  • Life moves on after the death of my spouse, as the trailer still needs to be maintained and readied for eventual travel once again. This is a year dealing with profound loss, working to regroup at home, and beginning to recover with travel plans that have forever been altered. A new journey always begins with a fist step, and for my RV travel, this first trip.

Five years ago, I lost my wife to lung cancer. We always used to talk about getting an RV after retiring but she didn’t make it that far. Today I have a travel trailer and I’m retired, learning how to be happy and healthy alone. Sorry for your loss- but life can be great again👍

I'm sorry for your loss as well. My wife and I too had many travel plans, but her cancer treatment and sudden spread kept us close to home. Thankfully we did make some short trips prior. I'm glad you are getting out with the trailer, and yes we can be happy despite a profound loss. Thanks for being here.

My husband and I travelled in the USA bac in 2004 now he's been gone 3 years I spent 25 good years looking after him through cancer. I still miss him greatly though the years pass quickly though, and the ache is easing.
I'm feeling for you as I know how it was hard.

Sorry for your loss. I travel solo because I’ve been single for many years. I bought a Tab320S in 2019 and have pulled it and learned to back it into the camp site (but love when I have a pull through 😁). I enjoy the solitude and freedom to go where and when I want or just decide to enjoy reading or relaxing at camp. I purchased a Trek e-bike in October and it will go with me too. I’m stationary currently, caring for my mom first before she passed and now caring for my dad. Enjoy your travels.

So sorry for your loss. I lost the love of my life a little over a year ago. Travel has really not been the same. At least you have the uCamp community. We had our Pleasure Way class b less than a year when my husband passed away. It is a 1990s model and we were working out the issues together... it is a lot harder as a solo. I find I like traveling in our minivan as a solo more than the class b, that just seems so empty without my mate. I’m so sorry you lost your wife. I pray you go through the grieving process with support from others. Love your video, but the music is a bit loud and distracting. I don’t think you need it. I’m glad you are back to camping!

The State Parks in Michigan are awesome….. three that I highly recommend are : Grand Haven State Park, Muskegon State Park ( with Olympic size luge that runs year round along with zip lines and our beautiful Lake Michigan) and Ludington State Park. All three of these are within 2 hours of each other. Of course, there are many more as you continue north bound. But a great destination not all that far from DC.

First time on your channel. Sorry for your loss. I have to say that the loud happy dance music is unnecessary and makes what is otherwise interesting content difficult to watch. I wouldn't hike these locations with loud music blaring in my ears because I would want to be able to enjoy the natural sound of the environment.

Hi, very nice video. Your voice sounds very familiar. Are you a professional narrator. Your video is also very well edited and assembled. I decided to subscribe and eagerly await for more releases. My condolences on the passing of your beloved. She would be proud and happy you’re keeping yourself busy.

Thank you, and for subscribing, I appreciate the support. My wife was a great inspiration, we each had long careers as broadcast journalists. Video production is fairly new for me, I hope to have fun with it and share some good stories as I travel on my own.

On FB, I was looking at friends and friends of friends of friends, and saw from there that you had social media and that Paula had passed in March. I’m so sorry. We were friends at Penn State.

Hello from Phoenix, Arizona, I’m sorry about the loss of your wife. I went to a divorce, which is probably close to that. I did lose my dad about two months ago though so I understand I’ll get in my prayers. I just came across your channel by accident and I would love to get out someplace cooler this summer. I do love Phoenix and the desert but not in the summer. It’s just too hot, the other half the year is beautiful though I guess for now I’m gonna enjoy it through your videos

Thank you. Separation can be difficult no matter how you go through it. I lost both my parents, my father almost 25 years ago and it's still very vivid. Thanks for being here and I hope in some small way videos will help as we keep going.

I don't find the music to be a problem. You have a nice voice for the narrative. Im a new subscriber. What kind of car are you using to tow the Tab, and how does it perform?

Thank you, and for subscribing! I'm using a 2016 Porsche Cayenne with a factory tow package, found it used for no more than I'd have paid for a decent truck. It works exceptionally well, rated for 7700 pounds, and I pulling about 3500.
