Man I miss those old school Weapon Mans with the electrocute combo. You could often hold a lane with just one node, or one WM for that entire 3-lane turtle build. Then stack auras in the lane, and go make a sandwich.
It was insane. But the nerf was understandable. If you had tenacity on it, with shocking revelations and water servo. Nothing was getting past. Still miss those time though Fr.
Facts, good old days
It was so fun, could cheese anything.. high onslaught… even mastery was 100% afk on maps you could use it
The best way they could fix WMFR is by altering the node increase shard.
1- Keep the additional nodes, but also add node placement range (so it can cover more area, like a 3x placement range)
2- Give it massive Dmg boost to bring it back close to the power it used to have (maybe something like add 10%dmg per node placed).....BUT, make it single use defense (volcano, elder dragon, obelisk)
3- That and given the ability to upgrade.
This way it would cost 300 DU for all nodes, cover up to 3 lanes, and be powerful, but still require additional defenses, walls, buffs etc.

I think that a bit too op, Imagine if you could use 3 elder all with (all for one shard) even rn without all for one elder still holds lanes ezy.
@@kxngteo8306 but the elder is another story, not only it does more dmg than the mfr. It has the motherly love shard, and CAN be upgraded, dragon momma makes no sense honestly.
If they were to make it a single use defense obviously the dmg scaler on it would also be altered. Otherwise what’s the point?
That would just be a regular w.m with a slightly bigger range

You can't upgrade them, but upgrading the boosts would give them a little bump 😁
You inspired me to upgrade my WM relic from C9 and I derped it into non-existence along with the 10/10 Stunning Revelation :)
i just got back to game and im still doing earth tower from mage and WMFR and it works like a charm at c7 but i struggle to carry 4 players XD
Maybe a little guide on how to build with each character class? Or combos with 2-3 characters. Im talking about guide a little bit more begineer friendly + info on what to aim at with specific class combo
i use the MRF to full CC on the lane the mods are tenacity, stunning revelation and storm servo, the shards are defense Rate, Deadly strikes and Water elemental, this way can stun 2 times with the proc from water elemental shard and storm servo, and the stunning revelation mod, its a hold laner, to me work fine.
This is not effective in higher difficulty content sadly. The Electrocute combo is a stun just like stunning rev. So diminishing returns stacks up even faster with terrible results.
Hey JuiceBags! This video is perfectly timed, as I have just returned to DD2 and my build is completely for the WMRF lol. If I want to get to Chaos 10, what is the best build these days? Any new heroes I should prioritize? I've noticed a lot of build guides don't seem to utilize Tenacity anymore, is it not as vital as it used to be on auras and nodes? Thanks! :)
Aoe range such as spiders and dragons are good for every chaos.

Maybe if they gave it the ability to be upgraded it would be like the other defnses!
Now I wonder if you could do this: No wolves, maybe orc walls, and try a spawncamp manufacturer build.
Honestly when i see defences and what they do today, nerf to weap manf was unnesesary. It would be mediocre today unnerfed still, compared to what other S tier defences are doing

Do you think it's possible to use proton beams for c10?
Absolutely. The dmg actually scales pretty well for upgrading. You can stretch 1 beam down a lane pretty far zigzagging so you can meet them all up and share 1 boost aura/buff beam/pylon.
The problem is 2 fold, the frosty beams shard is so damn good it's almost foolish not to use it. And the base dmg isn't great, so even with the high upgrade scaling, it pales in comparison to other defenses.
But it does work in C10, and it's pretty DU efficient so you can double up the beams, or add additional defenses.
Walls + anything else.
