Really interesting video. I enjoy you featuring non-budget bikes sometimes because it's a good way to contrast build quality, components, etc. and it's educational for newbies who watch your channel more for the big-box options. As a guy who still owns his first Trek 1220 road bike from 1996, I'm not a hater, but good lord this video is not a good look for Trek. 4 frames? There's just no excuse for that horrendous quality control. The Slash line starts over $4000 and goes up to $11,000+! At those prices the bike should be perfectly engineered and bullet-proof. I'd be livid if I paid that much and had 3 frames break.
Curious to know if by chance you come across a Wallmart Mongoose XR Pro and ride it on your Trail and your thoughts against the XR Pro Vs the Trek Slash.
there are 25 year old titanium bikes for sale. single owner, they never sat on a carbon. Selling $25 less than what they paid, so their bike hobby costed them $1 per year. ( plus tires)
So what? You are more patient than I. They should've given you a fist full of cash to go alloy. I have a Rocky Mountain Instinct carbon and it is dead quiet and has been flawless in hard riding for 7 months now. Trek has had so many issues. Their QC sucks. I would be very disappointed and not even want to ride that model anymore. That's the price you pay for going w a big box bike company.
@KevCentral I just like to complain about the crazy high prices of MTN bikes 😂 😂 But people also buy $500,000 Lamborghinis that need a new clutch every 15,000 miles..Soooo. I actually like what you do, converting dept. store bikes into better upgraded budget builds. 👍 👍 I've been riding my 40mph Mongoose Exhibit 2 stroke build since Jan 2021 with no parts breaking from stress or accidents. The bike made a really good donor bike for the build at $100 on sale. Due to the beefy heavy aluminum frame. The rear dropouts were pretty thick & solid. The thick axles, steel hubs, 48 spoke wheels....The super cheap steel front forks rusted shut & no longer have any suspension 😂 but since they're all steel. No issues breaking. I'm slowly working towards building a safe 55mph 125cc full suspension motorized bicycle..... Basically like a 55mph high power ebike but uses a 125cc semi automatic 3 speed pit bike engine. Instead of more expensive electric motor & big battery 🔋 setup.

Wow at least they honor their warranty even though the faulty frame 😉

I have a series of videos on the XR Pro
How do you crack an aluminum frame? I thought it would just bend. Or did it snap at a weld? When you wreck the frame, how bad do you wreck yourself?
Other than the carbon frame I don’t think any of the cracks were from crashes
Seatstays would crack often on old Spesh alloy Enduros and Stumpys. They fatigue at the welds.

I'll never buy a Carbon Trek after seeing one snap at the BB out on a trail once...!!
WoW 😳
Time to sell a kidney to pay for it.
rockrider offer life time guarantee on their bikes when it comes to frame. why is he cracking the frame so easy ?
This guy is doing something seriously wrong, ive sold treks since 2013 and ive never dealt with frame snaps that weren't due to rider crashes
Agree. Just buy an aluminum already.

I've got a treck iguana 9 speed aluminum frame I don't even have 2x what he has in his pedals
Lol
Sounds like that guy needs to go to a riding coach.
Ride hard. Things break
Trek = overpriced bikes 😂
Ive noticed a lot of Trek pushback online recently. I guess being one of the most known brands brings good and bad attention
