That is a lot of tunnels and bridges in a 100-mile stretch. It had to been very expensive to build that section of railway. When they are finished it will be an amazing trail to bike. Thank you for another great video.
Very nice , very sad to see the Parkersburg branch abandoned, I understand that CSX probably wishes it hadn’t abandoned it , it a long way around using the Shortline out of Clarksburg up to New Martinville then back down on the Ohio River Sub , the smaller tunnels obviously went into their decision As always great work
Yee Ha! I used to be a spelunker (of course us Hoosier's call them cavers) and your vid gave me flashbacks of some of the easier caves i've visited. This tunnel would be the most I would get to caving nowadays. Anyway, fun video as usual!!
Back in the 1990's that end of the Old tunnel was open. I walked in about 200 foot then it was water and muck. But you could see where there plugged the tunnel in middle. It looked like a concrete wall. That west entrance collapsed in onself betweeb 2005-2010. Closing it off. I think they shored it up. From what my father said. They tried to Dig down from the top of hill down and from the side of tunnel entrance.
I expect you'll know about the Church Hill tunnel in Richmond, Virginia, where the tunnel also collapsed, in this case burying a locomotive and it's driver, in the 1920's? Due to the hill being so unstable, they're both still down there.
Satolli, another awesome history walk and talk. I enjoyed it very much. Cheers, Mate.
Thanks Jack! Glad you liked it!

It is a lot of infrastructure. I'm thinking about taking a bicycle down to film the other tunnels.

You could fit into that opening but I'm not too sure how far you could go.

Thanks for the information. I didn't know anything about what you just mentioned.

Its a shame people have to deface things with graffiti. Its sad no one has any respect for things that dont belong to them
