BO1 was literally so good with the amount of sheer content it contained. Top 4 multiplayer, Zombies, Gun Game, Wager matches, great campaign, sick sound design, memorable maps, and some of the best prestige emblems in the series. I miss this game so much.

I play on ps5 and turned off crossplay. I have a 2.4 kd and am getting camos easily. Yet I still am not having fun. Treyarch might have made the game, but it isn't the same developers as these good cods
Unfortunately I don’t think there will be a revert back to the original movement until warzone is done. Since all the recent ones have been integrated heavily with warzone I think it’ll have to match for the foreseeable future.
I feel like a "traditional mode" without the obnoxious movement would be pretty easy to implement. No tac sprint or leaning or whatever, just cod basics.
Fast movement and small maps kills the game. When you dont have to consider your team, coordinating, or tactfully navigating the map, then the game falls flat. With movement people can take any route because coming into a 1v1 can be averted or dominated with pace rather than actually having numbers or coordination with your team. People just fly around aimlessly, theres no flow to any match or map, and it just feels like your head is on a swivel because you can die from literally anywhere which just prevents tactics and map progression. The skill in this game is being better at movement and hitting your shots. So the game is very linear into chaos every match no matter the map.
Miss the menu layouts that just have an autentic and unique feeling. Today looks like a free to play mobile game and doesnt even feel like it belongs to the game itself
you would think that the developers would take a hint that players would rather play a map thats 10 years old from an older game then any of the newer maps they come up with. they really dont listen to their fanbase
Black Ops 1 had no micro transactions, no skins, no SBMM, good maps, good guns, great setting, all 3 modes were legendary. Why do you think they keep bringing maps from this game back? Because they couldn’t come up with a new map that’s good like these even if they tried.
They make maps like they're designing a real living space....maps are supposed to work for the game NOT to be a real living space. All these maps where they meticulously create a town for us to fight in is so frustrating, they don't design maps with fun in mind anymore.

Thank you. Outside of sbmm, movement is the biggest flaw in todays cod. Honestly, most of the modern cod maps would be great/top tier maps in cod4-bo2 era. Tbh, if we had bo1 movement today, then sbmm wouldn’t be as bad, bc map knowledge would once more become a skill gap.
In the older cods it felt like there was a good balance between offense and defensive plays. Nowadays it feels like if you're not abusing the movement to the fullest you're easy food for those that do use it well and sweat their hearts out. Between camping and constant sprinting there's no inbetween anymore.
if bo6 did not have sweats, i would gladly play mp, as it stands, i only got it for zombies (just like the last 3 games in the series, mw2 2022 doesn't count)
The best Call of Duty is still Call of Duty: Black Ops II (2012). It wouldn't matter all that much if Black Ops II had SBM, because no one weapon is way more meta than any other weapon. The weapons are so balanced that the distance in terms of quality between the worst weapon in Black Ops II and the best weapon is a hop, skip, and jump away. The score streaks are also very well balanced.

I would love to see a side by side of someone playing black ops 1 nuketown in a private match run from back of one house spawn to the other houses spawn and then do the same test in black ops 6 to see the time difference. It just looks so much faster like everyone is cracked out.
In black ops 6 they looked at the fact that everyone would only play shipment and decided to make every single map shipment & the movement(sliding) is unbearable and add the SBMM/EOMM cherry on top. They need to put every legacy cod on gamepass like they have for Gears & Halo.
It wouldn't take them much to have a "no slide" playlist - just a few core modes and maps with sliding disabled. It would be interesting to see how that goes down.
Soooo we complained about advanced movement. They took it away. We get new movement that actually makes the game refreshing. We complain again. So the solution is go back to an old style of play because thats what you grew up on. Thats what you are accustomed to. Almost "new" implementation of these games are a reflection of their fan base.
Crazy to think about it. I was 13 when it came out and it blew everyone's mind in my highschool and so much great on release content. Great guns, bad guns, fun games, tons of game modes, easily one of the best if not the best cod without dlc.
My one gripe with the game isn’t even the maps. It’s the inconsistency with the guns. I could shred someone with an SMG in 3 rounds. 30 seconds later I’m having to put like 8 rounds in someone from the same distance? Makes zero sense.
Black Ops 1's Multiplayer is a more competitive experience in the sense that you can control the map, predict the flow and have a fair fight. It feels relaxed yet can get intense with adrenaline. Black Ops 6's maps are uncontrollable chaotic experiences designed to get you random kills and deaths. Treyarch maps used to be the most streamlined and yet here we are with the amount of chaos of MW2019's maps except instead of everyone camping it is just one chaotic shipment experience. At this point, just give me as many BO1 remasters as possible for BO6.

Honestly, they just need to decrease the movement speed. Or remove unlimited sprint and tac sprint and just turn them into perks. The maps in BO6 would be better then.
IMO 1:45 is exactly where COD started going wrong. At 1:45 you have a guy camping in a corner with Ghost Pro on. This was the first cod where they eliminated stopping power and Jugg entirely and it drastically slowed down the game where a lot of players ran ghost. I miss the pacing of Cod4, WaW, and MW2. It was fast paced but didnt feel chaotic. I haven't played any of the newer cods but the gameplay always looks meh to me
Trouble with bo6 is the fact the movement feels the fastest and the maps are the smallest and worst designed by a mile. If the maps were a lot larger and they just reduced the speed of players it imo would have been a massive improvement, or even add more of a penalty to sliding, diving etc it should be used for evasive actions. Bo6 you spawn run forward get a kill and then the guy you kill spawns behind you with the perk that lets you see through wall when you spawn and you die. Maps have not flow at all.
Need to keep it simple with COD. All the customization stuff is nice but it doesnt make the game overall better. I wish they would release a new cod that used the old mechanics. in terms of movement, perk system, etc
The hit marker and kill sound in bo6 and probably the last 4 cods really killed it for me and the last cod I played was cod 4 rm… but even just watching gameplay the whole soundscape annoys me but that’s just my two cents

Even with all the bs in BO6, I'm having a fun time with it. I recently built a gaming PC and have been playing BO6 with mouse and keys, and the fast paced action has been forcing me to get better with mouse aim and tracking. I would not have bought this game on its own if it was not included in gamepass though
BO6 time to kill it’s ridiculous. I feel like I go through an entire magazine and 20 hit markers before I actually get a kill then I get killed as I’m reloading. The balance is so bad!
The Difference is that you can play bo1 for several hours without going insane, while 3 matches of bo6 are enough.

Bo1 is peak. Great movement great gunplay great sound. Not moving a billion miles an hour , positioning and having your gun up actually mattered.
Bo1 is by far my fav but the sound man haha it is nice but there are 5 different sounds for 50 weapons:D

Scout pulse is only seen by you and it goes away once you die. UAV is for whole team and lasts full duration regardless of death.
I miss this type of gameplay, the more slow paced movements and not the crazy sliding on ice movement.
