cross map or hot spots, and you'll definitely pick up a kill. Ammo isn't an issue and if it is use Ammo box. If you have any questions I can tell away! Also for reading this far ill give you a secret meta tip, don't sleep on morphine injector, seriously give it a try.
Level 150 here. Most of the suggestions from that other comment are solid. A bit skewed in some areas for blue perks. Also, he’s sleeping on gearhead and scavenger in a big way. Flak jacket is WAY more valuable in hardcore than core, and it’s very strong in core. Ghost just isn’t terribly strong. Scout pulse is pretty rare. UAV isn’t a very big deal. No one runs the alarm. CUAV, and SAM turret handle UAV pretty well. Ninja is amazing, but map dependent just like in core. You’ll get less out of it on a map like steakout or pit. It’s still very strong. Scavenger is HUGE. It’s more effective than an assault pack WITH gearhead. You can get our 2-5 sets of lethals and tacticals per life, plus never run out of ammo. Dexterity is always trash. Hung ho is pretty much useless. It makes you sprint faster only while reloading. MOST of the time you’re behind cover when you reload. So, most of the time it does nothing. Bigger effect with longer reload weapons, and those are worse in hardcore. Shadow is HUGE. Engineer is almost as good. Assassin is big for points. Stronger in modes like kill confirmed. Combine with perk greed and three greens for magic in kill confirmed. Gearhead is a big deal. Guardian is effective if you combine with flak jacket in objective game modes. That’s about it. Not effective enough in kill order, and morphine injection is too rare. Quartermaster is always weak. Scavenger is way stronger. Even assault packs will do it better. Cold blooded works like tac mask. Situationally it’s great. But it’s rare. You see a lot of smoke? People are using thermal and being invisible is nice. You don’t run it for no reason. You have a loadout with it and switch to it if needed. Shrapnel radar is mode specific. Better in domination or hard point. Stronger if you run something like scavenger to get more usages out of it. It’s one of few that benefits your team so if you have friends you play with you can get more out of this than if you’re always solo and playing selfishly.
@@zero11010 I respect this! I didn't think of trying gearhead in that way, some sound points here. I never thought of the synergy of assault pack + gear head for extra nades per life. I always wrote it off as a win more, being so far ahead you probably have the game locked up already. I'll give it a try! Dex is pretty crappy I'll agree but those red perks really leave a lot to be desired in HC so slim pickings.
@@Steelwolf579 if you want more grenades per life run scavenger. It’s basically a field upgrade AND a perk and ALSO danger close. There’s a time limit to how frequently you can loot an assault packs. They’re good. But, people rely on them too much. One person on a team with it is good enough for everyone. Just make sure you ONLY drip the pack AFTER you throw your lethal and tactical. This makes them weak in a spawn area which is where bad players drop them. With scavenger you can get your tactical and lethal over and over and over. Much more effective than assault packs. Gearhead goes with EVERYTHING. And, if you’re not at gold mastery on all field upgrades you might as well be running it. Perk greed should be your first prestige unlock and Gearhead should be your second. 30% field upgrade cooldown reduction is awesome, especially on the longer cooldown ones. Danger close will let you store a second grenade. Assault pack still only gives you one. If you’re ALSO running a grenade launcher the assault pack will give you a launcher grenade and ALSO one to throw. Scavenger will NOT give launcher grenades, but it gives lethals VERY quickly. To get used to scavenger run it on kill confirmed for a bit. You’ll be able to throw lethals and tacticals like crazy. Try shock charge and blast trap with it.
Love the hardcore videos! I was wondering if you have heard anyone mention the blast trap lethal equipment acting strange. It seems to be survivable with flack jacket but not if you shoot it which seems strange
As a very average player, I just pretend like I'm back on Shipment 1944 by slapping an extended mag on an LMG and laying waste to entire Faceoff maps. I never have to reload! 😅
I'm a traditional HC player but I have not enjoyed HC in BO6. MW 2019 had it right with forcing a tradeoff between one shot vs fire rate. I think the scar and the AK (might have been one more) were the only ARs that were a one shot skill and both had slow fire rates. So, you had a trade off to consider. In BO6 it doesn't feel like there is much of a tradeoff to consider with so many guns being a one shot skill. Between all the guns being one shots and the brutal spawn logic HC isn't that fun. A good team can lock another team in a spawn and there is no breaking out. You are dead before the respawn animation is done. I'm playing core modes for the first time in forever as a result.
Play more of the modes and more maps. If you’re just playing nuke town … sure. If you’re on red card or whatever that isn’t going to be happening. A lot of players like to stick with one game mode or one map. Branch out more! When you queue up, how many of the options do you queue for? Can’t remember the current count … is it 12 in core and 13 in hardcore currently?
@@blackalpha007 I’m level 150. I play a TON of hardcore. The LMGs aren’t super strong in hardcore. The middle one … not looking at the game right now … XMG or whatever it is. That thing is practically a sniper rifle. It’s great and I love it! But, just like the video spoke about at length, the time to fire and aim time and slide to fire time isn’t very good with LMGs. When you have 100 health that’s not a huge issue. But, when one shot from almost ANY weapon takes you out … you really need to fire first. On some of the bigger maps you can reach out and touch people super effectively with the LMGs …. Just like you can with most of the rifles. Except the rifles get rounds on target faster. Hey, you can throw on armor piercing rounds and shoot blindly through walls and take out 22HP worth of people REALLY easily with the LMGs. There are benefits! But, some weapons/tacticals/lethals/perks are better in core and others are better in hardcore. LMG is super strong in zombies and very functional in single player, and great in core multiplayer. They’re weaker in hardcore except in pretty niche instances. You can have fun with them in hardcore! I can have fun with them in hardcore. But, they’re still usually worse for you than other items.
I see that everyone has the same bug but no one is talking about. The HUD is messed up in HC modes. There’s no +100 score when you get an elimination. You have to go into HUD settings mid match and adjust the sliders or just select a HUD preset. It disappears after using certain score streaks and then you have to go into settings again and again mid match. Awesome video with good line up. THANK YOU!!!
I love the hardcore content! I play both modes and switch back and forth depending on the camo I’m working on. The differences between the two are HUGE! Having no radar, not having basic HUD details up and being so fragile …. Weapons are different, perks are different, even the lethals, tacticals, and scorestreaks are different!
I use most of what you have suggested. Go to weapons are ARs:Krig/ GPR91 SMGs: C9/ Jackal (Don't like Tanto because of low fire rate), and Pistols : 9mmMP/ Stryder. I do use the XMG LMG as well though in Domination or Hardpoint.
Try the goblin. You’ll get the same feel as the marksman and snipers, but it’s quicker to get it up and firing. (The goblin still isn’t great … but it does shine in hardcore)
Oh boy did those LMG comments at the beginning hit hard. As a mainly HC FFA player, doing diamond LMGs was the worst. The stupid animation that plays every time you spawn in would get me killed SOO many times!
Switch game mode and even game style and map based on your needs! Play to the strengths of what you’re trying to do … don’t just blindly stay in the same mode/game/map. Knife is better in core. Bat and drill are better in hardcore. Pump shotgun is better in core. ASG and maelstrom are better in hardcore. Goblin is WAY better in hardcore. Marksman and snipers are better in core. LMGs are better in core. Pistols are WAY better in hardcore. Blast traps and molotovs are better in hardcore. Blast traps and shock charges are also better in FFA than any other game mode. Flak jacket is always good, but it’s even stronger in hardcore. Perks, too! Guardian is stronger in core but there’s not much point in using it in hardcore unless you also have flak jacket and are in a game like hard point. Level 150 here. There are a TON of adjustments you want to make as you level up and grind camo. I see a lot of people who only play core or only play hardcore. I also see a lot of people who only play one map or only play one game (like team deathmatch). Change it up. There’s a lot more fun to be had!
Nothing feels better than shooting through the curtains on Gala with an LMG and the highest extended mag attachments 😂 I have gotten multiple kill chains doing that
Ok, but where is the goblin or the DM 10. Both of those weapons have surprisingly good handling, are 1 shot at all ranges, and honestly I’d rather use either of those over the tanto 🤷🏼♂️
Goblin is better than the DM10 in hardcore. You’re still better off with any other 1 shot kill weapon and for the same reasons that the goblin is better than the marksman or sniper rifles in hardcore. How long does it take to get follow up shots? How long to engage with multiple targets? How long to get that first shot? What about if you’re sliding or sprinting? Is it easier or harder to turn a corner and take out three people from the other team with the goblin or the GPR for example? What if you just need to take out one target 50m away? What about 3 at 50m away? Goblin is WAY better in hardcore than core. It’s still not as good as most other rifles in hardcore, and I’d take almost any pistol over the goblin. Or the sirin. And I feel like the tanto and some of the other SMGs are better than the goblin in most situations.
@ I mean, now we’re just getting into subjective opinions. Having just recently completed dark matter and playing exclusively HC in every cod since MW2 (the original), I’ve used every weapon in this game quite a bit in HC. While I can agree with some of what you’re saying, I gotta say I’d take the goblin OR the DM10 over two of the four pistols, all the SMGs, and the Sirin. Grekhova is one of the worst weapons in HC and the GS45 has way too slow of a fire rate, as do the tanto and the sirin. Many of the SMGs have such short maximum damage ranges (1 shot kill ranges) that they aren’t very good outside of faceoff maps.
@@Dance_Fanatic any time you’re talking about content like this it’s generally all opinion. That’s just the nature of the topic. That grekova is still better in hardcore than core. You’re welcome to play a few games with the pistol in core and let me know what you think. Of the pistols it’s the worst in hardcore for sure. I switch back and forth between core and hardcore very often. To me, the goblin feels like torture in core. In hardcore it feels.. acceptable. I think I’d still rather almost anything else though. But, that’s me. I hate the sniper rifles (level 150 and I’ve literally never touched three of them and barely used the fourth). The marksman rifles were fine, but definitely more effective in core than hardcore. Pistols were actually enjoyable in hardcore with the same semi automatic fire style (3/4 semi auto). The majority of the game takes place in those short to medium distances though. You go to skyline or verkuda or red card … pretty much any map and the majority of the action is at close to medium range. You’ve got dark matter. So, you know that. On tiny maps 100% of the action is at close to medium range (almost all close range). On medium maps its most of the action. On large maps it’s still most of the action. Yeah? If a game has like … 300 total kills the VAST majority of that is happening at less than 50m. I don’t know if the real average is closer to 30m or 50m. But, it’s going to be in that range. And, SMGs do REALLY well at those distances. There are certainly maps where an SMG isn’t my first choice (game mode plays into that a bit).
Hey ace could u make a quick video on the bullet penetration attachment in the last slot and see how it affects both core and especially hardcore if it should be the go too attachment? Thanks
I’m here for all the players putting hardcore down, when we all know that for all of you chasing the cameos you jump on to get your headshot challenges pistols etc
ive never really disagreed with you this much before. i play hc with my friends pretty often and the fact that you put the guns that one shot infinite distance is crazy. i think you overestimate their value and the number of fights that happen beyond 40m. the gpr is the best hc gun rn with krig c and ames close behind.
I watch all your stuff and I only play hardcore and one of my favorite guns is the Goblin MK2. Try it out and let me know your thoughts. I am always using the Stryder, secondary weapon that is my primary.
I think Activision should set all of the weapons locked to semi with iron sights only in hardcore I mean it's called hard-core but there's nothing HARD about it. just grab the fastest spraying gun and pre fire the second you hear someone and boom easy kills no skill required
True. I like HC for grinding heads headshots and I really don't understand why people complain that the arbitrary, damage values set for 100 HP don't translate to a balanced game at 30/ 22 HP.
Well, I’m calling bullshit. I’m constantly getting hit markers well within the 50m range. A lot at near point blank. So sir. You’re wrong and this game is ass water.
Nowadays it's just AR or should I say Krig C galore in Hardcore and using any other guns is very much pointless (unless you want to reverse boost lol). And because of BO6's shitty servers & desyncs, this might be the Worst Hardcore I've ever played in COD.
The tanto plays awful in hardcore. That rate of fire is god awful. The handling is good sure but just pick an AR with a faster fire rate with longer one shit kill range. Unless you are playing small map mosh pit, the tanto is not the best full auto gun in the game IMO. I would pick the Krig (boring meta I know) or the Model L (not as meta)
Level 150. I don’t agree that the tanto plays badly in hardcore. The most important factor is time to fire. It’s got a faster time to fire than any of the rifles. So, it wins 1v1. It’s also got a higher run speed which is super minor, but nice. Jackal and tanto are usually what I go for in the SMGs for hardcore. The single shot kill range on the tanto is REALLY sweet though.
Don't feed the trolls. Bad enough we have full-auto shotguns in hardcore. At most it would make sense if the list was for guns that are better in hardcore but struggle in core if yoyr camo grinding. Example being the goblin mark 2 as it requires 3 bullets in core to get a headshot with the CHF barrel. All the pistols yes. Shotguns yes but only with slugs of your camo grinding as the slugs rarely get one shot headshots. Snipers Hell no, AS Val yes as it likely struggles in core for headshots because of the fast fire rate and small magazine size with its largest mag being 45 rounds. Launchers... as much as i dont want to admit it yes as the flak jacket is too overpowered if your not landing direct body shots. In core so hardcore makes it easier for camos. Baseball and drill yes because of how unforgiving it is to grind for camos.
Thanks to like 2 people complaining about not enough hardcore content in the comments. If you enjoy playing hardcore, you prolly also enjoy eating raw meat. Don’t waste ace’s time
@@n0ah7 each game mode is different. The value of perks and scorestreaks and things change from game type to other game type. Sometimes even from map to map. Just make sure you ACTUALLY play the game instead of treating every mode like team death match.
The goblin is better than pretty much any of the snipers or marksman rifles in hardcore. And, in hardcore the goblin still isn’t very good. What do you use a marksman rifle for? Highly accurate long range shots. Usually going for a one shot kill. Right? When a SMG or rifle or pistol cannot possibly do that …. Then the sniper and marksman rifle makes sense. It’s doing a different role by putting out SO much damage! To balance that they make adjustments though. Longer time to fire follow up shots. Less maneuverability. Less run speed. Smaller mags. More reload time. Yeah? In hardcore it’s very different. If you can get a one shot kill at 80m or whatever with a goblin, or Ames, or tanto, or a pistol …. What advantage is there in running the marksman rifle or sniper? You still have more of a delay to go from sprint to fire. You still have all of the other trade offs. Some weapons are better in core. Others are better in hardcore. If want the feeling of a marksman rifle in hardcore run the goblin. If you want to feel burst fire run burst on the XM4 where it’s STILL a one shot kill … but with the XM4 you have WAY faster time to fire and follow up shots. Experiment with the game more, man. This stuff will be clear.
It's just how Hardcore is. The game is balanced around Core so the arbitrary numbers for stats at 100HP don't translate when you set the health to 22HP.
Pistols are a no-brainer for hardcore ever since hardcore has been a thing. Under no circumstance would I dare to go pistol only in a modern CoD. That's just shooting yourself in the foot.
lol what a basic take. Just because HC is a different skill set from core doesn’t mean folks who play HC aren’t good. I’m not amazing or anything, but I have around a 1.6 k/d in both HC AND warzone 🤷🏼♂️ Those are literally the two ends of the ttk spectrum in this game and require overlapping but unique skill sets. HC is more about centering, snapping on target, and reaction time. Core or warzone or any higher ttk mode is more about recoil control and accuracy over multiple shots fired. Neither is better or worse, just different skill sets 🤷🏼♂️
Bro all modes are hardcore mode. I got sweaty master prestiges buttsliding with SMG dropping me in 2 shots across the map. Nades kill me thru flak jacket. @TheXclusiveAce I dunno man , if I sniper some while standing still, and it goes thru them while they stand still, and I see blood and no hit marker and no kill - and they laser me...I don't consider that legit. Especially in a match that feels smooth. The fact that activision WILL NOT address any of these rumors, tests, or claims is a partial admittance of guilt. I work at Microsoft data centers, they are a trillion dollar company. No excuses at this point. The games were never this unstable in the past, even at their worse I know you're a scientific method guy and I love your approach and skepticism, but this is the first time I believe something nefarious is happening. I NEVER had this issue in mw2 or mw3 over the last 2 years There just isn't anyway in my mind that this can be basically attributed to lag.
@savy957 "Could" is VERY different from "HAVE". If it were present, I'd be able to prove it without a shadow of doubt using proper testing methodology within an hour or two. I've spent far longer than this searching and it's not there.
SBD isn't in the game. Also, this video is performing far below my typical core videos (as expected) since the HC playerbase is much smaller and always has been.
Sbmm/eomm and skill based damage/hit reg is killing this franchise. I refuse to play without trying to manipulate the system myself. So quick breakdown, anything life regen is literally useless, you cannot gain health back unless you are using Stim Shot.
Anything with map coverage loses value quick, spam to many UAVs people are shooting them down or running Ghost to counter it.
All perks are good. Try get good
Level 150 here.
I have killed myself plenty of times by shooting them in HC. From absurd distances
Try get good
Love your videos Ace, as a HC player this video is great. Would love to see more HC content
Finally, been waiting for this
True core and get good
As a very average player, I just pretend like I'm back on Shipment 1944 by slapping an extended mag on an LMG and laying waste to entire Faceoff maps.
Because hc is never a good thing.
That that you dismissed ALL the LMGs out of hand, and even recommended the AK-74 tells me you definitely don't play Hardcore Call of Duty.
@@alexaynbinder3358 I can’t tell if you’re trolling or if you’re just REALLY new.
Goblin or dm10 for me
Finally some HC love. If im not playing nuketown 24/7, im in HC
Dragunov (SVD) as primary for longer shots.. (and to get all snipers golden) with any pistol. Pistol as main gun, occasionally switching to Dragunov.
Thank you for doing this, we appreciate what you did
Tanto + Stryder combo is a dream if you can aim.
Goblin for medium maps, DM-10 for larger maps. Glint-less optic. Maybe 2x thermal.
Gobling for the win. Willis x3 has no glint unlike with the marksman rifles.
I love pistols for hc for the sprint out time, otherwise with a mp you cant go wrong and a higher fire rate ia almost always better
Awesome thank you Ace! I only play HCTDM so this is nice to see.
I got DM by playing only hardcore but I despise hardcore and I was so happy to return to core afterwards
Thanks for this tier list
Hey ace could u make a quick video on the bullet penetration attachment in the last slot and see how it affects both core and especially hardcore if it should be the go too attachment? Thanks

I think Activision should set all of the weapons locked to semi with iron sights only in hardcore I mean it's called hard-core but there's nothing HARD about it. just grab the fastest spraying gun and pre fire the second you hear someone and boom easy kills no skill required
This is a dumb idea that no one wants 👎🏻

Whatever 10 guns you need Camos on, otherwise play a real mode.
True. I like HC for grinding heads headshots and I really don't understand why people complain that the arbitrary, damage values set for 100 HP don't translate to a balanced game at 30/ 22 HP.
Real. Playing hardcore is fore bots
Do this for core too!!
My favourite is the XM4 3 burst with flip mag. 1 shot everywhere and being a burst weapon it is very hard to miss your target.

I swear I ran into you in hc couple days ago 😅
Nowadays it's just AR or should I say Krig C galore in Hardcore and using any other guns is very much pointless (unless you want to reverse boost lol).
And because of BO6's shitty servers & desyncs, this might be the Worst Hardcore I've ever played in COD.
THANK YOU.
YESSSS LETS GOOOO
I'll still somehow find a way to get 9 hitmarkers, while my enemies can drop me in 1 shot.
Just like in Core modes 👍🏻
no LMGs on the list, meanwhile i can get dreadnought just spraying through both houses on nuketown lol
All guns can get that in hardcore, not hard
@@alexstromberg7696actually they can’t because that isn’t how bullet penetration works in this game
Snipers Hell no,
AS Val yes as it likely struggles in core for headshots because of the fast fire rate and small magazine size with its largest mag being 45 rounds.
Launchers... as much as i dont want to admit it yes as the flak jacket is too overpowered if your not landing direct body shots. In core so hardcore makes it easier for camos.
Baseball and drill yes because of how unforgiving it is to grind for camos.
I found the GPR to be terrible. So many hit markers mid torso on nuketown
Thanks to like 2 people complaining about not enough hardcore content in the comments. If you enjoy playing hardcore, you prolly also enjoy eating raw meat. Don’t waste ace’s time

And not a single Marksman rifle mentioned...
I mean, the DM10 is really the only one worth using in hard core 🤷🏼♂️
One hit pistols and tanto, is straight dumb.

I've found that most SMGs, other than the Tanto, give me way too many hit-markers, and that I'm better off running an assault rifle with rapid fire.
Yes yes yes
The pistols are so lame. Under no circumstance should the strongest gun with the best handling be a pistol.
It's just how Hardcore is. The game is balanced around Core so the arbitrary numbers for stats at 100HP don't translate when you set the health to 22HP.
@ yeah I know I hear ya. My buddy loves hardcore for his camo grind and the pistols drive me mad lol.

I’m not amazing or anything, but I have around a 1.6 k/d in both HC AND warzone 🤷🏼♂️
Those are literally the two ends of the ttk spectrum in this game and require overlapping but unique skill sets. HC is more about centering, snapping on target, and reaction time. Core or warzone or any higher ttk mode is more about recoil control and accuracy over multiple shots fired. Neither is better or worse, just different skill sets 🤷🏼♂️

Skill Based Damage doesn't exist in this game. Desync absolutely does and that is a big problem.
