      It's an absolutely genius idea. I made one of these harmonographs last year and the friction was so bad that the drawing stopped before it even drew a recognizable pattern. After installing this coupling, the drawings were absolutely beautiful and incredibly intricate.

      @@ayaan5540 Hi Ayaan, tried this recently as well but friction is still to high to let the pendulums swing like in Nick's video. Any idea, what could be done wrong? Maybe the weight of the horizontal traverses is to high or the pendulum weights are to small (1.25kg each). Thanks for some ideas.

    4:33 see the image stabilizer in action. It warps the backgound, because it thinks the cam is moving.

    Hallo, wie hast du das gebaut? Wie kann die Blatthalterung rund schwingen, das kann man nicht genau sehen wie das gebaut wurde. Echt tolle Idee!

    Have you tried adding weight to the top of the pendulum poles to increase mass to increase swing time?

    How much weight you use on each pendulums?

      I used 15 pounds, about 7 kilograms, on each pendulum. You want to ensure that you can adjust the weights up and down on the pendulum to change the frequency or period of each pendulum. Have fun and I hope this is helpful.

      +Nick Gilmour but the period of pendulum depends on its length only.
      Period of pendulum, T = 2π√L/g
      L : length of pendulum
      g : acceleration due to gravity

      +Indurdut Ramdewor , agreed! The weight does not need to be changed to adjust the period, only it's position up or down on the shaft of the pendulum, which in effect changes the length of the pendulum. Thank you for the equation, most useful.
