I use two cameras, a small digital and a 6x7 rangefinder. Use the digital to preview the scene, much like a Polaroid, the if the shot looks good I take the same shot with the 6x7. Saves money. A frame of 6x7 in infrared costs about $2.50 if you have the lab develop.

Just wondering if you're going to load it in the dark? The website says subdued light but doesn't say complete darkness.

I enjoy your videos, thanks! I've been shooting Rollei IR film for several years now and have had some great results. I love the look of the black skies and brilliant white clouds when the photo gods cooperate with me.

I have shot EFKE, Kodak and Konica IR film - so that dates me. Never had the greatest luck but plugged on. The EFKE was the most fun.

Having never shot infared this was an interesting video. Hopefully a follow up video or two on this subject would be good.
Look forward to seeing the Hassleblad story progressing.

Great video! Just came across your channel and had to subscribe. I’ve been shooting film since the 1976. I couldn’t find the Giant Development Chart, but I did find a Massive Development Chart.😊

The Rollei Superpan 200 is much like the Ilford SFX200 in that it has that extended IR range. I have a 100’ roll of it in my bulk loader and it is one of my favorite go-to films! In my opinion, it has a stronger IR effect than the Ilford. 🙂

It's worth mentioning that before you develop the infra red film Rollei recommend that you prewash the film first. I did and a red coloured liquid came off. It's probably to get rid of the antihalation backing layer?. Anyway the processing was fine. I developed it in Rodinal and got some great negs - best were in a local overgrown graveyard. The infra red effect made it super spooky even though they were taken in full bright light.

I shot a lot of infrared in the '90s but switched to digital about 2010 and had my camera converted to Wratten 70 (665nm). If I want a more "dark sky" effect I add a stronger IR filter. PS: did a lot of false-color infrared as well.

Enjoy your channel. I may have to drop a roll in one of my TLRs and play with it. I'm an old pro (very old) and it's good to hear someone who has a few miles on them, discussing photography.

Another benefit of the Rollei IR film is without the IR filter, it is a great b&w film especially with a yellow filter, so you don't have to shoot the entire roll in IR. I tend to shoot it in 645 or 67 and that narrows down the number of shots. With the old Kodak IR gone that didn't have an anti halation layer, I plan on screwing on a Softar filter to see if it will add a touch of halation. I also have a Mamiya rb67 150 mm soft focus lens and will try that with the strongest disk inserted. With 18" of rain last month here in Florida, plenty of chlorophyll in plants now. I like the sun somewhat behind me to reflect off all that greenery and try to include water because it turns black and clouds to fill in the black sky. With the R72 filter I meter at ISO 6, it cuts about 6 stops of light, at f/16 and usually end up bracketing at around 1 second one stop either way. Thanks for inspiring me to pull out that ir film.

What filter would you recommend for B60 or B70 Hasselblad lens? I don't think the Hasselblad red filter will work properly with that film. Not sure if Hasselblad made an infrared filter back in the day.

I would buy an in-expensive B60 to 67mm adapter and then just get a 67mm 092 IR filter.

I used long ago, Kodak Infra red Aero film! It caused havoc at Lab! The rem jet came off and went on all the films! I had showed the RED warning! Pinned it to my process envelope! I was banned forever. I think Digital way better!
