That’s a super amateur way to think about it. Each minor key has a relative major key and vice versa which contains all the same notes. Eliciting emotion through composition is much more complicated and in depth than “major = happy, minor = sad” lmao. Maybe if you’re new to beats and don’t know anything about composition then it’s the most basic way to think about it. But your beats will sound very basic and amateurish like all these other bedroom producers.
@@scootboot1336 there are no rules to this that's the beauty of music. Find a scale and transpose everything ( right click in FL)
@@taylorstep8135 if there are no ‘ rules’ name a song that has gone platinum that doesn’t stick to a key, have a defined chord progression/melody, a melody that is in a different bpm to the drums, isn’t structured in some way etc etc. I’ll wait you ignoramus. You can make anything on a daw and click in random things with no ‘rules’ but will it sound good to the majority of people, have replay ability and do well commercially? No. You’ll just be listening to your incoherent unpleasant noise that sounds like it’s been made by a 5 year old. Don’t be stupid.

what was the synth lead that you used? because every synth lead that i use i cant get that gliding effect
You need to put the synth in legato and tweak the glide time in the synth you are using's parameters page...
What about inverted chords. If the third or fifth note is lower than the root note, would you use that note for the bass line or the or original root note ?
original root note will probably sound better. ear check is the way to go. aint no rules in this gameee

To me it’s the tempo first.. then scale. Yes, major is happy and minor is sad but tempo will give you a feel on how to approach the beat. Imo.
disagree when making melodies. i make melodies to be used as sample so tempo isnt big issue. going speed up or slow down . pitch
