- Today I'm building a huge vanilla international airport with the NEW Airports DLC in Cities: Skylines [Tutorial] [Speedbuild]
I'm using no mods for that. The airport will have a big passenger terminal and a cargo terminal. The island is connected to the mainland with a highway bridge.

thew only thing I really wanted from this dlc is the ability to change trees on roads and buy/sell soil....maybe small parking lot asset ( european so we don't usually go with less is more for parking rl but SOME parking asset would be welcome ) but beside that I found more or less all of it skipable. The 2 radie stations is for those that wan tthem but I got 10 allreday which is enough and the creator maps and extra veicles doesn't add much for a more semi decorative builder. For fthose that want to get nitty gritty it should be welcome though.
I found the creators bridges and piers dlc among green city, masstransit an dthose kind of dlc more useful. More often than not I even skip on ore and oil industry dlc as those spawn 2-3 times more traffic than real industries does and just jam the roads needlessly. Can be built around but when I allready had vanilla industry specialisation which cause less traffic...

That's because the one way on the taxiways is messed up. Go back and you'll see that not all are going in the same direction

The airport looks nice, and I like the way you've used the electric cars recharge stations as parking lots. One thing though, using as reference the point of view of the end of the video, the taxiway on the far left in between the parked plane props has conflicting one-way directions, causing planes to perform a Space Shuttle-like take off from the taxiway itself, so might want to fix that :)

I really like this dlc but i wish that the airplanes had to go straight when taking off and landing, it turning right after it leaves the runway is pretty terrible. and i wish that you could set the runway to either allow landing, take off or both. that would help designing airports.
counted 14. @imperratur, I think you have some taxi ways on the left side of the airport that isn't pointing the right way in the flow of traffic, maybe that is the reason why its buggy like that... interesting,
Realistically, a runway is a runway and if its not having unique restraints (lookin at you Heathrow) then using runways for both is normal. And having planes turn right off of takeoff isn’t that bad, but on landings they should definitely enter straight on all the way out to map border.

@swedizzle12 you don't have to connect the taxiways at both ends so that's the easiest way to choose whether a runway allows take-offs and/or landing.

I bought this one immediately--the first DLC I've ever bought the minute it came out. And of course, here you are with a FANTASTIC airport build. I appreciate that you didn't just start plopping down any old thing, and methodically incorporated all of the elements of a working airport. I've been studying airports on Google Earth in anticipation of this release, and can't wait to jump in. Although the release favors Metro, I like seeing monorail. I can definitely see monorail being used to interconnect airport elements, as well as business districts. DFW Airport has some monorail infrastructure for that very purpose, although it is not fully fleshed out.

Magnificent build! Loving the paths as pretend taxiways and ground vehicle access roads.
Bought all 3 of the new releases.
What I love the most is that the tower has the most favourable spot in the whole airport, having a whole view on the ground and departures integrating into a single tower for efficiency and cost-saving measures, although I do think there is a missing building and that is a FIRE STATION!
Wish the towers were taller, they're super tiny considering they're for massive international airports, but his placement was perfect and makes even that tiny tower useable.

Yea criss crossing runways would be nice and the taxiway being able to intersect early so planes don't always need to travel the full length.
Fantastic detail! I love how you positioned the tower where it should be, with a commanding view of the whole field. I would also like to be able to connect high speed taxiway turnoffs near the ends of the runways as well, maybe that will be a future update.

This is the first build that made sense to me...... you have knocked it out brilliantly. Thank you for showing us how real the DLC can be. Love the mix of rock and retaining wall in the reclamation -- Only builder to site the control tower correctly -- Hope this goes into a real build soon.

Amazingly beautiful airport well done, I play on console and I've got the DLC and it's a great DLC except for some reason my FPS has vastly dropped even without a big Airport hoping this just as a bug, can't wait to start designing airports like you and heck I'm just happy for the new maps😁

The build looks sick. Very nice detailing. I do think that an airport that size would probably have some more runways though, a diagonal runway would've been a nice addition.

Some of the planes don't have the patience to make it to the runway. They take off directly. But it looks amazing. :)

When i got Cities: Skylines for christmas, i got the Airports DLC and the Mass Transit DLC as well.

Great build/airport layout. I like all the movement with this new DLC. I just hope all the plane stands and gates will be used by planes and planes stop running into each other, lol. Not sure if I will get this DLC though not a fan of the 3 airport designs, the little control towers and those hotels. Looking forward to see the new cool assets creators make for this new DLC though. 😀 😎

Bought the DLC. And I absolutely love it. And I love your airport build too.
I use both types of airports. I use the vanilla transport airport for my individual industries, but i built a massive warehouse area with all the specialization buildings around them in the middle of my map. And next to this area i built my massive international airport which does just like this build where I have passengers and product moving out. I lean more towards subways tho for my transit as its underground and i don't really like tracks above ground as much.

Awesome job. I just bought the Airports DLC and might actually go back to one of my airport maps and build a proper airport. I made ATL, ORD and DFW in the Workshop. Was considering Pittsburgh and also Moscow Intl Airport.

This is the video I have been waiting for! I knew you would do amazing things with the airport DLC. None of the other TH-camrs have done a really good job with the airports DLC. However, your airport looks amazing.
I just had 2 pointers:
1. What about the airport metro?
2. You did use a bit of move it even though this is a no-mod build.
This reminds me of Hong Kong, HKG!
One thing I haven't seen in any of the videos on the new Airports DLC: where are the airport emergency services? Most of the major airports I'm familiar with usually have their own dedicated fire departments/ambulance corps with specialized training to deal with the kind of emergencies you'd have at an airport.
