  • One of our most loved models is now even more lovable. See how Ford Fiesta MHEV (Mild Hybrid Engine) gives you more power with lower emissions.
    Explore #FordFiesta 👉 ford.to/Fiesta
Ford Fiesta MHEV is part of our commitment to electrification, and one of 14 electrified Ford vehicles to be launched in 2020.
The EcoBoost Hybrid engine uses a small electric motor with a 48-volt battery to improve efficiency.
Instead of driving solely on electric power (like an all-electric vehicle does), the electric motor provides an extra boost to the petrol engine when needed.
Mild Hybrid technology also uses regenerative braking, which charges the battery by capturing energy that’s usually lost when you slow down. This helps increase your fuel economy and reduce emissions.

Mild hybrids suck. I’d rather have an eco-engine than a mild hybrid and I’m someone who really wants a proper BEV.

A step in the right direction but still not enough. Plenty of great small electric cars out there so why can't the fiesta be full plug in?

It is interesting to see if it is the 140hp engine plus electric or the 125 engine plus the electric engine in the Fiesta 155hp.

Un vero peccato però avere tolto tante cose della ST line. Possiedo una del 2019, e nelle nuove non esiste più i freni a disco posteriore, spoiler ecc.

I’m a huge ford fan , but this mild electric vehicle isn’t worth the money. At least give us a hybrid fiesta rather than this mild effort . And the price point is too high for this . I’d pay this for a hybrid and something that offers more than 5% improvement. I think this mild hybrid is just a wast of time. Your putting a small battery to aid the engine and trying to pass it off as something amazing and it’s really not. I’m really disappointed

Be happy it retains the excellent 6 speed manual transmission thanks to having a mild Hybrid rather than full hybrid

I worked on hybrids back in the early 1990s. These drivetrains are a myth with regards to fuel economy. Firstly converting fuel energy to electrical energy is inefficient and fuel is better used to drive the car directly, secondly you now have two powertrains to carry around and extra weight equals more fuel required. The only hybrid system that really works is a full parallel hybrid. Also full electric isn't a good choice unless you have the electric infrastructure, which most of the world doesn't, and the majority of your electrical energy comes from renewables, which again in most of the world it doesn't.

Oh wow, a hybrid vehicle, that's so 2010 of you.... 😱🙄 You're so far behind the times it is crazy. Hurry up and release a EV Fiesta Zetec-S with 'proper' range, and I'll trade in my current 2014 model for one.

    • @neovenom9833
      @neovenom9833 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Back in 2010 these types of vehicles were easily 15 to 20% more expensive thus not profitable and technologically not on point compared to today.
You would not have bought one. you would have said something like, I can get a VW polo for that money.

@@neovenom9833 very judgemental of you, you don't know me; what o want and what k can afford. In 2010 hybrids were common place, and as you can see if you look at trends, all those who were making hybrids in 2010 are currently leading the market on EVs... If you fall behind the game and everyone's progression it quite often results in the end of he company. Look at Nokia for example. Of Ford don't catch up and begin releasing EVs soon (next 5-7 years) they will become obsolete

A bit late to the party perhaps, but to be fair mild hybrids have only really got going properly in the last few years, especially in the uk. Of course full hybrids have been around over 20 years now.
I like this set up, where the motor is only to assist the petrol engine. Thus allowing the 1 litre engine to produce 155bhp abd 178lbsft of torque, coupled with (apparently) 56mpg. Producing a car that can be had new for 20k and is still pretty zippy. Reports of between 8 and 9 seconds 0-60.
