From the customer consult, design creation, baking all the cakes, assembling the cake, cutting / shaping it to the right shape and then all the fondant and decorations it can be a three day process. Homelessness is a difficult situation to deal with and can really leave you feeling constantly tired out mentally and physically. Even if people may not outwardly show their gratitude, they might feel it inside. I've heard of people who've been homeless in the past and have had others do nice things for them. They may not say thanks or express their appreciation but those acts of compassion really meant something to them at the time.

@@yvonne8786I was a grocery clerk back in the 70's, when there were paper food stamps. Some people would make them stretch buying essentials and some would come up with filet mignon and lobster. Then go get in their Mercedes.

Dennis always tells them that once everyone is served, they can come back for seconds, so it's not at all that they're "taking advantage"; they're hungry!! Try to imagine being so hungry because you hadn't eaten in a day (or longer). Try to imagine not knowing when or where you might get access to food again. Try to have a little empathy instead of hatred for those who are so hungry and so unsure about where their next meal is coming from that they want a double helping.
