I have this keyboard with the purple switches and I have zero complaints using it in real situations. With my headset on playing Fortnite or MW, it’s nearly a perfect keyboard. To each their own!
Same, I have a te with red linear switches and a huntsman with purple, and tbh I can finally type at speed again! And soo much more. I was finna return mine in Amazon and get the linear, but now I won’t
I had yellow Switches for over a year, previously I had blue Cherry mx a long time ago and now I have the Purple Switches and I love them! Is really personal if u like a switch or not. Purple for me is good, cause isnt hard to press but is clicky
The typing test 3:49 , the shake/rattle test 3:29 , the test after the foam install 5:03 , and the close-up reverb sound test 6:00 (that I didn't even know was a thing) were more helpful than any other video on YT. It's true there aren't many clicky version video reviews and the ones that were there, I didn't like the sound for some reason, but this video made it more clear as to why than those. Kudos and respect! I waited for and got the more expensive Red Switches version because Chroma and i like the idea of a silent mechanical. It's unbelievably silent. A serious improvement over their previous Red and their Yellow linear switches. To the point that keycap dampeners don't make much of a difference. Anyways, great video! Keep up the good work!
My red linear TKL is perfect. The keys are super fast but they actually make me type with more accuracy now. The instant response while gaming is very noticible also.
Bought linear. Bought my brother in law linear as well. His is white. Looks really good, feels great, and noticeably the quickest responding keyboard I have.

Realy mate, return it and order GK61, its cheaper (around 50-60$), have biggest amount of switches to choose (there is mechanical and optical version but all of them are hotswap), and you can modify it without fear of messing with laser.
I returned my Purple Huntsman V2. The pinging apparently comes from the stabiliser I was told. It's not even a consistent sound, it happens likes every 4th stroke depending on force and angle, and this wasn't something I was willing to tolerate on a $150 keyboard. It's also really loud I couldn't hear people through headphones.
Well it's late 2021, and I just got this for a really cheap price and it's still pretty new It's pretty good, besides the clicky purple switches that I need to get used to for a bit. It's such a detailed review though, so much respect and love to your effort and quality making it :D
I've got the tournament version with the red switches and I am still not fully accommodated with it. Linear with little feedback and a really high actuation is something that will take anyone a lot of time to get used to. It is not as bad as it was in the beginning, but still, I kinda wish I took the purple. I thought it was not as loud, but if you press the key fast and all the way, the key will hit the board making lots of noise.
@@MSN539 I have it for a couple of years now and I stopped double typing. I still enjoy it and had no trouble with it so far other than the sound which is not silent. The keys are silent, but having no feedback, I find myself pushing it all the way just to "be sure" when typing or gaming which makes the plastic on aluminium plate kind of noise which is as loud as it did when I first got it.

But I do really like the optical clicky switches. I believe it's the only clicky switch with click and actuation perfectly aligned (other than buckling springs).
Just a heads up, what you pointed to wasn't "a very large LED". That's actually just a diffuser thing for the tiny SMD LEDs that are mounted on the PCB itself. The switches on the huntsman mini aren't electrically connected to anything (because optical switches are just a means of breaking the infrared beam that's projected across the gaps in the board where the switches go. Also, to lube the switches, simply push them out from the back of the board, press hold the switch down, and spray some aerosol dry lube into where the springs are (randomfrankp has a good video on this) Because of the nature of the switches, you'd be hard pressed to actually fuck them up with dry lube, but you do run the risk of breaking the little clips that hold the switches onto the board. This happened with one of my switches, but because I have the big brains, I just moved that switch over to one of the stabilized keys so it has extra points of contact holding the switch straight.
It's not bad, Its pretty good because it has rgb and stuff, if you dont like the clicky switchs, try the linear version. I use the clicky version it from using it its pretty good in my opinion, i like the clicky switches but if you hate them, use the linear version.
I ordered a Huntsman Mini from Target and they accidentally gave me the purple switches one. And the thing that I hated was the pinging. Definitely returning it for the linear red switches

I don't shake it either. The fact that the can move laterally means they move when typed on, creating a bit of noise, otherwise known as stab rattle. Not everyone hears it, but for those who do, it can be a bit dissatisfying.
Literally bought this yesterday. 100% am going to exchange it out for the linear switches. The pinging from the clicky switches made me hate this thing in less than an hour.
I took apart my razor huntsman elite keyboard. I put 3mm foam (they had a 10mm foam but that was to thick.) But once i put the 3mm foam, and used the GPL 205G0 lube for the purple switches. Yes i had to pop out all the switches but it was worth it.
Sold my Huntsman Mini and bought a RK61 hot swappable version and modded it with different keycaps and Akko Lavender switches, and it totals for basically the price of the Huntsman mini with the mods. Best decision i’ve ever made with keyboarding.
good review but the reason people buy clicky's isn't because of the sound, it's because of the feedback and the amount of pressure that you have to apply. I'm used to razer greens because i've been using them for 5 years and one time i tried to play with a corsair with cherry red's and I couldn't help myself pressing buttons accidentally

Target accidentally gave me the purple Huntsman mini and I know what you mean. I absolutely loved the green switches on the Blackwidow 2013 Ultimate. I actually wish I could use those same switches again due to how nice they sound
I like your style. Way to go mate!
6:08 because I like the feeling of clicky switches but its personal preference.
Bro why are not getting more subs you funny as hell😂
Not a clue, might be cuz I'm not lookin at enough mainstream stuff
just bought one worth every penny
Its preference
the intro is the best one i have seen
This is very true ... This keyboard feels cheap, and with the way the switches sound, makes it feel cheaper! The spacebar , is just ... hard stop sounds terrible.
I’ve found using 2 o rings on every key caps works pretty well to dampen the sound... After doing that the metal ting is virtually gone for me
2 o rings?
@@nolzftw yup
What size
I got a relatively new razer huntsman mini after my old hyperx alloy origins cracked (rip). I typing with it now, and I can say that I think RAZER does listen to customer feedback. There is almost no pinginess and the keys sound much better.
Yeah, I heard the more recently produced ones are lightly modded after feedback from reviewers like me
This guy is the Walmart/ Great value version of Excessorize me channel😭
I have this keyboard and love feeling like Travis Barker while I play doom.
Good memey review, subbed
i love this keyboard! and i recomend so much!
this review makes me feel like i was learning how to wear my buckle seat belt in some airplane
cool and funny review tho
I mean... the springs wouldn't make that sound if you didn't click it that hard
lmao frr
I love the Razer huntsman mini purple clicky
i have the huntsman elite and i hate the purple switches
Just wanted to buy but this sound. You save my money.
I just found your channel and I love the content so I will definitely sub and like and turn on notifications
I just bought the linear optical version... hopefully I wont regret it...
did you regret it?
Every gamer the louder the keybord the more intimidating for creative fill
I really like the stock sound haha I dont know why everybody hates on it.....
3 years later, this keyboard ended up on my desk after being sick to death of designer linear swtiches over the past few years. is it pingy? It ABSOLUTELY is. Have I gone the Squashy boy route? Not yeeeettttt..... 🤭
1:58 Does the Viper Ultimate count as a "today" mouse? because it's usb port (which isn't even needed) is a bit recessed, but 90+% of my cables work with it
Also, I changed the keycaps and the rattle is almost completely gone? Idk if coincidence, or stock caps were meh the whole time.
Great review. You need more subs
This keyboard is pure hell
i bought this keyboard without knowing anything about keyboards kinda regret it ngl
No reverb at all with my setup which has a gaming mat, and I see you have one too.
underrated channel
5:42 You don't buy clicky switches for the sound, you buy clicky switches for the tactile feedback..
I just got this keyboard yesterday. In my opinion it was worth 120$
If it works then it's good
How many $120 60% keyboards have you looked up or tried? It might seem worth it because of a lack of experience but that price gets you fully aluminum cases and better build.
They should make a black widow 60% with green switches, I’d cop
