The early 6r’s are prone to timing chain failure
The chains always fail but overall a good solid reliable little car

Mine don't have a chain it have a rubber timing belt(I've changed at 90000km). I will tell you a short story :))) I had a polo 6r the car from this video. I've used a 30000 km oil when I've made the service. After I drove 30000 the service light came in the dash saying that I need to change my oil. I didn't like to have the light in the dashboard and I've resented the service by pushing some buttons saying that in the next days I will go to make the service. The thing is that I forgot and I've drove another 20000 km after the a signal light came on saying that the oil level is to low. :))))))
I've driven the car 50000km with an oil change. The car have now 190000 km and run perfectly.
