- Yes, you can finally raise pups with old or new friends online. Can you believe it? We would not have gotten here without the diligent playtesting by our private and public beta testers, so thanks to all of you!
When creating a multiplayer game in Slough Creek, you can choose Story mode (establish a territory and raise pups in multiplayer, just as in single-player) or Pack Life or Territory Quest, which are the same as in other maps. In Story mode, all gameplay is generally the same as in singleplayer, with some new multiplayer-only options:
Two decision-making options: Host Decides (when choosing den and rendezvous site, and deciding when to move to a new den or rendezvous site) and Majority Rules (all players vote on homesites and when to move).
Two time-speed options: Normal (same as single-player) and Accelerated (pups grow faster, resulting in game duration of roughly two hours, give or take).
There's a special new feature -- Pup Favorites -- just for Slough Creek Story mode. Each pup has a favorite adult wolf (initially the player who named them), whom they will socialize with more often, and follow when traveling to a new den or rendezvous site. Feed and socialize with this pup to maintain your status (but the more pups who consider you their favorite, the harder it will be to maintain that status.).
This update, v1.0.8, also features several other improvements:
Carcass Markers: Carcasses often provide more food than you can eat in one sitting. When at a carcass, howl to mark its location on the compass and World Map until it has been consumed. (In multiplayer, this will also share the carcass's location with all current members of your pack.) Also, the carcass icon (in airborne scents and on map and compass) is now an X.
Pup health and hunger: Late summer is a challenging time because prey are healthier and pups are growing faster, so pups are now a bit hungrier in May and June, and noticeably hungrier later in the summer. Pups also lose health when very hungry, raising the threat of death from malnutrition if players don't keep them well-fed -- this is also greater for the summer pups, who also have a somewhat larger appetite.
Ten new multiplayer achievements, featuring more beautiful icons by Jessie Clarey (Loach on Discord and Steam).
So rally the pack! Those pups aren't going to raise themselves!

Was playing yesterday and I already love it. The carcass marker is amazing!
Love it, had a lot of fun playing yesterday! In Amethyst, I noticed how everyone was scattered across the map and it was hard hunting on your own. However, in story when raising pups, staying close to home is best. Something about raising pups in a pack of 3-5 is just so much fun, and makes me really feel like a wolf. You guys did such a good job on this game.
Also, I was wondering why the other day when an eagle attacked, some of my pups were running around and I was telling my friend who was standing still for a few moments how they were acting like they had a lot of sugar before bed. (I was straight up screaming when chasing my pups.)

I think they're panicking. In the video he mentioned he implemented that some pups instead of listening to you during an eagle attack they go into panic mode and looking around for the eagle.

The carcass markers are really useful. Been hanging out in the beta all week and I really find the X to be a lot better as a marker for carcasses.
Before, we would leave a territory marker for other pack members in MP and it wasn't as reliable as this system is unless the pack member is coming over rather soon.
Love the new multiplayer, already tried it out a little. Can't wait for Towerfall to come out! Thanks to everyone who helped get SC multiplayer out before Christmas!!

I've been playing the beta testing portion of Slough Creek's pup raising a lot! It's very fun finally being able to raise pups together.
I really enjoy the new addition of the pup favorites part, and the new achievements! As someone who wants to get all the achievements in every game I have, and originally was at 70% completed, I'm happy that there's more content that's been added and I need to work towards all the new achievements! (I got bumped down to 50% achievements when the new ones were added). I hadn't even realized there were new achievements until I got the favorite for one of the pups in my first time playing!
Out of curiosity, will we eventually be able to keep the pups once they are raised? My friends and I were a little bummed that we couldn't, but I'm sure there's a good reason as to why.
Will the cattle ranch part of Slough Creek be readded at all? I never did it on 2.7, but I think it'd be cool if it somehow got added to AE.
I also wanted to ask if the stats of wolves will be readded? (Like how many of each animal that wolf has killed, chased off, etc). Along with the number(experience points if you will) & different names that were in 2.7 (young wolf, elder wolf, etc)? I know this is probably a little more complicated now that we have Age Perks, but I think the number for experience of game play would be nice to readd!

If you mean by keeping the multiplayer pups , will they be added to your Family Tree, then no, the Family Tree and playing as your adult pups is single player only.
We rethoughts the stats from the old game and they have been replaced by Age Perks.
We do hope to add some ranch gameplay in the future. Stay tuned!

this is so amazing! I have played 2 full games already, and it is perfect so far and everything is so interesting, i really love the favourite adult thing, its so cute. I really appreciate the effort you put into this update, i can tell you worked hard (you always do) and it turned out absolutely amazing, it feels kinda like an early Christmas present ahah, so thanks for being epic

Man this is just amazing i can NOT stress enough about this games. Realistic Abilitys says it's so real and like when I explained it to people like it's cool and stuff it it takes me like half, an hour or so to explain everything or answer any questions they have because because the game is so developed and so amazing it it just takes forever to explain everything to other. multiplayer is out it's even better I mean when I heard about the Eagle attacks getting a bit more exciting I just got little bit anxious because I was not scared of the Eagle attacks you know as they mentioned it you know you just sent them into the Den you watched out for the eagle, when it was gone you call them back out again you know it was different because you got the grizzly bear who comes up and just like *mmmm Tasty snack* and then you got the cougar who appears out of nowhere because it's been hiding and the coyotes that just pop in and out whenever they feel like it the stranger wolves that come and try and kill you your mate and your pups and then of course the eagles are just the ones that circled overhead but this it just is too hard to put everything into where is this this game is just absolutely amazing and I thank you wolf quest team for making this game and for putting so much time and effort into it I don't think anybody could stress how thankful we are for this because it's given mostly every wolf lover in the world something to do on their free time in stuff and it's giving people something to talk about and it's just it's amazing and I thank you and hope you all have a very lovely Christmas

Aw fantastic job; multiplayer is so fun! There’s something about having such a clearly defined goal (and cute pups) that seem to bring players together more. Definitely felt like a little family with the other players by the time we finished the game 😊

Hey Wolf Quest Devs, I was just wondering if I could give a suggestion on how you interact with your packmates, like you can use the mechanics you have as a mate interaction mechanic for single player, but add it to multiplayer as an option. It can be like a pop up that says 'So and So wants to Greet you Accept or Disagree?' and have like the button to press and it cancels the action. I just thought it would be a nice touch for those that play as a duo. You've done a great job so far though, loving this game! 😍

is there a way to make the hunger not go down as fast on accelerated mode when you sleep? I know its because its accelerated mode but every time I woke up, I was panicking to find food before the pups (or the players) starved
Yes, getting hungrier faster is a factor in accelerated mode. But you can send your feedback using F11 at a moment like you describe. Then we would have the info we's need to review.
I've been thinking about a feature of the old game, the limp. I would love to see that added back into the game!
But anyway, raising pups with friends seems so fun! And thank you to everyone working on Wolf Quest for creating this amazing, fun game for all of us to play!

The limp takes a lot of extra animations etc. so that is why it has not yet been added to this version of the game.

You can't play as pups, if that is what you are asking. In singleplayer, you can play as your adult pups via your Family Tree.

I've been playing the game a few times on the beta and i thought the pups running was a bug 😅how dare you, i do have one question if i may ask, will we be able to play pack life on the map when it's spring/summer cause i couldn't seem to find a way to do so in the beta.
You can play Pack Life in Slough Creek (spring/summer).

Thank you so much! I love it a lot! Had a great time playing this mode with a friend, and they didn't even play wolfquest originally back in early 2000's like I did, so nostalgia wasn't affecting their opinion like it was for me lol. The level of detail in the environment and AI is amazing and I'm absolutely psyched to keep playing this game in future updates! :D

I do wonder tho, if eventually there might be a way to change the color of pup names? i dont know if that would be worthwhile but sometimes I really REALLY have a hard time seeing them for some reason.
The variable background makes any color challenging at times, yes.
I've loved this game ever since i first learned of it, seeing how its evolved is very exciting and im happy i can share that excitement in multiplayer with my friends. i can't wait for further progress and hope to be able to continue playing for a long time :>

When I and my friend were playing Slough Creek public beta together, every time we would send the pups into the den during a predator attack, some of the pups would run out of the den a few moments later and zip around in panic mode. Is that supposed to happen or is it some sort of problem that needs to be fixed?

I was waiting for a video for the update, I already played a bunch right when it came out, was wondering when a video about it is coming, it's extremely fun, I already found 4 new friends to constantly play with ! I absolutely love this, Amazing update and amazing work by the team
I love the idea of accelerated time to get through the game faster. Is there any way we could get that as a single player option too? The several hours it takes to get through a game cycle is kind of tedious and puts me off playing when I only want to hop in for a little bit and feel like I barely make progress.
That said, I'm very excited to play multiplayer with my friend! We had a blast before and are sure to have even more fun now with pups!
Gosh, I remember when you still were working on Amythest Mountain! This Game has gotten over the hill and into one of the best top games there is!
