Usopp definitely is the boy who cried wolf, but that boy actually took responsibility. When he lies, it's to uplift people or make them feel better while Kuro is lying to deceit others.
Zoro's backstory with Kuina is so sad and also hard to believe- cause it's like if she was so strong and skilled at her young age, how could an "accident" take her out? But it also teaches Zoro how fragile life can be and forced him to really focus on his training and not be so reckless. They didn't say it in the live action but the leader of the dojo (the one with the glasses and long hair) is Kuina's dad. Also Kaya's mansion has the ship steering wheel cause they own the whole shipyard, so their house has a lot of shiplike elements. I'm so happy you guys kept watching the show and I'm having fun watching you all react to each episode!
@@dweblinveltz5035 kaido is literally one of the strongest beasts in the serious. he isn't even human and has an entire plot point about being impossible to kill. i dont see how that compares to a child
"why's he so extra about it?" He's a cat that's been playing with a little mouse, while he was a wolf in sheeps clothing to Merry. The man likes his theatrics, he's going to indulge in his ego after hiding it for so many years.
33:51 Yep, that's Luffy's grandfather on that ship. Marine Vice Admiral Monkey D. Garp. He's just so well known that everyone just refers to him as 'Garp', 'Vice Admiral Garp' or 'Garp the Fist' (for reasons you'll see later).
2:55 Uso in Japanese does mean "lie" so Usopp name kind of means he tells lies. Aslo his name is a play on the author Aesop creator of many fables including The Boy Who Cried Wolf. His character design in the manga/anime has a long nose in reference to Pinocchio's nose getting longer every time he lies.
The anime covers commenting on Kuina's death. Basically, after their promise, she was excited and went to get a whetstone to sharpen her sword... only to trip on the stairs and break her neck.
The "beauty" in Zoros backstory is also that Kuinas tragic death gives him the unwavering drive to push forward to achieve this sheer impossible task. And yet, should he achieve it, he knows he will never have bested her a single time (in the manga/anime, she defeated him over 2000 times). Another aspect to Kuinas death is also to symbolize, argueably, that no matter how grand your dream or ambition are, it doesn't protect you from unfortunate accidents. and "Sharkboy is gonna join the crew" is hilarious ... XD .... ikyk
34:12 Yeah, we see the resemblance a bit more int he anime. Not immediately but when we find out and look we realise how similar their smiles are. And then we see Garp when he was younger...... Family resemblances in this show are usually (though not always) a bit more like "I know that look" rather than "they have the same nose"
There's actually animal people in the One Piece world. Those with animal traits are theorized to have human and that animal tribe's blood in them. Kinda like how there's some larger than normal humans that likely have giant blood in them. And Arlong(the swordfish guy) is what is known as a Fishman.^^
Kuina's dead, there's no conspiracy. This isnt a spoiler or anything, they had a whole funeral, etc. - I just dont want you guys to start theorizing about stuff and waste your time. The cat pirates are just really into their cat theme, youll find other pirate bands that are really into their own themes later on, possibly. Good reaction. Oh and the girl on the right was right about the thing she said
Kuro is my favorite of the east blue villains and there is an interview the actor did with the one piece podcast that shows how indepth he went into getting into character that is really interesting to hear. I think the actors did an amazing job bringing everyone to the live action.
32:40 It takes some people a while to work through being called something like a "snivelling runt" and being threatened every day, getting your confidence back after it's been routinely crushed and undermined isn't an overnight job.
They downplayed the dialogue between Kuina and Zoro. When Kuina says "No woman can beat a man" Zoro points out that is just an excuse and it invalidates all the efforts he's been putting into becoming a better swordsman. He says that at the end of the day, effort matters more and she is stronger than him because she has trained for years more than him and that is why she is his goal. That is why he trains harder than anyone to try and catch up to her. Also he has never won a single match against her in over 2000 duels.
but he lowkey was emotional, even in the anime and manga, some part of him DID care about her. It was shown in a different way in the live action but in the anime and manga right before he was hit by luffy's headbutt his life basically flashed before his eyes, and he saw all the times he was cared for by her and u literally see it click for him and then he gets hit. Soooo YOU can't be serious actually
This is a joke, don't take it seriously but I feel like if the two girls on the left were to see Oda sensei, they'll be like "uggh he's annoying, i don't like him aleady"

Great Reaction! The grandpa reveal came way later in the anime so it took everyone by surprise who hadn't seen one piece before.
Can't wait for the next 4 episodes!
