Legit thought that nuketown holiday thing was done on purpose for some reason we didn’t know yet. Because it was always one person per match. And sometimes it would be me. It seemed so consistent I thought it was something secret.

In my personal opinion, the weapon visual changes are HUGE for us M&K players. Yes, it helps everyone, but it's huge for Mk players. I'm loving this change. I dropped into plunder last night and the difference of seeing more clearly the target I'm shooting at is huge.
Seriously my biggest issue losing gun fights was being able to see my tragets. The anouny of times I thought I was on target but wasnt just because i couldnt see for a split second.
Aside from the few things that are still present post patch, this update was great. The visual changes and aim idle sway changes (especially for the snipers) were very noticeable. Sucks it took them 2 months to buff headshot registration now that I’m way past that lol. If they didn’t change the HE-1 challenge last week I wouldn’t even grinding DM. Kudos to 3arch for that.

I really don’t get the AS VAL nerf and I don’t get why the saug akimbo nerf was so heavy handed, it needed a slight nerf at most but in most game modes and maps it wasn’t op.
Felt the same. It was effective at shotgun range, and at that range, you lose instantly to the shotgun. If enemies kept distance or got their gun up first you often lost. It looks like its useless now. I'm thinking maybe single SAUG with rapid fire and hipfire laser might be decent, but idk.
The SAUG nerf is baffling. The hipfire spread is much wider than akimbo guns typically are, and there's only 1 attachment option that (barely) helps with the hipfire spread. This is one of the few CoDs where you have to be decently close for akimbo guns to be viable.

Actually, I'd be completely OK with it if the steady aim laser did ANYTHING. the benefit you get from it on literally any gun is so negligible, you're literally putting yourself at a disadvantage for no benefit. Unless you're aiming constantly, but then it defeats the point of you running the steady aim laser. It should ACTUALLY help akimbo weapons when you put it on. I get akimbo pistols and smgs being too accurate can be a problem, but jesus fucking christ, i shouldn't have to magdump someone with extended mags II just to HOPE to hit them a couple times
@slayparty - Yeah, it's not terrible at all. Just underwhelming. The main con of akimbo is not being able to ADS so a tighter hipfire spread shouldn't be too troublesome to implement. The gun already gets a bunch of hitmarkers after a few meters.
These were the perfect headshot multiplier changes. It's now possible to get rewarded for hitting headshots on most guns at most distances, but without it being likely to occur on an overly consistent basis
VAL and Saug nerfs seem incredibly heavy handed, hope they dial those back. Last thing we need is more "content" that might as well not exist for how bad it is.

Why they keep nerfing the AS VAL? It's worse than any of the other ARs by a long shot - the recoil it has compared to the others vs the dmg output doesn't match at all. The SMGs are arguably better with the lower recoil and faster sprint out. It's just occupying a no mans land. For something firing a 9x39mm round, I'd at least expect it to punch hard at a close/medium range and then quickly fall off.
I think in an old video Ace did, the VAL actually had the fastest TTK of all the rifles with the AK following very closely behind. The range & recoil is what kept the VAL in check & what kept it from being the dominant rifle. But yeah, I don't think this patch did it justice. I don't think it needed its range brought down even further at all.

I'm just saying that it currently sits in a position that doesn't really serve any function. There aren't similar choices so much as just flat better ones. I think it'd be better served giving it a dmg/recoil buff, but then making the rounds substantially slower - so it actually lives in the area it's supposed to occupy, a hard hitting subsonic weapon. Then instead of FMJ, give it SP6 as an attachment that increases the range/velocity but substantially reduces RoF? Heck IDK what would be best, but where it sits currently isn't a good place - everything else seems far more viable for whatever role it tries to fill.

You're underselling how big the changes are for mouse and keyboard players. I literally could not play before unless I had an optic on, and sniping was basically a coin flip. It's almost an entirely new game now.
"Erroneous Bloodsplatter" was fixed this patch. Time to enjoy having people question anytime bad hit registration happens and claim you didnt hit anything cause theres no blood now.

You know what doesn't make sense as a mechanic at all? Idle sway while actively firing your gun. When you're shooting a gun your body naturally tenses up because there's a literal explosion going off in your hands. As you become a better shooter you know how to counteract this by just flexing and making your grip tighter but there is no "idle sway"

I hate how they are treating akimbo weapons in BO6. I was so happy to get the akimbo Saug after the massive disappointment that are the akimbo Grekhovas, and now they're just as useless.
Eh, I'm fine with them being nerfed. It was getting annoying dying akimbo weapons at range. At least now you have to be in my face for them to be effective.
One thing I’d love for them to fix is the bug on nuketown where a killcam will bug out and when you respawn, a whole bunch of objects are completely invisible, including the entire bus
@sullentamp9140 field of view is 105. i even changed my icon stat to 75. i just can't see who is shooting me or throwing grenades/launchers. I'm not an optical player i just have to learn, and I'm no slouch in cod always in the top 5
I always thought the AS Val was underrated and really good but I don’t think it deserved this nerf. It was kind of hard to use and had a high skill ceiling which is what game designers should strive for.
Very happy with patch and game overall, like most of the maps too. My only real issue is the constant packet burst I get that I think is related to their texture streaming system. I have a top end PC and gigabit internet, no problems on any other game except this. See it reported frequently. No fixes or options sets seem to fix it completely. Texture size/streaming I think helps a little, but its ridiculous given I have 128 GB of RAM, a 4090, and gigabit internet. I think something with their streaming system is borked.

@savyken2918 if you try to Quickscope they do which is how it's supposed to work. If you're playing a sniper, as youre supposed to, from range and staying ADS on a swivel you win the majority of your fights
For hardcore, as val can now 1shot to 13m, and 4 smgs got extended 1shot range - jackal got a 50% increase to 22m, c9 got 25% for 20m, pp got 12% for 18m, ksv got 18% for 13m.
The amount of cheaters this early in a COD is a bit absurd. Maybe not a good thing to let PC players crossplay with console players since 95% of cheaters are from PC

One big thing I noticed with the update (probably related to the stability improvements) is that packet burst has gone down significantly. I played over half a dozen games last night, and I didn’t notice packet burst at all, which is a huge improvement to even earlier this week. Can’t say for anyone else’s experience, but it seems to be much better (hopefully it doesn’t revert after I type this🤞)
Sad to see they haven't addressed desync issues. 90% of my matches i feel like i'm synced half a second behind the enemy with already taking damage they moment the appear on my screen or shooting first then being wiped out with a superbullet. I have FTTP and a stable 3ms ping in-game but cod just keeps getting worse and worse each year. I occasionally get connected to the US on 150-170ms ping and i top the leaderboard, it's a joke. don't know who they are trying to make the game playable for ramping up the insane lag compensation but i'm sure it's a tiny % of their playerbase. They need to make ping king so people stop using VPN's , bad wi-fi etc. it just adds to the issues. They replaced the shitty vultr/choopa servers with Amazon AWS here in Australia, not sure if they are meant to be better but these issues still persist most games. I haven't played for almost 2 weeks cause i know when i return i'll be in for the same disappointment.
Just what we did NOY need is a buff to snipers. Sniper ADS needs to be at least one second. Tired of being quicksoped by snipers faster than I can ADS with an SMG.
Snipers as a whole should be limited to non MP and big map modes/warzone. These ranges are absolutely absurd to even think they should be as viable and manueverable as they are every year. Almost every gun in the game turns into a pea shooter past 50m. All these guns should have effective ranges doubled if not tripled. It's just not how guns work. They don't drop off in terminal ballistics past the closest target you would shoot in say the army m4 qualification. We are trained to hit 300m targets with relative ease. And thats a carbine. Snipers should be used in double and triple that range. Its so dumb. They want every map to be a shoot house, but downsize effective ranges for "weapon balance", yet have guys running and gunning with bolt action snipers. Even most handguns in the hands of a skilled shooter are hitting 100m targets. I'm tired of this shit. And no I'm not looking for a milsim game. I'm already in the army. That's as milsim as possible.

And thats 92m corner to corner. Where the main door is to my main bedroom engagement distance is like 10m, but I could easily hit a human from corner to corner. 1000 regular feet in a line is 305m. Great change, idle sway and visual recoil never should have existed in the first place. It is one of those things that they put in to try to randomize engagements. Add more actual recoil and real skill gaps are back
Happy with the improvement before the holidays! The visual recoil is such a hard needed step up. They should really make notes for next years game… I sucks that so many elements are not 100% at the launch… but at least we are here now. Although I generally have good network stability, I love to see a major network / connectivity overhaul before Verdanks arrives…
They changed score limits for face off but not hardcore faceoff for some reason. Every change that comes makes me more and more sure that not a single developer actually plays this game.
Nerfing a niche playstyle is so fking stupid, I don’t even use saug dual wield, but it sounds like fun. On top of of this barely anyone ever used it in my lobbies

akimbo saugs being nerfed into the ground because of faceoff is another reason why these tiny maps are explaining perfectly what is wrong with modern cod. when your map is just a 2x4 box, of course it's going to be dominated by close range powerhouses. that's why the normal maps have a mix of long, medium and short range areas. these face off maps are a cancer, they should not ever be taken into consideration when balancing weapons because it just means you're going to fuck shit up for every other map in the game.
They messed up with the frag nerf. It's literally the only one you can pick up and throw back and you get a notification to do so. That's why it should kill you, even with flak jacket. It's a low bar to set that if you aren't aware enough to throw them back, you should be penalized.
There's a bug where the Sirin 9MM is locked. I participated in the event, but didn't get the reward. All my friends have it unlocked, but it's locked for me
Same here. It showed it unlock but I never used it. I went outa town for a week the day I unlocked it. When I got back it's showing it's locked. I'm guessing it's cause I never equipped it and used it but I'm not sure.

Saug was crazy on Medium to small maps...especially Strike maps. I was destroying folks with that. It's still good just not crazy anymore

As val needs a range buff it's supposed to be a hybrid between an AR and SMG but currently it's just a mid SMG in the AR category

I mean none of the attachments are really accurate in terms of what they do irl and what they do in game but the idea of a barrel that somehow only does more damage to the head is just so out there compared to all the other attachments.

I hate how they are treating akimbo weapons in BO6. I was so happy to get the akimbo Saug after the massive disappointment that are the akimbo Grekhovas, and now they're just as useless.
Eh, I'm fine with them being nerfed. It was getting annoying dying akimbo weapons at range. At least now you have to be in my face for them to be effective.
I dont even use the Val but the fact that its max dmg range is shorter than most SMGs is jus wild to me
Fart cloud on Nuketown was not fixed
One thing I’d love for them to fix is the bug on nuketown where a killcam will bug out and when you respawn, a whole bunch of objects are completely invisible, including the entire bus
Now, if they can make the enemies slightly bigger so you can see who and where you are being shot from.
Change your FoW, that will literally make them bigger or smaller depending
@sullentamp9140 field of view is 105. i even changed my icon stat to 75. i just can't see who is shooting me or throwing grenades/launchers. I'm not an optical player i just have to learn, and I'm no slouch in cod always in the top 5

I always thought the AS Val was underrated and really good but I don’t think it deserved this nerf. It was kind of hard to use and had a high skill ceiling which is what game designers should strive for.

Very happy with patch and game overall, like most of the maps too. My only real issue is the constant packet burst I get that I think is related to their texture streaming system. I have a top end PC and gigabit internet, no problems on any other game except this. See it reported frequently. No fixes or options sets seem to fix it completely. Texture size/streaming I think helps a little, but its ridiculous given I have 128 GB of RAM, a 4090, and gigabit internet. I think something with their streaming system is borked.

are you actually using a sniper trying to quickscope in this game? they get beat out by almost everything at majority of ranges
@savyken2918 if you try to Quickscope they do which is how it's supposed to work. If you're playing a sniper, as youre supposed to, from range and staying ADS on a swivel you win the majority of your fights

For hardcore, as val can now 1shot to 13m, and 4 smgs got extended 1shot range - jackal got a 50% increase to 22m, c9 got 25% for 20m, pp got 12% for 18m, ksv got 18% for 13m.
The amount of cheaters this early in a COD is a bit absurd. Maybe not a good thing to let PC players crossplay with console players since 95% of cheaters are from PC

@ fair, but I hated quickscopers in MW2-3 so I changed to HC 13 years ago and it changed everything for the better personally.
One big thing I noticed with the update (probably related to the stability improvements) is that packet burst has gone down significantly. I played over half a dozen games last night, and I didn’t notice packet burst at all, which is a huge improvement to even earlier this week. Can’t say for anyone else’s experience, but it seems to be much better (hopefully it doesn’t revert after I type this🤞)
The might as well move the as Val to the smg category and the goblin to the marksman rifle category
Man, I liked the flak jacket frag quirk! It gave a bigger use case for fast hands.
Sad to see they haven't addressed desync issues. 90% of my matches i feel like i'm synced half a second behind the enemy with already taking damage they moment the appear on my screen or shooting first then being wiped out with a superbullet. I have FTTP and a stable 3ms ping in-game but cod just keeps getting worse and worse each year. I occasionally get connected to the US on 150-170ms ping and i top the leaderboard, it's a joke. don't know who they are trying to make the game playable for ramping up the insane lag compensation but i'm sure it's a tiny % of their playerbase. They need to make ping king so people stop using VPN's , bad wi-fi etc. it just adds to the issues.
They replaced the shitty vultr/choopa servers with Amazon AWS here in Australia, not sure if they are meant to be better but these issues still persist most games. I haven't played for almost 2 weeks cause i know when i return i'll be in for the same disappointment.
Not just the idle sway with SVD. It feels like it's only 10-15% hitmarkers now in core. Felt good.

Just what we did NOY need is a buff to snipers. Sniper ADS needs to be at least one second. Tired of being quicksoped by snipers faster than I can ADS with an SMG.

Snipers as a whole should be limited to non MP and big map modes/warzone. These ranges are absolutely absurd to even think they should be as viable and manueverable as they are every year.
Almost every gun in the game turns into a pea shooter past 50m. All these guns should have effective ranges doubled if not tripled. It's just not how guns work. They don't drop off in terminal ballistics past the closest target you would shoot in say the army m4 qualification. We are trained to hit 300m targets with relative ease. And thats a carbine. Snipers should be used in double and triple that range. Its so dumb. They want every map to be a shoot house, but downsize effective ranges for "weapon balance", yet have guys running and gunning with bolt action snipers. Even most handguns in the hands of a skilled shooter are hitting 100m targets. I'm tired of this shit. And no I'm not looking for a milsim game. I'm already in the army. That's as milsim as possible.

Tell me have you ever fired a weapon or been to a range to see what a 50m target looks like and how close that actually is? The map scaling is horrendous in call of duty. Most of these maps should actually be at least 300m. Unless we're the size of roaches, max ranges being 50m for the size the maps are and the damage range falloff makes absolutely no sense.
My apartment is 2 bed 2 bath, 1000 square feet. That's 92m. IN MY APARTMENT. If someone broke in, and I had to shoot, I'm not even going to need my AR. My 12rd pistol is laying shit down easily. And thats 92m corner to corner. Where the main door is to my main bedroom engagement distance is like 10m, but I could easily hit a human from corner to corner. 1000 regular feet in a line is 305m. So again, are we the size of roaches in call of duty? Max effective ranges are half of my apartment? Lmfao you don't even realize how dumb you sound.

Great change, idle sway and visual recoil never should have existed in the first place. It is one of those things that they put in to try to randomize engagements. Add more actual recoil and real skill gaps are back

Happy with the improvement before the holidays! The visual recoil is such a hard needed step up. They should really make notes for next years game… I sucks that so many elements are not 100% at the launch… but at least we are here now. Although I generally have good network stability, I love to see a major network / connectivity overhaul before Verdanks arrives…

They changed score limits for face off but not hardcore faceoff for some reason. Every change that comes makes me more and more sure that not a single developer actually plays this game.

On the range charts, have you experimented with different colors to separate the range increments? I feel like black is a bit hard to see.
So RIP controller players (like me) while making things even easier for keyboard and mouse. Worst of all quick scoping got buffed. Couple that with all the AI slop and it makes me disappointed in myself for paying for this game.

akimbo saugs being nerfed into the ground because of faceoff is another reason why these tiny maps are explaining perfectly what is wrong with modern cod. when your map is just a 2x4 box, of course it's going to be dominated by close range powerhouses. that's why the normal maps have a mix of long, medium and short range areas. these face off maps are a cancer, they should not ever be taken into consideration when balancing weapons because it just means you're going to fuck shit up for every other map in the game.
It's being nerfed because it's absolute aids on any map size. I play zero face off and the dumbest thing I go against is akimbo saugs.

They didn't fix the nuketown green glowy boi
They messed up with the frag nerf. It's literally the only one you can pick up and throw back and you get a notification to do so. That's why it should kill you, even with flak jacket. It's a low bar to set that if you aren't aware enough to throw them back, you should be penalized.

The general patterns are very consistent and predictable but there’s a small amount of random variation depending on the gun.

There's a bug where the Sirin 9MM is locked. I participated in the event, but didn't get the reward. All my friends have it unlocked, but it's locked for me
Same here. It showed it unlock but I never used it. I went outa town for a week the day I unlocked it. When I got back it's showing it's locked. I'm guessing it's cause I never equipped it and used it but I'm not sure.
@budman6137 I checked on reddit, and there's a bunch of people with slightly different variations of the same problem. Hopefully they patch it soon so I can start using it

I haven't been on since that tweet so hopefully it's fixed for both of us now. That'd be cool
