Universal foundational Navajo law: care for family and grow something.

Are there plants, shrubs, trees or seeds to throw in marsh areas that are good for white tail for either food or cover? Love to give the deer more cover in the marsh of my property while they walk over to get water from the crick.

I have a dumb question. Is the grass/ground surrounding a creek or pond normally dry or is it always wet?

Not a dumb question! How wet the grass/ground surrounding a creek or pond will be at any given time can depend on both precipitation (rain/snow) in the area and groundwater conditions. If it's been a wet period with lots of rain or snowmelt, then these areas will be wet and may even have standing water -- especially if water levels in the creek or pond go up as a result of the precipitation. The areas near a creek or pond could also be wet or have standing water if there's groundwater coming up through springs or seeps, even if there hasn't been a recent rain or snow event in the area. As we like to say, "it's all about the water." Hope that answers your question.
