I am deeply impressed. As a young'un I could ride massive distances, 20hrs or more between naps, usually in the hope of shenanigans and ladies favours at the end. The journey became the high point rather than the destination. Seeing you ride so far as the world rotates underneath you brings back my memories of the bikes rhythm, the change of landscape and light, the rotation of my ass on the seat and the uninterrupted thoughts and mental meanderings that living at 4500rpm brings. Thank you.
My 2023 Tenere 700 is sitting in my garage begging to be ridden. My first long ride Im heading to fort benning, ga for my son’s graduation from boot camp. Mt home idaho to fort benning and back. Should be a good first adventure ride eh! Love the video man!
My dealer told me about this bike a couple years ago. I didn’t want to wait for its supposed arrival, instead bought a used ‘15 Super T, and still enjoy it. This video came out and boy did I get cranked up. My dealer located a pre-order that came available in NH and I drove the distance. I ride it on and off-road. Man do I LOVE this bike. My Super T is so neglected now. Thanks for the great review and sharing your passion for the bike Paul.
Creig Mac great touring machine. I took my last ride on it delivering it to its new owner last week. Still pumped out a 900 mile day in Texas heat like butter!
I remember seeing you in Dallas at the bike show, I had come to see the T7. You put on a great presentation. I just picked up my T7 today. Safe travels my friend!
Hats off to you Paul. 1200 mile day on the first day of a new bike, wow! I've got two SS1000 under my belt and wouldn't dream of that kind of a ride on day one; great job and glad the bike was comfortable.
I know the bigger machines have been around for many years now and it'll always be a personal choice but I do believe the middleweights are not given their due credit with regard to their huge touring ability. The "lure of the cubes" is indeed appetising but there really is no doubt that in terms of practicality, virtually nothing is lost in using a middleweight for cross continental work and it always makes off-road adventuring (surely the whole point of exciting long distance/international touring) much more realistic and achievable especially solo.
Greetings from Jacksonville FL. Just found your channel. Bless you for what you're doing. My best friend in all this world was diagnosed with MS a few months back.
After much research and already knowing about this bike, I am convinced this is the best balanced bike between road and dirt, power and weight and overall capability under any common circumstance you will ride on. Anyone who speaks about it can't do is simply wasting space. I am buying one this week.
I have 1600 miles on my 2019 DR650 . Can't believe you rode 1200 miles in one day , that unheard of . That very reassuring since my preordered Tenere 700 hopefully will be here in August .
Okay these tenere 700 videos and reviews have just got to stop! I've had a tenere 1200 for 5 years and thought nothing could pry it away from me at least in the next few years... But all these videos are making me want one pretty bad! We have long haul Paul and Ryan F9 giving shining endorsements for this bike what more could one want? I wasn't really wanting to downsize per se as far as displacement goes on long trips but this bike looks like it handles it no problem. I wouldn't mind a lighter bike just for flick ability and I'm not that young anymore... I give it a couple more years I think and I'll probably be doing it!
I've got a dr650 with less HP and torque than the ten..I can do 130kmh(85mph) on the highway no sweat fully loaded with camping gear(legends say I hit 160 at one point on the same trip, can't confirm or deny that). I imagine the ten handles the highway pretty good.
Nice work Paul. I have an S10 and my wife and I have an OT practice in Sydney Australia working with people with neurological conditions. Love the T7 and will definately get one when COVID finishes and economy picks up. Cheers mate
I have one in France. I ride all over Europe on it. It’s perfect for Europe. In the USA I gave a GS Adv. it’s perfect for America. One of the wonderful things about the Tenerife is that it has torque everywhere. You cannot stall it. the BMW on the other hand is easy to stall. It has very little torque at the bottom end. But it is a very cushy ride.
Well done Sir. I sulute you. In 1979, I rode 769 miles from San Francisco to Lakewood, Washington in one day. Once I got off my 1978 Suzuki GS 1000, I felt like I had been on a horse even though I had never ridden a horse. I was much younger then. I don't think my rear end would hold up to that many miles in one day now. Lol.
Well done and thanks for a great upload! One of these is in contention for my next bike as I have found adventure bikes much more comfortable for my aging, arthtitic body. One of my concerns was long distance days on UK motorways to get to the good roads but you have answered that one! Next thing is a demo ride 👍
No new videos for 3 months. Where did you go mister. I like your videos. I don’t know how you went from the Venture to a tennere. Your videos in the venture had pretty much sold me and the Venture will be my next bike.
I m guessing there is no way it is more comfortable on road than the S10. This still give the T7 a lot of credit to be more true to dual sporting with better trail capabilities but still be quite good on the super slab. Impressive. This has now sold me on the S7. It will be the next moto to park in my garage. I need to part with my KLR first tho,
I first saw this three years ago when I got my T7. After a couple trips out west (CA NV & ID BDR) I did the NEBDR last summer. 15+ strait ours in the saddle coming home (IL). As to saddles; I’m still on stock saddle and you’re right, it works pretty good for me too. I did however see a newer post by you with a upgrade saddle. Finally my question; what, why, and how do you like it. I value your opinion on whether my saddle should be replaced. Thanks in advance. 😢
Wow, Paul, that really says something about the bike. Here's what I'm curious about for a future vid (maybe? please?): compared to the Super T, how does the T7 feel getting used to no traction control, dynamic breaking, non-ABS, & other computerized functionality that so many of us have gotten accustomed to? I love the thinner profile, small engine, (slightly) less weight; but what am I giving up or having to get used to (again)? Hope you can share some very well-informed perspective.
Paul, someday it would be great to get a bid from you in how to stay safe and alive on the roads. No one I know does more miles than you, and I am sure you have some sound advice. Appreciate everything you are doing regardless!
ExpeditionaryRanger like everything in life, I think the more you get out there and ride, the safer you become and more skills you gain because of the added experience only time offers. In comparison, I consider myself to be a terrible automobile driver and getting worse every year. Last year I only logged 1200 miles in a car! If I only drive 10 miles to the gym once a week, I'm not getting any experience and the skills I once had are duller than the spatula that comes with an Easy-Bake oven. Miles and hours on the bike and riding every day makes riding much safer which in turns increases the fun and enjoyment.

thats a trip even if you rest . new moto to breck it in new oil . yeah that moto can do it . i got a kawasaki vulcan s 650 new oil on it . problably can do it to . but the saddle sore . o boy . i also have a suzuki burgman 400 scooter that one may be also can do this trip . ride safe .
Yamaha is the best, I have a S10 and love it, my personal opinion is on the road fully loaded and 2 up the S10 should be better than the T 700 but off-road the T 700 will be a lot easier to ride, but well done Sir 1920 km awesome
Brilliant....that was some ride!. It really is a terrific bike, it was such a good move to use the MT07 engine . What's even better is that the do it all , go anywhere T7 has real character!, I was worried it would be a bit bland but it's a joy to own...Cheers, Steve
I live in Thornton, I bet your not far away from there? Im very intrigued by the T7. Long time dirt biker and road rider looking for the “one bike”. Safe travels in your journey!

1,200 miles, wow! That is mind bending to me. I have a 2021 T7 that I got brand new in June of 2021. This is February 2022 and I still can’t get used to the seat. An hour an a half on the bike and I have to stop because my butt needs a break. It’s so bad for me that I am seriously considering coughing up the 600+ dollars to buy the Corbin seat. Which is the only seat that looks comfortable to me. Another discomfort I have experienced on the bike is that after a long ride my right wrist can bother me a little bit. Nothing too bad but I haven’t rides longer than about 3.5 hours. I have heard a couple of T7 owners complain about the wrist. With EFI there really is no reason why Yamaha could not use a throttle by wire set up. Other than that I am happy with Rosie (that’s my T-7’s name. Yeah I name things. I am weird like that. 🤪
Great video. Can you tell us how is the windshield protection? it looks very small form the video, also did you have any controls for CRUISING (cruise control, throttle lock)? How about final CONFORTABLE SPEED and overtake power? I Ask because I am in the market for a Yamaha SUPER TENERE 1200, but I am considering the 700 as power factor is not really a big deal as I do LOTS of LONG DISTANCE. THANKS A LOT
Hello. I now have 22,000 miles on the bike. Almost exclusively long distance with 10 plus days of over 1000 miles. I have added a custom seat, taller windscreen and a aux fuel tank to make those 16 hour days a little better. I use a $25 Vistacruise throttle lock. The T7 is faster and smoother than the 1200. The 1200 is better suited for two up travel with more room for a passenger for extended hours.
1200 miles in one day...respect Sir, respect!!!
Concur, well done. Most i've ever managed was about 650-750 miles in a day and that was ENOUGH!
Subscribed.
Lol, when you get a new bike you love you put the miles on..I put 15k kms on a Himalayan in 3 months.
I can't even sit long enough to watch the entire video...
Iron butt challenge
The longest i have ride is 700, thats in Kilometres..1200 miles woww
I am deeply impressed. As a young'un I could ride massive distances, 20hrs or more between naps, usually in the hope of shenanigans and ladies favours at the end. Well done Paul "again" and a big thanks to Yamaha for their support for a great cause.

A moment of silence for the wonderful Venture.

You’ve only confirmed my commitment to getting this as my next bike. Thank you for sharing your experience.
I remember seeing you in Dallas at the bike show, I had come to see the T7. You put on a great presentation. I just picked up my T7 today. Safe travels my friend!
That laugh 4:47 lol. Happy to hear it's this good for handling highways with ease when needed.
Props to the filming and editing crew that helped you put this video together. Love your thoughts on the bike, I'm definitely sold on it.
Hats off to you Paul. 1200 mile day on the first day of a new bike, wow! I've got two SS1000 under my belt and wouldn't dream of that kind of a ride on day one; great job and glad the bike was comfortable.
That must have been like a kid in a candy store at Yamaha! Very cool. Looks like a fun bike
I am also from New Hampshire. Keep up the good work my friend
Wow. You are the machine, not the bike! I've ridden a Goldwing and 2 Electra Glides and the most i ever put on was 631 miles. Boy was my butt sore!
just bought my 2024 Tenere 700. so excited

Getting mine in a few weeks, the rally edition. Can't wait!! I've been riding an FJR 1300 for 7 years and now its time for a change :)
Mine is in the garage... even though it took me a week to cover a thousand miles, including a trip to NH... loving it... so far my best ride ever...
Greetings from Jacksonville FL. Just found your channel. Bless you for what you're doing. My best friend in all this world was diagnosed with MS a few months back.
Can't ask for more than a best friend in that situation! Having you will be vital to adapting to the change.
Mine has shipped! Now just waiting for it to work across the USA
Jon Erik Greene yeah!
After much research and already knowing about this bike, I am convinced this is the best balanced bike between road and dirt, power and weight and overall capability under any common circumstance you will ride on. Woo hoo a new bike! Your opinion on the T7 matches many other reviewers - they love it. Looking forward to following your new trips on your T7.

Wow!! impressive!! Only have 500Km on mine...I love this bike!!
1,200 miles in one go... wow! Long-haul indeed. Great vid, I might get my hands on a T7 this year. Coming from an old XT660.
I also have one in my US garage. I am in love. Amazing bike. The wait was killer, but that is over.
1,000+ miles in one day? You are a stud my friend💪🏾
Nnanna Okoroji well, I just needed to get home.......

Awesome Paul!
Waiting on mine. Should arrive in Dallas next week after a two month wait. I put almost 100k on my big GS so looking forward to comparing the two.
Brilliant! You are a legend.
No new videos for 3 months. Where did you go mister. I like your videos. I don’t know how you went from the Venture to a tennere. Your videos in the venture had pretty much sold me and the Venture will be my next bike.
Congratulations Paul!
Wow! Congratulaions, what a ride!!
I’m going to buy one this spring from a guy I know who’s selling his , excited.
I think that for the price and for the adventure, nothing is quite as good as the T700... Street or dirt, it's the unicorn so many have wanted.
Can’t ride 1200 without that throttle lock! Hopefully things work out for me and I’ll be able to pick one of these beautiful machines up for my self.
Wow, I'm so happy that this video, your video is a final argument, that factory seat is not bad :D
Loved this video....looking forward to more content...👍
Check out Tech spec for side grip panels! Another piece of the puzzle I’m waiting for
I m guessing there is no way it is more comfortable on road than the S10. I bought one o' these in February 2022. I'll be keeping it a long time. Sometimes, less is most definitely more! Superb machines!
Paul, someday it would be great to get a bid from you in how to stay safe and alive on the roads. No one I know does more miles than you, and I am sure you have some sound advice. Appreciate everything you are doing regardless!

This bike looks like the perfect modern option for the KLR guys
The seat is so uncomfortable for me. However, I love the bike. I bought a Seat Comfort, didn't help. I bought a Corbin, somewhat more comfortable.
1200 miles a day. 1900+ Kms a day. That's impressive. Wow.
NICE VIDEO THANKS FOR ALL YOUR INSITES, Hope your still rolling around the NE some place... I'm down here in the Boston area thinking about a new T7 in 2023 .. Even on a comfortable Motorcycle I would not do 1,200 miles in one day! Very cool bike! Great Video And Thanks For Sharing My Friend!
Wow, you have me beat. Most I have ridden in one day is 682 Miles.
Jims Trike Adventures when you have to be somewhere and hotels are expensive you learn to iron Butt it!
@@longhaulpaul They are. I did a short trip 5-6to Colorado last year by myself. Spent far too much on Hotel rooms
Nice review!! Thoughts comparing it to the S10 after a few more long hauls?
I have a S10 16model and wonder the same thing.
Im so fired up for a T7 But Im afraid to loose to much comfort.
Ok, i need to travel lighter but thats ok.
Soft bags instead of hard cases and i save some weight.
So longhaulpaul, How about an answer to the gentlemens question up above?
Best regards/ Sweden
I can’t see it anywhere near the s10 for long rides etc with cruise…
No matter what people try to promote. Plus the tank size ain’t quite the same Is it.
Good luck Paul, stay safe. This bike is on my list, just can't part ex the 690 just yet, i need a couple more months with it.
I’m torn. Want a T7 but LOVE the Desert Sled. It’s the look. Just the look. T7 wins all contests but the Sled is dead sexy
Mine is still in the crate at dealership! Excited! Told service guys to hold off putting together , I’m waiting for a bunch of mods I purchased on line😀
Did I mention I hate Mosko and cycle gear? (They keep taking my money 😛)
Outstanding!
thats a trip even if you rest . new moto to breck it in new oil . yeah that moto can do it . i got a kawasaki vulcan s 650 new oil on it . problably can do it to . but the saddle sore . o boy . i also have a suzuki burgman 400 scooter that one may be also can do this trip . ride safe .
Love what you do...I'm trying the same. I just bought one too.
March 5 2021; where are your videos?
Wow 1200 miles that's insane, old buns of steel there
In my country we call them the 'Iron Butts'. There aren't many tho. Salute!
I have that exact Aerostich suit. Mine was made in 1991! lol
Yamaha is the best, I have a S10 and love it, my personal opinion is on the road fully loaded and 2 up the S10 should be better than the T 700 but off-road the T 700 will be a lot easier to ride, but well done Sir 1920 km awesome

Impressive!
You sound like super dave. Nice video
Wow, chapeau!!! RESPECT
Curious what seat you will slap on, that seat on your super ten looked mighty comfortable vs the 700's seat

thats a lot miles in a day well done paul.
What about the lights while riding in the dark. Are they enough or event better or really good?

Comfort is adjustable on just about any bike. Have had many BMWs, also with custom seats and windshields. This bike is inexpensive, easy to add accessories and dependable like a hammer.
Take a look at a Moto Briiz chain oiler. I like mine.
Are you planning to put a bigger front sprocket on it to bring sown rpms at highway speed?
I'm not. It's at 6k at 80 mph, and still manages 50mpg. No buzzing at all. Redline is 10k, so 60% ay 80 is not really working hard. It's so good at a crawl in the tricky terrain, I wouldn't want to mess that up.

Go Paul!
Impressive, very !👍🏻👍🏻
