I used your tips today when going for a club fitting at American Golf. Happily I didn’t embarrass myself when trying out the clubs. Ended up buying a Ping G430 7 wood which seemed more forgiving than the hybrids I tried. Thanks for the tips - can’t wait to apply them on the course once the new club arrives 😊
I am forever grateful to you. I started golf 2 years ago and I was struggling with breaking 100 for the longest time but my friend recommended your videos to me. I was hesitant to listen as I thought you couldn't help as you didn't know how I was struggling, but I was very very wrong. Just the mindset that you bring has helped me improve. I'm not trying to kill it and I'm managing the course better. I am here to report my first ever score under 100 I got a 96. Thank you.
Always great lessons. Love the personality, information and I appreciate you don’t just show your best strikes. Makes it real and relatable! Can’t wait till the next video!
I do love my hybrids Matt. I like the ball positioning tip. I once gave a golf lesson to a guy who was trying to hit the ball off his back foot. He kept popping the ball up. I had him place the ball just a bit more forward from center and he started hitting the ball better. It works.
Our spring cup this weekend. I'm fully loaded with your tips and sooo feeling the love and hope they'll prove rewarding but hey ho it's all about the wonderful game. Nice one Matt
Thanks Matt! I took this lesson out on the course with me. I have new cobra one length forged tec clubs and hybrids. I was busting the hybrids long and clean, thanks for the lesson!
Timely lesson Matt - worked on a similar drill with the hybrid and fairway today....centered up, with the ball the width of the club head forward. Now that I think of it, puts it pretty close to your 1” behind the lead foot.
Great tip would you play hybrid of fairway wood off a tee with the same ball position I often hit big hooks with these off a tee and not sure why. Your help is desperately needed!
It’s funny, I was thinking to myself earlier today that there’s loads of videos about hitting irons or hitting driver and hardly anything about fairway woods and hybrids. Then ping, here’s this video!
When even the teacher can only hit the rescue one time out of three that's highly relatable. My best rescue shots look like his two bad ones. Looks like he's suggesting a driver-type backswing there. Others on YT say swing it like an iron. As usual, conflicting advice on tinternet.
What is the point of moving the ball around in the stance according to what club you are using? Are you trying to maximize the efficiency of each club in terms of trajectory and back spin? In theory you can play the ball from any position if you match up the club face to the target line with upper body tilt. Hence with the driver backwards tilt and the arms extend naturally to the ball. I would assume playing the ball back requires forward tilt.
Moving the ball forward in the stance seems counter intuitive when you are trying to achieve a low point after the ball, must require a large shift into the left side, which most older players and higher handicappers (I'm 61 and a 24 handicap) struggle with in the first place.
I am sorry but is this guy really good enough to be giving lessons to anyone better than -say 16 ? I am a 4 handicapper and I am sure I could beat him easily.

Hey Matt, don't tell the other two but you give the best tips and make the lessons simpler and easier to understand and execute. 👍
Agreed but again let's keep this on the DL

Nice job man. 96 is pretty good.

Thanks Matt. I’m working on unwinding all the faults that I have added to correct faults. I appreciate your guidance.
Loved it Matt. Hopefully, I can run with it.

Just discovered this vid, short and sweet!👍👍

Brilliant explanation and well put across!
Great advice Matt those 2nd shot par 5s are a doozy!
not anymore, easy for you now
Thanks for using the alignment stick. This helped me see exactly where the golf ball should be in my stance. 👍
Good On-ya for showing the shot tracer. Good valid tips as well.
Excellent video instruction!!
Nice simple instructions, thanks Matt.
Great lesson Matt!! Thanks!

Excellent video again
Great advice matt, will try those tips down the range 👍🏻👍🏻
Such a perfectly timed video for my goals this year!
I'll be coming back to this one a few times as I work on my woods this year!
Good work Matthew
Glad you enjoyed it
Used the tee drill today and hit the fairway 7 times. Love your channel. Love the tips and advice.
Thanks Matt.
Still a good lesson. Thanks
My Sim 3 hybrid is a work in process. I did hit a pretty little draw with it this past weekend.
keep working at it
Great advice 👍

Would ball position be the same 9ff the tee? I see many videos about fairway woods and hybrids but it's always off the deck
very nice video
Thanks

Re: ball position, I go with the width of hybrid or 3 wood head in front of centre of stance - seems to work
Sounds interesting and simple enough to remember
What if my hybrid is the same length as all my irons. Ball position still forward of center?
Anyway you could do a video on how to effectively punch or hit low shots
Hands low, ball low.
got one coming

Almost first!!! 🙃
Almost!
So the head of the hybrid is in the middle of your stance
now if Mizuno only made a nice easier to hit 7-wood

We all hit the diggers
yep that's golf!
Measure your heal from each leg , no way your in centre
I think you might need a lesson with Rick
First
fast fingers there pal
@@Mattfryergolf yes sir. I love your content.
Don't fix a fault with a fault. Righto
Anyone else hit their 3w farther than their driver or is it just me?
will be attack to down with driver so not launching properly
Third one tip . May not be good way to do it
I hate the high bread
not if it's a nice buttered loaf of bread ;)
Hey Matt , your position is not in centre , have a look 👀 at your video before you send them 🤷🏻♂️
