    Our power was out for two days last week after a snow storm. The small generator ran for two days straight and ran a 600 watt oil heater, a 30 inch flat screen TV, a Spectrum TV Box, and two lamp. Once a day, we'd unplug the oil heater, and plug in the refrigerator for an hour or two. It used about two/three gallons of gas. Thanks for watching. Jim

      It seems loud

      @@opus4rv YEP. REAL LOUD. ONE GALLON GASOLINE LAST 8 HOURS +. I ONLY HAD TO USE IT TWICE IN THE PAST THREE YEARS, AND LAST TIME WAS JUST A FEW HOURS. THEY MUST HAVE FIXED THE LOCAL ELECTRIC GRID, DOES NOT GO OUT ANYMORE. BUT SPORING STORMS ARE COMING SOON!

    The oil mixing cup is attached to the gas cap, the clear plastic cup

    I would like a video on how to clean the spark plug and air filters.
    And mines is making a funny noise the noise gets loud and soft

      Great idea for a video EL! I just take the spark plug out, let it cool down, and then spray the spark plug with starter fluid. You need a small tool to measure and set the gap. I've never done that myself, I just put a new spark plug in every year or two, plus I bought a few extra spark plugs for emergencies. I don't think it has an air filter, the dirty air just shoots out the side. A while back a fella made a comment on one of my generator vids that said, it would run a lot better if I set the gap on the spark plug. I'm not a mechanic, but I'll check into it. I think some filters need soaked in oil, check your manual! Thanks for watching! Jim

    I have one exactly like that, and the oil mix says 50:1

    Do you know if you can hook up a big fridge to this machine?

    • @JimVincitore
      @JimVincitore  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Stet Tan Check the tag on the back of the frig for the watts. I think you can run a frig from it, but it might not be a good idea for long term. I would say it's more of a camp ground, picnic type of generator. Where I live, the power goes out for a few hours or half a day, it works great for that. I run a small TV and a lamp off it!

      Thanks for your reply. Yes, I purposely bought this little generator for camping. But, at times, the power does go out in my area (Los Angeles), so I wanted to make sure I had something that can be used for the fridge. It would definitely be short time use, just to maintain fridge temp from getting too warm. I'll check the tag of the fridge.
      Thanks again.

      My ma says if the powers out, just don't open the frig. The food will be OK for 24 hours or more.

      In the event that I have to open the refrigerator, I probably need the generator to cool it back down. That's my main concern.

    I just bought this. Put in gas and oil. Turned the fuel injector switch on and choke to the left. But when I flip the "on" switch nothing happens. The motor does not come on. What did I do wrong?

    • @JimVincitore
      @JimVincitore  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi JY! On mine, I gotta pull the cord a few times to start the motor, just like a lawn mower. Make sure the spark plug is good too. If there is no spark, it won't start. Thanks for watching. Jim

      Check the spark plug. I talk about spark plugs toward the end on video one.

      Thanks, I will check the spark plugs later. I followed all the instructions and poured in mixed 50:1 oil. I followed all the steps 1-6 including pulling the cord (but the "on" switch in the step before did nothing so pulling the cord is pointless). It's been frustrating. What if I bought a dud (even though I bought it brand new)?

    • @traey1775
      @traey1775 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Another possibility: What is the capacity of the fuel tank? I poured in half a gallon of fuel before it started overflowing. Was I supposed to do something after opening the lid before I poured in the gas? I understood the capacity to be 1 gallon, not 1/2 gallon. It's just strange and maybe this could give a hint to what the problem is?

    • @JimVincitore
      @JimVincitore  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm no expert at small motors. I think it takes a gallon, maybe a little more. You might have to pull the cord many many times before it starts. Small motors are a real pain to start up.

    Dumb question, Can you run a 60" LED TV with this generator? Short term

    • @JimVincitore
      @JimVincitore  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi K! I'm not an electrician , I don't know. I would not risk shorting out the TV. I think generator power fluctuates, up and down. Get a little cheap TV to get you through the power outages. I got a cheapy at Goodwill for $10.00. Jim

    BTW, don't ever use starter fluid on a 2 stroke engine dude! EVER!

    • @TheMrJoeConnor
      @TheMrJoeConnor 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to get a better mixture if it isn't starting within 2 pulls.

    I can guarantee you are having trouble starting that thing because your spark plug is not of high quality...AND it needs to be gapped correctly. 0.032 gap or/ 0.028" / 0.032" 0.7/0.8mm
    You should not give people advice when you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Starter fluid is for 4 stroke engines. You said this was a gas engine..it is NOT. It's a gas/oil or 2 stroke fuel engine. Never use regular engine oil on a 2 stroke engine dude, you're going to give people terrible advice and they will sue you for doing so. If you're going to give advice on things you have absolutely no clue what you're talking about...you may want to consider a "Disclaimer" at the beginning of your extremely misguided videos/tutorials man. Or, just don't be the guy who plays like he knows shit when he knows he's just guessing. Maybe that is the best idea here.
