I didn't expect you to do it so soon. THANK YOU SO MUCH for making me feel not alone. I was just as excited as you when I first found out about DPR ian... It took me all week to really get to know this genius artist from his early involvement as kpop idol C-Clowns to DPR Ian and yes shout out to CL 2ne1 who is responsible for bringing DPR Ian back on stage with the universal music of everything...
I also just got to know Ian's DPR in a unique way... I heard NTX's YunHyeok singing "No blueberries" in his Ig live recently and then I found his playlist and it's amazing I heard all 27 songs without skipping...I really like all his songs...
But in his mv it's a different story which is disturbing to watch but
DPR Ian managed to show all the delirium in the minds of people with mental disorders, especially those with Bipolar and DID...
I have MDD, Anxiety n bipolar type 2.. Honestly, I'm proud of DPR Ian because through his artwork it's a good thing that somehow many people can stop the stigma and understand what's in our mind when we're in a high mood (Mr Insanity) or a low mood (Mito)... It is not easy to reconcile two chaotic and different worlds and try to face life calmly and normally... But what choice do we have? It is not something we choose ourselves...Just like the lyrics of Skins I never Ask to be like this....
When Ian is himself, he is a person with an interesting character, approachable, beautiful soul and many of us are also like him...
Just become a monster in our own close closet...
Yea honestly I felt so much darkness in myself too while listening even thinking if I had something also. The mind is very dangerous sometimes! Really grateful toward IAN for being an inspiration and an example for those who are in pain and struggling that it's okay to fight! Thank you for being vulnerable with me :) Praying for all us !
He started as K-pop idols, which is C-Clown, but the group has already disbanded, and he's been quite struggling during that era. After that, he started his own label, before the first song he only worked behind the scene as director/editor for some of kpop mv

i checked the comments to see if anybody had mentioned this before but i like u to know that ian said so many times he can't really act so in almost most of his mvs he's just really in that state of mind he said he tries to schedule his shootings according to what they need to shoot for example all the b&w scenes from so beautiful is actuall footages of him switching to mito he revealed it recently it was the first time he let others see him switching and also for him to watch it on screen he said it was both releaving & scary at the same time he admitted he actually had a hard time editting those shots .i also remember him saying the hardest mv to shoot was scardy cat cause that time he didnt switch so he had to act anyway not to bore you with these infos but i just want ppl to know his lore is not just a concept it is literally what hes going through in real life it is very personal and real to him he just got an amazing talent to visualize such complecated feelings into a pice of art .i know he wouldn't mind if ppl dont actaully get what he is trying to show he always says at the end of the day hes just here to put on a show to make ppl FEEL alittle but i thought it would be nice to let u know abt this cause u seemed really invested & appreciative of his art

---DPR Ian is an incredibly fascinating, incredibly talented, complex and intriguing artist. I absolutely adore everything about him. I'll try really hard to summarize Ian as much as I can but I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY suggest watching his interviews with Zach Sang, JREKML (2 parts) and his incredible in depth interview with a fan called SayWhatReacts. They are definitely MUST WATCH content to truly understand Ian. But I digress...
-DPR Ian (pronounced eee-an not eye-an) aka Christian Yu
-Korean Australian former kpop artist of the group C-Clown
-cofounded DPR (Dream Prefect Regime- an independent, multi-genre music and video group) with DPR LIVE, DPR CREAM, DPR REM (REM left and now they've added DPR ARTIC). CL is a female artist that collabs with them as well.
-Ian became an mv director for artists like BIGBANG'S Taeyang, LOCO, iKON's Bobby, Winner's Mino etc. And recently directed and starred in IU's mv "Shopper"
-Ian writes, composes, produces his own music and edits his own music videos which blows my freaking mind! Yes he edited the videos you just watched, himself. It took him months to edit his mini movie "Seraph,1Shot, Mood,Ribbon". For example, he said that 43:37 on your reaction where he burst into flames during 1Shot for a split second took him 5 hrs to edit. Just the flames alone😳. He was going to do a 2nd mini movie mv for the other half of the album but it took him so long to just do this one that he just gave up on that lol. (BTW at 44:46 you said he took pills and he's "high now" but it's actually medication to stop the voices. That's why the voices were telling him not to take the meds. It wasn't drugs to get high 😉)
-Ian lives with Bipolar Disorder and Dissociative Identity Disorder (formerly known as Multiple Personality Disorder)
-Ian has shared 2 of his "alters" aka other personalities with us.
-MITO (my-toe not me-toe) is what he named his personality when he's "dipping" or in his manic low state. MITO is also considered Ian's "protector". If MITO "fronts" aka takes over Ian's body, Ian blacks out for days, weeks, even a month at the longest according to Ian. Ian remembers nothing when MITO takes over and has to be told everything he did during that time by friends/family. MITO can be seen in Ian's music videos with one white eye, in all black, or in black and white scenes. MITO is also known for his distinctive deep voice and Ian has described him as "like a fallen angel". -Mr. Insanity is what Ian named his personality when he's in his manic high state. Ian considers Mr. Insanity as the "clown god". Mr. Insanity is very colorful, vibrant, silly, and sometimes surrounded by butterflies. Mr. Insanity can be reckless at times so MITO protects Ian from him going too crazy (from my understanding). Ian has said when MITO takes over he has no memory but when Mr. Insanity takes over he can kindof coexist with him and remember things(correct me if I'm wrong fellow DREAMERS). Btw the DPR fandom name is DREAMERS 😊.
I hope I helped you understand Ian a bit. So now that you see how incredibly intricate, alluring and talented DPR Ian is, I truly hope you dive deeper into his music and definitely his interviews. He's so underrated and deserves more recognition and appreciation for his amazing music and talent.---
I recommend watching his live performances. He's absolutely incredible live! My favorite live performance is Ballroom Extravaganza 😭. Ian said whenever he sings it live the audience always cries and he doesn't know why. I cry too and I don't know why lol. That song just moves me 🥲. He's just so amazing ❤.

I love the reaction but i just cant not get super aggressively angry about the knocking sound in your videos, your audio isnt perfect so i have to have the volume all the way up (which i dont mind at all) and the knocking sound is a sensory nightmare, it sounds like youre knocking the inside of my skull and it was genuinely making me feel ill (i apologize if this was too forward, i just felt bad that i had to skip parts of the video because you put a lot of effort into the research and time spent reacting) Much love man.
Thanks for the honesty! Yeah I'm still playing around with the mic features and tech stuff! Still experimenting and I realize the sound quality sucks. I apologize for the inconvience! Planning to buy a mic and learn tutorials!

@bigbombjosh honestly going out of your way to buy a new mic is going above and beyond. Tbh after sleeping on it I Gen think it's just an issue with the audio spiking?

Damn man! Nah I just found a way to connect my airpods and then changed the setting on OBS to synch with my camera and laptop. TBH i was getting pissed off with my audio because the intro is so freaking loud and then when it goes to my reaction video, it becomes so low and static. I realized it already but there are circumstances where the audio sounds good. i guess it depends on the song especially the harder and louder type songs. Im doing this for fun, but now I realize that there are genuine people who actually care and take the time to watch my videos and subscribe. so the least i can do is make it bearable. Im going to have a whole setup soon once i start to move. For now, I'll make the best out of what I have. :) I truly appreciate your honesty! I needed that and it shows me that people care :) I'll upload another vid soon and we'll see if it better :)@@Xdqer.Yxw0
