Hi Elizabeth. I am just a subscriber too. But it seems as nobody getting answers… so sad. I guess that the red stripes are styrofoam or Eva ( a kind of hobby foam/ rubber ). Or you could buy a rubber mat the type you use to sleep on for camping . He makes such AWESOME pots. What a pity he does’nt have time to reply people asking for advice 😥😥😢

I wonder if you make the mold out of melamine board.
Good shape but the crucial part is that you need more than one such box 'cause it is destroyed in the end.
I will make the forms out of wood, screw them together and wet all surfaces with vegetable oil.

how do you seal the concrete ?
Sand first with a Whet stone for a nice finish, then paint.
