      I've have subscribed as of yesterday when I was searching the internet for life hacks and one of your videos was recommend. This is far beyond all the PowerPoint abilities I have been taught and I have been doing PowerPoints since the 3rd grade. I did not even know that PowerPoint could minus the background to pictures till I watched your video on how to make 3-D Pop-outs. This is Amazing! I did notice that on complex photos that PowerPoint has trouble determining what is in the front or back in an image like if it is hair or a ship and there are shadows that match the background. Also the mask of an image can be very #pixelated in PowerPoint vs. if I made a png image through Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop.

    • @powerpointspice
      @powerpointspice  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much for subscribing, and great points! Yes, if you're really good with Photoshop or AI already, then definitely no need to "force" these effects in PPT. My goal is to just make them "accessible" to others who may not have those programs (given PPT is much more common). Some effects can be nearly the same in PPT, but with others, you do sacrifice a bit of quality / flexibility sometimes.

      @powerpointspice  11 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Russcob - thanks for the comment! No, I haven't given up yet :). It takes me a really long time to make these tutorials, and my intense job often takes up most of my video-making time, so it can indeed be a while between videos. Appreciate your patience, though! (I am currently working on another one that is pretty elaborate so it's taking even longer, but it'll hopefully be worth it.)

      PowerPoint Spice Thanks for the great tutorial! But I was wondering on this video if the 0:19 - 0:27 secs. (fireworks with Eiffel tower =P ) of this tutorial were also made in powerpoint? Or is it a video?

    • @JamesAllenFord
      @JamesAllenFord 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Derrick Ramos Yeah that's what I thought she was going to make too. The ones that look real are clearly video.

    • @powerpointspice
      @powerpointspice  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Derrick Ramos That part is video with the Eiffel tower vector image overlaid on top of it. Although that's not the main effect I'm showing in the video, I wanted to show how you can spice up a fireworks video as well. Thanks for watching and commenting, Derrick!

    • @powerpointspice
      @powerpointspice  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      James-Allen Ford Hi James - yes, that part is video but the Eiffel tower is a vector image put on top of the video to make a cool silhouette effect.

    I tried this and came close, but maybe because I'm in MS 365 and it's 2023, the stars and circle stacked on top of each other look like the stars, not the flare you get. Not sure what I'm doing wrong! Also, does the slide play automatically? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    • @powerpointspice
      @powerpointspice  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, Christine! You just have to set the start times of the fireworks to all be 'start with previous" and then make sure taht the tails go up and it explodes at the same time - so just play around with the delays to sync it up - rather than using "start after previous" - hope that's helpful!

    Grow/Shrink animation is not acting like in the video on PowerPoint 2010. Instead of starting from 0 size it starts from current size !

    • @powerpointspice
      @powerpointspice  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Yuri6037 It should work! Can you tell me more about the issue? Usually grow/shrink starts from the current size of the object and then increases/decreases in size based on what you specify in the effect options.

    What burns me to no end is working on something on my laptop, then getting mobile and my app doesn't want support my graphics or videos. it seems to be selective in that manner. It is really frustrating. Maybe I'm not formatting them correctly, but I doubt it because the app has very limited features.

    • @powerpointspice
      @powerpointspice  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it definitely sucks when things don't work right across platforms. Exporting to video to preserve your effects definitely locks them in better than using PPT itself, but sometimes things still get glitchy. The good thing is that MS is working hard to make its stuff work across platforms now.

      Thanks for the comment, Poonam! Glad you've enjoyed my tutorials. To loop, the best way is honestly to export as a video and then import it back into PPT and set on a loop OR make a GIF out of it with something like giphy.com (free online gif maker) and then reimport it into PPT.

      +Aka1K3ProDiamonds78 The Lead You can try to add that in too! I guess you could add those with a quick appear / disappear animation. I didn't get quite as detailed - but good idea!

    Love your videos. I've been waiting around for the latest one so I can complete some projects and add something interesting. I use your techniques to help me with online courses and commercials. I hope you produce some more videos, maybe something for Lynda.com?

    • @powerpointspice
      @powerpointspice  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Brigitte - thanks so much for the note! I actually just released a new one a couple of days ago so check out my channel for that -- lots of ideas for how to combine video and animations. Funny that you say I should teach for Lynda - I actually applied to teach there a while back and I think I got rejected (they never got back to me) -- they probably want much more prominent people. I may start teaching on Udemy this year, as anyone (even I) am allowed :).

      Well, it's their loss. I am doing online courses on Udemy. Recently, I did one about business blogging. You will definitely do well there since you have a very strong following and since video presentations are increasing in popularity. Good luck.

    Great tutorial!!! I was just working on a slide where I needed firework animations and was too tired to sit down and come up with something so I went in a different direction. :(
    Within the same project I am working on (Self project for my own personal portfolio) I am having difficulty with 2 animation ideas and would love to run them pass you if you have the time. In fact I would love to show you my project and hear any feedback you may have.
    Keep up the good work keep inspiring!!!
