    Regarding the "Full API Key:"
Many people think that just because it's a game, it's okay to share their Full API Data.
Consider this real - life -scenario: You apply for a job. The company want access to all your email accounts. They wish to read it. They wish to review and read all of your WhatsApp messages, they wanna know the names of all your friends, they go and inspect your bank accounts and financial situation, along with everything else that is private and worth protecting to you. And this is what they require from every applicant - with no guarantee of being accepted. Of course, there's no privacy protection either. What applies to us in real life should also apply in a game. Therefore, I would never share my full API key. I prioritize my security and principles over joining a corp that requires full API. If corporations, in addition to the API key, also ask for personal information, then that is for me acrosses a deep red line and has nothing to do with the game itself: Just my own personal opinion
What's your idea of the perfect corp? Feel free to share in the comments !

@@gingerbong Giving full API does not compromise your account security in anyway. The dude probably didn't have two step auth and probably gave information outside of game. Nothing in the API gives anything related to passwords or account security it's all in game data that corps use to screen and vet people any high end group will demand full API or you have no shot of getting in.

Thanks for that. It's important for beginners to watch videos on how to find good corporations because as a newcomer, the complex world of the game can be very challenging. Identifying and joining corporations that align with a player's interests and play style is nearly not possible for new players.

When I first joined EVE I did the random cold call to the first corp. in the corp. listings and received exactly what you did. A very creepy full API corp. that the leader always wanted to private chat and then ask your name and job along with everything else. Needless to say, I left that corp after private chat quiz (of which I did not answer any personal questions) and promptly cut the api and changed my password then moved main to alt account. Anyone that I have never met does not need access to my holdings and wallet. The result is that all corporations are scary to me and I can never feel any trust even with corps. I have been with for years. So, I share your opinion, totally.

    • @ThisisAmi-Eveonline-xi8fb
      @ThisisAmi-Eveonline-xi8fb  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

It's just that they don't have access and can only read the information, but even that is a lot for a game. Private questions should have no place in a game, especially in the early phase of the application. Private should remain private. It's sometimes strange that we pay more attention to our privacy in real life than in a game. We would never work for a company that asks to read all your emails and WhatsApp messages and also wants to first check your financial situation via bank account

A long, time ago I was tempted to join Goons to see if I could sabotage them from within. But I ended up staying in HiSec. When I returned to playing recently, I was going to join Pandemic Horde, until some chat in EvE Uni revealed the CEO went semi-sociopath on a member corp that was leaving. Way too much drama for my tastes. Stuck with HiSec again. I basically just chatted with some random people in the various channels I was a part of, helped some people out and ended up receiving an open invite. My main is solo, but I have a 2nd account and those characters are in the other corp which does HiSec/LowSec stuff.

Thank you for the detailed feedback. The larger Corps/Alliances in 'EVE Online' often face the issue of having numerous "mandatory todo" which can limit my freedom of gameplay. This starts with requirements like achieving a certain number of kills each month, joining fleets, directives on which ships to purchase, and, in extreme cases, they asking for your online time means how often you must be online. Despite these constraints, countless players accept and enjoy this gameplay style.
Horde offers a significant freedom, they dont have super strict regulations. Players can still enjoy a relatively unrestricted gaming experience without heavy big regulations from the Horde management. Furthermore, when Horde engages in war and moves to Delve, each player can freely choose whether to stay in the north or not.
I once joined a corp that was part of the Goons and was kicked out after my three months travel due to inactivity. 'EVE Online' is a game where many players take breaks. Ultimately, there's only one thing that truly matters: I'm investing my time into this game, so it needs to be enjoyable for me

The people and environment are great, but the resources we need to mobilize to maintain sov are pretty overwhelming. As some one deep in a null sec block, my best recommendation is to find a niche and pitch it. You might not know what that is yet, or you may change it half way through, but corps love hunters, sabers, logi, ewar pilots, and GOOD small gang warfare pilots. I'm a hunter i spend my days catching things for my mates to kill, and even in horde they always need more hunters. If you at least say you want to learn one of these things and put some effort in, most corp will be MORE than happy to have you! The only thing I would warn you about is almost anyone can be an F1 monkey, so if that is all you want to do that is fine but don't expect to be able to get into some of the more "elite" pvp corps. its still fine to be an F1 monkey just not really sought after.

    Moin,

I wouldn't say never give out your full API but I would say research what group is asking for it before you do because any high end group that takes their screening seriously will ask for full API before they even interview you It is a very vital part of keeping spies and other bad apples out of your group.

Every large alliance has spies in the other big alliance. I myself have an alt with the Goons and for sure with horde. How do you want to identify a spy through the API Key when you:
create a new account... play for half a year, join an inconspicuous Corp and don't have any email correspondence with your "main" or conduct ISK transfers and so on?
The thing with the API Key is useless and they know it. Just look at Jay Amazingness from the Goons!
First, he deactivated the Jump Clone service which destroyed 52,670 Jump Clones of players and 70% could only be saved by a server maintenance. He has otherwise stolen an incredible amount (Titans and several trillion ISK).
Jay Amazingness is now a member of Pandemic Legion :-) API brings nothing. Zero. Those who want to cheat, who want to be a spy, can do so. API offers zero protection, because you can create many accounts.
