Yeah, in _Mission Impossible: Fallout_ , wasn't one of the major personal stakes underlying the major plot stake of 1/3rd of the population being wiped out was the fact that Ethan Hunt's ex-wife Julia (played by Michelle Monagan) was working for a NGO at the spot of the Major River Basin that was going to get nuked? Mission Accomplished Tom Cruise and Co's mission was to bring some thrills to the Summer and they do and then some. Aside from his mother Margaret ,Uncle Donald and his ex wife he doesn't really have any family. His IMF team are his family and friends. With those familial ties come connections to others and the problems they have so of course Ethan is going to help them and protect them any way he can. I think it was wise to use this in the movie because it grounds it and gives it emotional weight. This plays out in some great scenes with several other characters. All of the actors do a great job with the inclusion of Haley Attwell as a complication filling but lovely lady.C Chief villain Gabriel (Esai Morales), and his henchwoman, Paris (Pom Klementieff)and the relentless pursuer pagent Jasper Briggs (Shea Whigham) Every character means something either as thorns in the side or allies. Director Christopher McQuarrie and Cruise wanted audiences to be immersed in and feel like they are part of the action sequences and fight scenes and its brilliantly done in some catch your breath if you can manner. Portions of the film reminded me of some of my favorite movies and TV shows like Sneakers and Rabbit Hole. The movie even amusingly pokes fun at itself in a couple of scenes. For the last 3 MI movies I've said Ethan Hunt is America's James Bond and a couple of threads in this movie make it a fact. The movie definitely left me with questions that I hope part 2 provides. PROBLEMS: Things get a bit jumbled here and there. There are a couple of far too precise and convenient moments. I did start to feel the length of the movie at times. Scale of 1 to 10 an 8.5 Cruise spoke about his admiration of Harrison Ford last week and how he hopes to play Ethan Hunt until he's 80 . I think he can probably pull it off.
I remember back in 2019. Paramount, Skydance and Cruise himself announced back to back sequels:part 7 for 2021 and part 8 for 2022. The pandemic pushed back production. As production wrapped and the teaser trailer dropped, thIs as the first of 2 films would be the final chapter in the series. This was definitely worth the wait. The story is brilliant and the cast is good. These action sequences are all incredible and steady keep you on the edge. Well constructed for Cruise to do his thing and other actors getting into the action as well. I did see this on IMAX and enjoyed every minute. Right now, this is one of the better films out among failing blockbusters. Dead Reckoning Part Two was hallway through filming when the actors strike started. No telling how it'll be finished and/or released.
Korey keeps saying they don't use CGI but I see alooooot of CGI being used, they got him fooled. I wish Korey did this kind of research for all the movies he reviews, I've seen him complain about CGI when it's not being used for other movies
Korey you gotta show them choppers 🤣🤣. Going and see it tonight. I want to watch this review so bad but I’ll wait until tomorrow to watch this review. Yes Tom Cruise is a true authentic movie star and he is nice as well. Kudos to Tom Cruise.
Tom Cruise was starting his career in Risky Business in 1983 then the Outsiders and more. In mid 90s, he starting the blockbuster hit based on the same title TV series; Mission: Impossible and so forth. Now that film could be the best series finale than today’s movie series; Fast and Furious. Paramount and Tom, thanks for making the best spy movie franchise ever.
It's a better than sex for me. My expectations were not met coming from MI: Fallout, but it was still very satisfying once I let those expectations go. Can't wait to watch it for the 5th time! This movie is so amazing!
Mark 23:55? Wait! That gap space?! To keep passengers and crew from the hazards of walking from one railcar to another, they use articulated passways. They painted it that shade of green to block it out it would look like an old-fashioned train without that safety feature. That way, the later trestle scenes with dangling railcars would fit in with their plans. Until you pointed it out to me, I didn't think about that safety aspect as I saw the movie last Saturday afternoon. 🤔 My 1st grade class got to ride the last "Santa Fe" passenger service train before "AmTrak" took over. The railcars were connected in such a way that we could walk from one to the other without experiencing outdoor elements. It is very different from the amusement park trains at both "Frontier City" and "Six Flags Over Texas" that don't allow walking from railcar to railcar because they lack that safety feature. Besides that, they weren't designed to be that authentic anyway, as the ends lack doors or gates in the first place. So no leaping over couplers to get from one railcar to another.
1.7K Thumbs Up + Mine! 👍 You're welcome! Thanks! 😊 Notes: "Full Price" × 3 = Yay! 🎉 But I had little choice but to pay the local Matinee Price! The length?! I didn't think about it either until I missed the end of the end credits to see if there was a stinger, because of the need to go, but there was a line, so I rushed home. Martin compares it to Indiana Jones' movie, but that didn't occure to me. I love them both, by the way. What I was thinking about was how Hayley Atwell seems to look younger than she has in previous roles. Also, Pom, she plays the Supervillaness "LASER" in that movie with Melissa McCarthy as an overweight Superheroine, and Pom is blonde in that like she is in this one. She's also been blonde in several interviews that I've seen. It's just that I got so used to her being "Mantis"! Her dancing in "The Suicide Squad" it is too brief for me to really notice her without the ability to pause on that scene. But anyway, this movie has my favorite Pom character that isn't "Mantis" and my favorite Hayley character that isn't "Peggy Carter". Since I realized that the movie had two "MCU" stars in it, I wondered what might happen if both Peggy & Mantis, switched places with Grace & whatever Pom's character's name is. And which "Guardians" situation would they be put in. 🤔 😊
Mark 26:27. "Watered down with CG"? I remember when people were proud about how many potential lives it would save! That makes me wonder if people see movies for the wrong motivations. 🤔 "Somebody almost died?! Oh, someone actually died?! Now I'm definitely going to see that! I've never seen a person die before!" 😳
Ok, but at the same time, there is a point where you over-rely on CG. I don’t think they were used to save lives anymore so much as create the spectacle. They were used to replace the stuff that Can be done practically, and there is an entertainment value to watching men and women actually do the more dangerous stunts. There is still a balance, and even when CG was just starting to be used, the biggest praise of movies was when there was actually stunt-work and practical effects being the main focus. Again, you have to realize that we’re talking about the fact that CG has taken over so much that it has become not only, a crutch, but just the movie, and so there isn’t really anything actually happening in front of the camera.
In my opinion MI-7 is not quite as good as 4, 5, and 6. But it is still pretty damn good. I actually liked the hype of the cliff jump, because knowing he actually made that jump added to the moment.
The sometimes overlooked virtue of the MI movies is the humor, it is in just the right measure. And the humor star of this movie is a yellow Fiat, there was quite a bit of laughter when it made its appearance.
I was wondering why the people always continue each other's dialogue. None of these stunts were better than him hanging off the side of a plane. That's his best stunt IMO
@@wilcee238building climbing was great, but not as visceral as seeing the plane leaving the ground with him on it, with no apparent safety systems attached to him. He at least had rope and gloves for the building climb, and we knew he had a parachute for this new movie’s bike cliff jump. For the airplane stunt, it looked like it was just him hanging on for dear life with just his grit and fingertips. Best one for me.
Im sorry did we watch the same movie cause this movie was a step back from the previous..the train scene and car chase scene were entirely to long for one and the way they did the lady characters seemed like 1990s disposable type stuff
What make the movies work on an action level is the same as John wick. Both Ethan hunt and John wick you see them get hurt and they don't easily bounce back
My goodness this was one of the most predictable plots and story lines but the camera shots and acting made it well above worth watching. I haven’t watch MI in about ten years and the masks are ridiculous but I throughly enjoyed this 😊
Man i really like the MI series. Dead reckoning was pretty good. Has some nice scences in there. The car chase, the train, the chase in the airport, and the desert scene NOOOOOICCE! Cant wait for the 2nd part 👍🏿
Great Review Guys! I've been binge watching all the MI movies in preparation for this one! Could you also please watch snd review "sound of freedom" , it is based on the true story of federal agent, Tim Ballard, who travels to Columbia to rescue a trafficked girl. It is a powerful movie with an important message for our children today
@@dougdeveloper8850 I understand movies are primarily for entertainment, but this movie about rescuing children from traffickers is not a political agenda, its education and awareness on basic human rights being violated. I hope you see it, you'll be glad you did to keep your loved ones safe! ✌

Have they watched the other Mission Impossible films? They've shown, in detail, how the mask machine works. They also heard the complaints about always using the mask so they've used them less and actually had the machine break multiple times so the team would have to complete their mission without having a mask. Also, the only weaker film has been MI2. The rest have all been good which is insane to think about.

All of the actors do a great job with the inclusion of Haley Attwell as a complication filling but lovely lady.C Chief villain Gabriel (Esai Morales), and his henchwoman, Paris (Pom Klementieff)and the relentless pursuer pagent Jasper Briggs (Shea Whigham)
Every character means something either as thorns in the side or allies.
Scale of 1 to 10 an 8.5
Cruise spoke about his admiration of Harrison Ford last week and how he hopes to play Ethan Hunt until he's 80 .
GREAT FREAKING MOVIE!!!
Tom Cruise is the action GOAT!!!!
Korey keeps saying they don't use CGI but I see alooooot of CGI being used, they got him fooled. I wish Korey did this kind of research for all the movies he reviews, I've seen him complain about CGI when it's not being used for other movies
I watch behind the scenes and came out surprised that David Fincher uses a lot of CGI in his movies.
Rome did the car chase that Fast X tried and failed to do, and they did it with a lot of practical effects.
Saw it last night in Dolby Cinema. Loved every minute of it
Korey you gotta show them choppers 🤣🤣.
Fallout was slam-bang-GREAT-something the F/F franchise hopes they could achieve. But won't.
Fallout was the best one though
1:36 is it just me or did korey running like Tom Cruise, looks like how Oscar was running in that one scene from the Proud Family movie
Mark 23:55? 🤔
My 1st grade class got to ride the last "Santa Fe" passenger service train before "AmTrak" took over.
Thanks! 😊
Notes: "Full Price" × 3 = Yay!
I was stressed af watching that train scene
My goodness, not the wig & shades. 🤣🤣🤣🤣I mentally fainted. Thanks for the laughs & good review.
Korey Urameshi
I see it
Give Korey a suit & a goatee, he kinda looks like Morris Day 😂
Look at his Gomez Addams Halloween costume.
@@wilcee238 that was definitely him as Morris Day 😂
the story aspect tapered off since III, but the stunts just kept getting bigger and bigger
That boardroom scene that dragged forever was so dumb, I actually laughed.
Huh
I thought it was a Metal Gear Solid cutscene for a second.
In my opinion MI-7 is not quite as good as 4, 5, and 6. But it is still pretty damn good. I actually liked the hype of the cliff jump, because knowing he actually made that jump added to the moment.
Yea I thought 3 was better too
Fucking hell, burst out laughing right at the very start 😂😂😂
The sometimes overlooked virtue of the MI movies is the humor, it is in just the right measure. And the humor star of this movie is a yellow Fiat, there was quite a bit of laughter when it made its appearance.
Tom Cruise refused to do only one thing in this movie. Kick Pom in the belly. Pom wanted him to do it but she refused. Class act.
She looked sexy in it
Saw it Sunday!! It’s one of my favorite films of the year!! In fact, might be my favorite so far. I need to check out Across the Spider-verse
Love ❤️ these movies 🎥 my Mom and I are going tomorrow at 7pm to see on a big IMAX screen!🙌
This movie was so dope, I must say Hayley Atwell was the highlight, her character really stuck with me.
Fast X is looking like the ‘Asylum’ version of ‘Dead Reckoning’
I'm grabbing a wig today!! & I'm accepting all missions 😎
I was wondering why the people always continue each other's dialogue. None of these stunts were better than him hanging off the side of a plane. That's his best stunt IMO
Nah that building he climbed in Ghost Protocol was his best stunt IMO
@@wilcee238building climbing was great, but not as visceral as seeing the plane leaving the ground with him on it, with no apparent safety systems attached to him.
He at least had rope and gloves for the building climb, and we knew he had a parachute for this new movie’s bike cliff jump. For the airplane stunt, it looked like it was just him hanging on for dear life with just his grit and fingertips. Best one for me.
Not Korey rocking the Ethan Hunt silk press 😂😂
It’s Ramathorn! 🤣
Im sorry did we watch the same movie cause this movie was a step back from the previous..the train scene and car chase scene were entirely to long for one and the way they did the lady characters seemed like 1990s disposable type stuff
I thought it was a rental to be honest
It’s a bit of a step back, but I think it’s still great.
What make the movies work on an action level is the same as John wick. Both Ethan hunt and John wick you see them get hurt and they don't easily bounce back
My goodness this was one of the most predictable plots and story lines but the camera shots and acting made it well above worth watching. I haven’t watch MI in about ten years and the masks are ridiculous but I throughly enjoyed this 😊
This is best action film of the summer saw it Monday I was screaming with happiness I hope destroy the box office shattered to pieces
I'm seeing this film in IMAX. 😎
Grim Reaper: "Be vewy, vewy, quiet. I'm hunting Tom Cruz. Hehehehe."
This movie has plot, action, acting. These mission impossible movies capture those great 90 action movies without the corniness
It is a powerful movie with an important message for our children today
nah no one wants messages shoved down our throats. We want just pure entertainment with no political agenda like this movie and John Wick Chapter 4.
@@dougdeveloper8850 I understand movies are primarily for entertainment, but this movie about rescuing children from traffickers is not a political agenda, its education and awareness on basic human rights being violated. I hope you see it, you'll be glad you did to keep your loved ones safe! ✌
@@dougdeveloper8850 I hate propaganda, and it was legitimately a good movie. Give it a shot.
Mark 31:43? Huh? Are you two really father and son?! 😮 You look the same age to me, though! (Give of take a year.) If you are so, that's amazing and belated congratulations! 🎉🎊✨️
Will try to check this out on imax before Oppenheimer shows up.
This is possibly the best review i have scene for this film. :)
The only weakness here is that I didn’t find the villain to be compelling. Otherwise, this shit rocked.
The villain was great.
Kory looks like hes about to star in hustle, and flow 2. Whoop that trick some more mayne😂
Man Korey you really do put Lot's of Effort in your Cosplays 😃😃
First Tuscaloosa Coleman, now Fredrick Hunt 😂😂
6:19 That's Tom Cruise punching Matt Lauer
Mark 35:07? Oh, since the third movie in the franchise series, not since you were a 3-year-old! 😁
Bro 2mins in an I’m dyin of laughter 😂😂😂😂
Talking of Mission Impossible some how that toupee has reduced Korey's expansive forehead.
This is me trying to get my Tom cruise on!
With the intro music combined, I thought that was the beginning of a rap music video
My theater was full of elderly people. Old heads love them some Cruise lol.
Lol Cruise is 60 himself. And the first Mission Impossivle movie came out in ‘96…. Not to mention the TV show came out in the 60s. Maybe old heads love both the Cruise and the franchise from way back!
Mine was all monroties❤❤❤ including seniors. Everyone loves Tom apparently the movie is killing it in India too
🤣😂😂😂😂😂🤣 Corey’s Tom Cruise costume ! Yeah the movie is phenomenal. Personally Ghost Protocol is my favourite. That movie is a whole vibe man. Rouge Nation and Fallout are 🔥 🔥 movies too. The 1st is a brilliant Neo noir thriller and the John Whoo instalment is a guilty pleasure lol
